Hi Sophie, thank you so much for your videos! They have made a world of difference for my and my partner as we adjust to life with our new cockatiel, Frank :) We are planning on getting him a companion in the near future (likely of the same species per your recommendation), what are your thoughts on a male vs female cockatiel? Is it better to have two of the same gender to prevent hormonal behavior/eggs?
Your videos are so informative! Thank you so much for taking the time to educate others while keeping your videos with such a positive air. I have been considering getting a cockatiel, but in one of your videos you recommended two (no problem, I have plenty of space and finances) but my concern is not being able to tell gender. If I end up with a male and female is my main concern, as I don’t want to breed or any accidents. Would something like a cockatiel and a conure be happy together? Totally avoids the risk of breeding then!
Thank you so much for your kind words - I’m glad you enjoy my videos 😊💙 Cockatiels and conures aren’t a good mix as conures usually bully cockatiels. As long as you are strict with hormone management (I have a video on this!) then there shouldn’t be an issue with mating/eggs!
Thank you, this is exactly the sort of light entertainment I needed today. I’m so happy you found out that she is a girl. My three grey ladies are all meant to be well girls. However one of them behaves in a way that suggests boy. Like you I am kind of waiting for something else to happen and if it does then we will find out then what Lucy is. However I kind of hope nothing happens.
Hi Kathaleen, I’m glad you liked the video! As long as our birds are happy and healthy, that’s all that matters! I commented on tori video about the guide dog situation, I’m not sure if you have read it yet.
@@BirdNerdSophie hi I agree so long as they are happy and healthy that is what matters. I haven’t seen your comment yet, I’m sorry. I will go and look again now. It does keep telling me I have a comment on that video that I cannot find. I bet it’s yours. I’m sorry. All the other comments are showing up so I’m not sure why you’re one wouldn’t be. Perhaps it will show up now.
@@BirdNerdSophie nope, this is weird. I cannot find your comment. I’m going to look up some things online now to see if I can troubleshoot what is going on. This is very strange. I’m so sorry.
@@orkneyparrots4772 it’s okay. Just wanted to share my support with you, and if you’d like me to, I can share the video on Twitter and tag guide dogs to try and get some attention on it!
@@BirdNerdSophie thank you, I am trying to troubleshoot this now as I don’t want this to happen again (your comments not showing up I mean). You know that would be great if you can share the video anywhere at all and tag anybody you want to including Guide Dogs. I really need to get some attention on this. Thank you again Sophie.
Naw baby Olive. I thought she was a girl. I was pretty sure of mine, but I DNAd just incase. No matter how little I take off the nails, one always bleeds 🙄. So I found it quite easy to do. And they only need a small amount. But it confirmed mine were all boys. ❤️
How nice your Olive is a confirmed female👍🏼🦜
It's interesting to be able to pair her behaviours with being a girl!
I just knew she was a little girl!!! I'm so happy!!!
So fun to find out for sure :)
Her wave at the end is soooo cute!
She’s a very polite birb! 😊
A baby girl!

Hi Brianna, I’m glad you find my content useful 😊 you can have either gender as long as you are very strict with hormone management!
