Thanks for posting. I wasn't sure what dimensions would be best for doors and there are similar products on amazon that range $40-$250. Your idea is fantastic and I'm building one tomorrow. Thanks for posting. I appreciate it.
Spacers! Mine is 12” W x 16” L with 10” wheels and a 3/4” stainless steel axle. I machined the wheel hubs to 5/8” for the wheels on cushion bearings and snap ring grooves to keep the tires and axle running true. I usually move up to 10 sheets of 3/4” ply at a time. A steel flat bar fixed to the side is easy to balance and guide it through doors. In retrospect I plan to replace the wheels with pneumatic 10” ‘mark-less’ tires so I don’t worry about scuffing the floors or leaving marks. It’s good for about 1100lbs and saves many loading trips and my back surgeon thought your idea was great!
Thanks for your reply to my comment on your other video. By the time I read it the original dolly was made. I will infill the dolly with the pieces you suggest although I don’t carry doors so might leave those pieces out. I can always add them later. Thanks for showing the amendments. Keep up the good work.
hi father paw its a great dolly ,by the way you are not old ,and you never think a bout your age , you live you day as the last day in your life ,that makes you do your works perfect , and dont overthink about the futur and the past , live your day be happy work with love be honnest and brave ,i hope you live a healthy and longe life ,love you father have a good luck
It came out good, I am about to make one to carry pallets in a shop, but instead of gluing I'll cut a few pieces of plywood and notch it to fit in the bottom to get narrower or wider. Few snaps in removable pieces.
Nice job of teaching. I am looking at using two of these to move a heavy wood gate (almost 200 lbs) from my driveway to inside my garage for the Maine winter.
This is great! My husband and I are installing a new fence and the panels are too heavy for us. We are going to build one or two of these to help. Thank you!
Nice dolly! I once made something similar, but with one fixed (non-swivel) caster mounted on the bottom. With deep enough sides to the channel, and the gap not overly wide, the weight of the plywood keeps it in the channel just fine, even with such a small wheel. Also, adding a longer carrying handle to one side allows you to carry or roll your panels.
Great video; wonderful and very practical improvement! Do you have a video showing how you made the original dolly? I want to make a dolly like yours with this improvement. Thank you Paw Paw!
That's a good idea. You would want to use less than 45 degrees to create a longer slope for the sheets or doors to slide into. Thank you for the suggestion.
3/4+3/4+2=3 1/2 The two inch is the opening. Below that is a 1" opening with 1 1/4" on each side. These are approximate measurements that work for what I move the most. You can make your any way you wish. Thank you
Oh my gosh, I think that may be the niftiest dolly I’ve ever laid eyes on!
Thank you, I use it all the time.

Sounds like a very heavy duty dolly

...and, if you make an effort you can still squat 100kg / ~220lbs. at age 90: ruclips.net/video/FIvuxaFrK5w/видео.html
Great idea. Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome!

Awesome! Excellent idea and it should work well for you.

Thank you very much. I hope it works well for you.
very simple and super smart.
thanks for the idea.
Thank you very much
Love this creative tool. I need one of these! Thanks so much!
This is one of the most used tools in the shop. Thank you
Good. Now I know what to do with the lawn mower wheels i did not throw away. Thanks
Awesome! Glad you found a use for them.

I just had my fence panel delivered, realized they way twice what old panel do, and I’m 20 years older since last install

Also, increasing the channel length to 24" allows you to roll drywall sheets, as long as you don't roll over anything too bumpy.
Thank you, great idea.
Excellent idea. I used the lawn mower wheels because of the need to go over different type of surfaces
Sencillo pero muy útil y practico..
Muchas gracias y muchas gracias por tu apoyo
all you need are two wedges, one at one end of the dolly and one at the other end. hope this helps
Excellent idea, however, I am not physically able to do that and hold the plywood
Nice, but you couldn't use it Outdoors it would sink right away into the lawn
True, good thing I only use in inside. Thanks

Yes, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/P86vZzzi9Lk/видео.html
Lean the plywood in the dolly and up against a wall loosely put the wedges in each end then tap with a hammer
Interesting idea. I'm working on another idea which will help me get the plywood on the work bench
Very creative,by any chance do you have a video on how you wen about making the car from the beginning? I appreciated
Thank you very much. Yes, there is an earlier video.
I would just add a 45 degree bevel piece to each side and then you can carry from 0 to wide, single or several sheets and they will self center.
That's a good idea. You would want to use less than 45 degrees to create a longer slope for the sheets or doors to slide into. Thank you for the suggestion.
Yes sir, you could play with the angles depending on the stuff you need to move. Thanks for sharing your ideas...
Hi
I'm would like to make this job as my hobby for my retire to fill my free time/day.. What I can do first?
Thank you
Just start with the base.
Sorry for being persnickety, but 1 1/4" + 2" + 3/4" does not equal 3 /12".
3/4+3/4+2=3 1/2 The two inch is the opening. Below that is a 1" opening with 1 1/4" on each side. These are approximate measurements that work for what I move the most. You can make your any way you wish. Thank you
