My. Mom's next door neighbor, was a K-9 officer. After his 1st Shepherd had to be retired, he had a new partner, 2 year Shepherd. He went to eat before his shift, forgot his vest. Went after an armed robber, but the wind changed - and he got shot, when the dog couldn't smell him. His dog stayed with him, until backup & EMTs showed up. He took backup PD to his owner's killer, met his demise. I wish people wouldn't do that, it's unnecessary, and hard on the officers!! I'm saying something, because I'd like all police and Sheriffs, to always put their vests on, on their way to work! You can get distracted, like our friend did, and not make it back home to his family. I'd personally offered to go pick the pup up, as they're retired in a situation like that. But his wife felt he'd want her to keep him with the retired Shepherd. I miss that family, they moved. But I will never forget how fun both dogs were, when not working. All trained dogs, whether helping with criminals, search & rescue, even the drug sniffing Beagles that I have seen? All have a spot in my heart, as they not only save people, but enrich everyone's lives.
The lady trooper at the 32 minute mark was such a real hero. It was awful seeing that little girl face down in that freezing water. Damn, what a show of selflessness and bravery.
That was really hard to watch. Just makes me want to go hug my kids and no let go. I had to know if the little girl was okay. Trooper Archer is a hero, and the girl made a full recovery.
I don't understand why they wouldn't jump in to get her instead of standing around waiting for 911? Every second she's in there is dangerous. We take such a passive role in our own lives now we have to rely on everyone else when we don't want to do messy things.
@@emnewb641the risk of an olderly person getting in freezing water getting hypothermia and also needs rescue isn't helping. It's same with 911 operators promptly advising civilians not to go into a burning building to save others -the risk that person also needing to be saved is just too big.

To clarify on the tree issue, there are tree that are illegal to climb. Redwoods within state park boundaries are illegal to climb. Some of the clonal colony is considered illegal to climb as they are over 10,000 years old. A 150 year old tree is beautiful and amazing, but absolutely not sacred in most cases.
Arborist here to say this old tree can be damaged by recreational climbing. The canopy is a fragile ecosystem that can be trampled and the cambium can be damaged by friction from the ropes. Also the ropes and other gear can transmit highly infectious diseases from previous climbs on infected trees.
@@drakenbakken i dont know where you got the "no rope swings on any trees ever" from but I think dude was just explaining that it CAN damage the tree, if you put into context that this is the second oldest tree in the state, i think not wanting a rope swing on THAT particular tree is a fair sentiment to have. there are many, MANY trees in the world you can climb but with this tree being "historical" in a way maybe don't climb this one. imho

Cool, but from the sound of it, until the tree gets an actual protection status, it does not even matter if they damage it or not, as long as they are not intending to vandalize it.
The officer that capture FBI fugitive in a creek bed in the woods is absolutely amazing! Seems like the most taxing and stressful part of being a cop is securing those handcuffs. I’m not complaining. That’s just what I’ve noticed in multiple vids. Maybe we should look at an easier way to handcuff criminals
Sorry but the officer with the K9, he let that dog go off on that guy without mercy, once the guy was down you heel your dog and if the suspect gets up or tries to run let the dog go again, but to allow that many bites is ridiculous. I don't care how annoying he is.
No, generally speaking, if a tree is protected, it is not legal to climb it, as climbing could be considered damaging to the protected tree, and most protected tree ordinances include restrictions against activities that could harm the tree, including climbing. Now whether a 150-year-old tree is considered protected depends on its species, location, and local laws; while 150 years could be considered "ancient" for some fast-growing tree types like birch, most places wouldn't automatically protect a tree at that age, and specific legislation would need to be checked to confirm its status. Most trees that are protected have to be filed for, inspected, and approved for a protected status under the Arbor Day Federation. They would have to see if the tree was registered under the protected status. If so, then damaging it can result in legal consequences, including fines, penalties, the requirement to replace the tree, and potentially even criminal charges depending on the severity of the damage and local regulations; essentially, you could face legal repercussions for harming a protected tree.
55:27 i would've honestly carried the little boy if i was able to, or asked one of the volunteers to carry him (at least if the little boy was alright with it,) i know there was 3 young kids, so the officer would need to keep an eye on all three of them, but that's just what i would do. i just specify the little boy because the poor kiddo kept tripping over the coat the officer was letting him wear.

Ok hear me out. Nobody wants to think that there is a burning body. Its natural to cope like this. Our brains don't want to accept the facts because it's so brutal. As for the police that's what they were told and they have to go on that until they figure out what actually happened. They more than likely knew it was a body. I could be wrong but I don't think they are going to make assumptions until the facts are straight. i've seen tons of police videos over the years and it's not just in the desert. Its happened in the suburbs in plain sight. Unfortunetly when people pass on they do look like mannequins. It's sad but every passed person I have ever seen looks that way. Idk why, just how it is.
