I actually think Khalil has the best chance to win by making it messy and fast paced. That sounds like a terrible idea against Pereira, because it is, but fighting him in general is a terrible idea. Last thing you want to do is let him slow it down and fight a technical striking battle, he wins that all day. Khalil needs to get in his face and try to overwhelm him.
I think you're right. Pereira has a higher chance of winning when you have more, short engagements. He counters as you close the distance. If Khalil can keep real close and make the engagements longer, and keep his head off the center line, he could get an upset. Everyone knows Alex is hittable, Khalil needs to exploit that and force it to be a slug-fest.
Fighting Pereira when you have absolutely no wrestling or grappling is a bad idea... Why you think they give Pereira #8 ranked Khalil with absolutely no wrestling or grappling skill (I'm willing to bet money Pereira is a better wrestler and grappler).. Khalil is a sacrificial lamb while UFC is praying #5 Rakic beats #2 Ankalaev later this month... If Ankalaev wins I would'nt be suprised if he's skipped so Jan Blachowicz can fight again because it was a split decision fight.
Pereira also tends to back up when overwhelmed with his head going straight back, it hasn't caused him much trouble yet but I can see a powerful southpaw tagging him. Skill for skill pereira probably all day but hey, anything can happen

Great breakdown. I really like the format like this. Appreciate the level of effort you guys put into the breakdowns. It’s easy to sit in front of a computer and put yourself in the corner of the screen. This just feels more interactive and like classic in a way. I hate the streaming format, this is way better.
u said he looks like piccolo ur my favorite mma youtuber now! this is gonna be good fight guys regardless who wins this is gonna be a good one. i just cant go with anyone but alex
Possibly not getting hit in the face as his number 1 priority, pretty nutty. Seriously though he's got a decent shot but everyone can be put down with his nuclear option, it's so dangerous to get within striking distance.
I mean Bruno managed to essentially stand and trade with him for 3. Granted there was a little grappling mixed in, but I do believe Khalil has a very real chance
Im sitting here thinking Rountree has a really good punchers chance simply because of how aggressive and powerful he is. But when this fight is over, and Alex starches him in the 1st or 2nd round, we are all going to look back at how obvious that outcome was. I really like both of these guys but Alex is just levels above Rountree
One thing alex will probably abuse is khalil standing in front of him by throwing *heavy* leg kicks, we've seen former champs change stance after just a couple of them. And if Khalils legs are gone after one or two rounds his ability to blitz will be greatly reduced, ofcourse this being lhw (and with khalil in particular), one punch could drastically change the course of the fight. But idk, a kickboxer as accomplished, experienced and especially calcullating as alex pereira will probably have a sizeable advantage on the feet.
I've seen Poatan talking about and there is training footage of him grappling and I think he could pull that up to stop some voices. Poatan wins by TKO/KO in the second round.
Khalil Vs Alex is my favourite kind of match up because it guarantees my favourite aspect of this sport violence this is gonna be a war for however long it lasts which probably won't be long BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!!
@@TheLuckyShepherdgo look at his most recent fight. Perfect head movement, hands up, slipping off the centre line etc. he’s definitely improving every fight.
You need to blitz Pereira. He's kind of like Cerrone in that way. He starts slow. Mind you, Alex finds his rhythm a lot quicker then Cerrone does and is a lot deadlier of a striker. But the same idea applies. You can't let him stand there and pick his shots. There has been crazier upsets. We are do for one. This might not the way everyone thinks it will. That being said. I hope Pereira sends him to the shadow realm.
