I’ve just made a very amateurish attempt at doing my own carbs off my ‘84 VF750F, you’re right V4s are a nightmare. With the limited equipment I’ve got, I just about got the crap off them, but they still look pants inside and out. It’s the wibbly wobblyness that’s the issue with them, linkage springs with a mind of their own flying off all over the place. It would be great if you could do a video of balancing a set of carbs. Not sure if you’re doing that as part of these restorations. Would be very useful to see. Great video, not that many real mechanics on RUclips, always listen intently to your content, very helpful. Thanks.

A fantastic job done. They looked horrendous to start with, really thought some of the seized parts would have been impossible to remove or find replacements for them.
If nothing else, this vids on v4 carbs, are a must watch for anyone before purchasing such a machine.😱

Ye the dif on the parts with jim saus look lots better than just the vapor blast foat bowl. Vapor blast looks all most plasticky.

I had the same problem with my V four 125 last year, man it was a bit of a kerfuffle I can tell you.

Were the float chambers on back to front? I did that on a set of CBR1000F carbs without thinking.

No, that's the correct way, I understand it looks a bit wonky. 😂 If you put them with the drain screws facing the outside, the frame rails are in the way and you can't drain the carbs 😁 Thanks for commenting, love your channel!
