    Raced karts for 20 years, not a sport for the faint hearted.
    I survived, thank God.

    • @AtotehZ
      @AtotehZ 6 лет назад +36

      +Blehtubezz Aus Your back isn't that compromised. Side of the ribs and neck are worse. The top of the seat pushes into the side of you when you go through corners. If you're running with a back-end that's a bit too narrow it can get very bumpy at the same time. A guy from my track got an inflated lung simply by driving through a corner, no accident. You can use a rib protector to avoid stuff like that. The neck is the worst. It is recommended that you use a neck-guard and even then it can become a bit much.
      I raced for 23 years myself. Raced KF2 for 5 years(still have the kart for hobby racing). Now I'm mostly steward in local races and marshall in national races.

    • @AtotehZ
      @AtotehZ 6 лет назад +9

      +Dan Kaz I've never seen a driver describe their sport as "I survived, thank God." Are you sure you're not just talking hot air? Or are you just putting on airs for the uninitiated.
      Also gokarts is more safe than cycling or bobsledding or skating.

    • @epistte
      @epistte 6 лет назад +4

      I was a road cyclist and a formula car racer. Racing is much more dangerous than a bike because when you crash a road bike you are only doing 20mph, so road rash and maybe a broken wrist. Crashing a kart will kill you if 3 people run you over at 100kph. These karts make the packs of FF1600 look tame.

    • @AtotehZ
      @AtotehZ 6 лет назад +1

      @@epistte That is simply incorrect. In cycling you're unprotected and if you're going 20mph you're on a massive incline or very bad at it. I used cycling as an example because I've used racercycles myself for decades.. I'm no pro cycler, but 20mph is pathetic and in pro cycling they go much faster. Closer to 60-65mph downhill. These speeds are frequent. This is much faster than any crash you're likely to experience in karting since tracks are designed to slow you gradually. I've had plenty karts ride over me.. that's why you're in a suit, helmet and gloves. My worst injuries are a bruised shoulder and a sprained finger from someone riding me. Aside from that general rib soreness is the worst. I've done several hundreds of races and trained more than 10 times that.
      Even seeing the ambulances in action is rare. The worst injury I've seen in a race was a concussion and whiplash.

There's also the fact that there a solid axle connecting the two rear wheel without any suspension so the kart bounces as the wheels try to regain traction. But regardless, if you look at his right leg, he lifts on/off the throttle in wide corners.

    Very nice driving there m8! Watched several of your onboards, great stuff on all tracks.
    What's the budget to run a full season with these? Also, is there a possibility to test drive these 250cc karts somewhere in Europe. I visited Malaysia and tested Rotax DD2 125cc Senior Kart which felt like a moped speedwise :)

    Could a damper placed on the steering keep things from being so choppy under heavy braking? Seems like time lost!
    Looks like so much fun though.

    Nice run. It seemed you were losing it on the middle pin at the top. A little too aggressive down to 2nd. 11 was best through there, only a slight pause, then a great recovery on the following right 👍🏼

      @@alexilauto1419 I don't think you guys know what you are talking about... Besides oval racing, Nascar series also run at road circuits like Road America, Sonoma etc. IMSA is the american equivalent of WEC. The 12 hours of Sebring, Petit Le Mans in Atlanta, The Global Mazdas cup, Indycars, The star Mazda series, the Formula Ford, NASA racing series, anything that has to do with dirt, trophy trucks, rally cross, dirt ovals, the 24 hours of Daytona, the 24 hours of Lemons, a purpose build F1 racetrack..
      America is amongst the top countries for motorsport

      It used to be. Remember how big CART Indy Cars was in the 80's and up to the mid 90's up until the split? Or IMSA during the GTP era?
      NASCAR got really big in the 90's and did well up until the recession in 2008. Now they are dying too.
      I remember as a kid my dad or older brother would take me to see Can Am and F5000. The starting grids were usually a who's who of racers from that era. Those series died long ago, even they were popular.
      To me, it seems like the vast majority of younger people are not interested in attending motorsports events anymore. Maybe because they are too consumed with their I-phones, video games and technology in general.

      @@gammaray6513 There's 14 year old drivers in indy car sanctioned series including the global mazda cup on their way to imsa seats. Simulators and esports are a huge new potential market for new and young drivers. Mclaren already had 2 major competitions.

    it's not in the rulebook so no one adds something that would increase the weight or mess up the airflow.

    Impresionante pilotaje. A 220km/h apurando y librando sin estructura ni nada que proteja al piloto esto si es competición y no la.formula 1 que. Aqui el piloto esta mucho mas expuesto .Tiene verdadero mérito, y los cojones bien gordos
