I grew up next door to Wes and Marilyn, and his son Matt was one of my best friends. But I never had the chance at so young an age to appreciate Wes' work. Man, what a treat at age 55 to hear this! Really incredible. I tried to post a link to the story of Marilyn giving this guitar to Doug, but I guess utube doesn't allow links in posts. If you go to GIBSON DOT COM and append this to the address you'll get the article: absolutenm/templates/FeatureTemplate.aspx?articleid=103&zoneid=2
Speedy West was flat out the best steel. guitarist. He played with all the biggies and was one of the very few to push the limits of what the instrument could do. There are videos of him.here with Jimmy Bryant and Ernie Ford and Mister Sixteen Tons himself Merle Travis. For a while Speedy had a Bigsby
Glenn Johnson Well i knew of Wesley Tuttle but what a surprise to hear him here for the first time and a yodeller!!!This is just pure classic country and has put a great big smile on my face.I`m in hillbilly paradise so a big,big thankyou for this.
Hahaha it´s funny to see that blues, country and jazz musiciens use to imitate other songs. Its easy to see that the begining of this song is from the music: "move it on over"
