As someone who was forced to live with step mother and wasn’t allowed to see my mom at the age of 4 , it made me cry because i could relate to this and joys from rejoining with my mom was indescribable
To anyone reading this and deciding whether to watch it, it's not nearly as bad as it seems at the beginning. It's always kind of goofy humor but it becomes endearing and engaging as you get a ways into it.

Started out okay, lost momentum and the plot with why he was actually there in the first place? The INS Agents who kidnapped him were never seen again?Nobody asked for a ransome for a mediocre out of work actor? Dumped in Mexico and clueless why he was there? The story wandered all over the place, as confused as he was? Even the encounter with the Priest made no sense and had little or no bearing to the plot? As well as the a Dwarf in the trunk? Or the graveyard scene? Or why two idiots were yelling at one of their accomplices to hit one of them? Nothing made any sense? Why a child is a Court Clerk and Judge? Which would never be real! Nothing made real sense in Mexico except the bad guys wanted money but didn't ask for it? Then they were going to kill him and the orphans that made the " Good guys win a fight over the Bad guys". The End! And the American Border was right over the hill the whole time? Meaning he and the Orphans could have snuck into the USA any night without being detected! The INS agents were missing? Children don't like stories that don't make sense?🤔... Nickolas Turturro III, who played Juan, did a great job acting. I also noticed two other Turturro Family members. Lisa, who played the Mom so well and funny. And I'm assuming Nick's Daughter, Apollonia Turturro, who played his pre-teen daughter. She's very cute and pulled off the typical 13 to 15 year old.
