I ordered a watch through your link yesterday but had no idea about the WR4K discount code as I didn't see it as I didn't click the read more part of the comment 😓 silly me.
Is indeed a handsome watch & worthy homage to the past. Because of the ethos of the watch, I believe script writing instead of hexagonal emblem on watch face would be more harmonious & less conflicting. It punches way above it's pay grade.
Bit late on this piece but Just ordered the 40mm nh35 version of this 38mm too small for my 7.5 wrists... Noticed San Martin have done away with the rivets on the bracelet ...To me the NH35 is a lot better offering on price compared to the PT5000 n sw200 selita ...Great review
This one became my fourth San Martin, one of which is the SN004-gV2. Based on my experience with it, as well as this review, I of course ordered mine (and thanks for the $10 coupon!). I love everything about this watch; the size is perfect for my 7" wrist. Love the gilt dial and handset, the snowflake hands are great, and seem to be almost dipped in C3-Superluminova! The QC of the entire watch is phenomenal for the money (for almost any money, in fact). SM took a fantastic watch and made it damn near perfect. The NH35 performs as silky smooth as it should in every regard, and is keeping to about -6 secs/day. And while others have complained about the "S" logo on the crown, I like it better; it actually has some depth to it versus the Hex logo. Since I got this one on my wrist, it has successfully fought off all my other watches for wrist-time, even my Rolex Datejust! Keep this hits coming!
Got my today! Looks absolutely stunning! The red triangle really pops. Fits my wrist to perfection! So I can confirm it easily fits an 8" wrist, no problem! I got no springbar tool nor screwdriver, but I don’t really care tbh!
Congratulations Kurt. Excellent choice. Wear yours in good health. Lift up both foam panels in the watch box. Sometimes the bag with the screwdriver, and spring bar tool is under them. Regards, #WR4K
Yh it's this is basically the Sn004-GB but with snowflakes hands and a S crown. Where the Sn004-GB has Mercedes hands and logo crown. Great review, the only fault you disliked with the shark crown is now changed with my version watched it again. Thanks 👊🏾
S on crown is emblem is perfect to me. Definitely subjective, hex on crown makes it less legible and adds unecessary texture to a part of the watch that's already full of texture. Hex on sn020 works because the watch has less textures, so I'm glad the S is on the sn006-g2 as well. I saw some reviewers partake on the internet narrative bandwagon of criticizing the S appearing on the sn059 as well. Yet I still prefer the S on the crown there cuz again, it doesn't need more textures. Where some see non-uniformity, I see balance and rhythm.
Good lord that is a little stunner. Honestly, these Chinese manufacturers are really upping their game and the quality really comes through on the video, especially the finishing. I think the next stage in their evolution needs to be their clasps and introduce toolless microadjustment options
I agree that SM should develop an upgraded clasp with on the fly micro-adjustment. There's nothing wrong with the current clasp that spans most of their model line, but I for one would gladly pay more for said upgrade. It would place them yet another rung up the ladder in terms of specs and value .
IMO this is the perfect combination of the 004g and the 008g.... I just wish I knew this was coming before I bought the original 004g months ago of which I dislike the false patina aged indices, they just look brown and dull. San Martin knows everyone hates the $ crowns which they obviously had made in bulk and are trying to use up, they should just give us the hex and charge £5 extra 🙄
A limited edition should have an inscription of the number of pieces made and the number of the particular watch. A missed chance I think. To make this the perfect watch there should be an on-the-fly micro adjustment clasp. These clasps are available on AliExpress for 5 to 10 dollar, so why not make it available, San Martin, for a little bit of extra cost? Anyway a very nice watch and a very good review.
Thank you for watching Rene. Glad you enjoyed it. Agreed, a "Limited Edition" should be numbered 1/500 etc. I also concur a clasp with micro adjustment would be a good enhancement. Regards, #WR4K
Placed the order for Blue.. It has the SM logo on the crown .. Plus its my first Bluesy :) .. Also used the WR4K code for USD10 discount .. happy all around .. Cheers
The "S" emblem is the killer for me, it just destroys the cohesiveness of the watch. The printed logo on the dial is not as much of a disappointment, but I have a San Martin Rolex explorer homage and the applied hex logo is an absolute pleasure to see play with the light (I hated the logo when I first saw it too). So, despite the case finishing and despite the limited edition nature and amazing vintage color way and perfect 38-39mm sizing, I will not be getting this piece. Great piece if you can overlook the crown logo and dial logo though!
Dude you can't even read the applied logo from certain angles because of the way it plays with light. I have one SM with applied logo and other with printed logo, and the printed looks so much better, just looks a lot more subtle and it can actually be read.
@@Godotlv5000 Well that's interesting. Looking via the video, the applied logo looks good. Regardless, they both look better than the script branding. Why does SM still play around with its branding? I think the scripted branding looks amateurish and would never buy a watch with that written branding.
Like others have said, a no-date movement would have been better. I would also like to see a jubilee-style bracelet with the same clasp. There are just too many oyster-style bracelets and I think San Martin can produce a jubilee.
Great watch 👍 I just bought the SN017 MOP dial 😎 Along with the 62Mas Chrono. The new Speedmaster 57 Homage is now for sale on WatchDives - the blue sunburst dial version looks incredible. I will be ordering it by the end of next week. San Martin are really knocking it out of the park. Thank you for the review John. Regards from Whitesville.
They should have gone with clear AR coating. It's way better than their earlier versions though. I went with the blue version 2, because the dial was charcoal and didn't match the bezel insert. They've dialed in a few details on this one. Yes, is not high beat.... But there were several advantage in my opinion.
I must say after just having bought the tudor Black Bay 58 and having many san Martins there is no comparison when talking about crown action or bezel action…
I am sometimes surprised how watch ppl can get fixated on such a small details. I mean I get it partially. Watches are our hobby and are usually small pieces of metal but still I don’t understand why the S on the crown is such a big deal. I have their vintage sub homage with printed San Martin cursive logo on the dial, hex logo on the clasp and S logo on the crown. I never look at the crown and also nobody will ever look at my watch crown 😁 I bought this one as well. I think they did a great job. Also I usually laugh when people say thinks like “oh this is a great seiko diver.. oh wait.. no signed crown ? That’s a pass for me..” 😁😁 When I was getting my first and only Rolex I watches many many videos on it. Some people said that the rehaut rings on Rolex watches are not aligned with the dial. That the crown on the rehaut is usually slightly to the right. Again - you have to look crazy closely to see the rehaut markings. When you wear the watch or check the time or take pics of it for instagram you just don’t see it. It’s such a small thing. What I want to say is that we don’t have to sweat the small stuff 😁 they are called San Martin - they start with an S. So they slammed it on some of their crowns. It’s ok, you really will not notice. But if your ocd would not let you sleep because of it go ahead and get something else 😁
I get your point kinda... But it doesn't just look like an S does it, it looks like a $ to most and the $ is a tacky out of place symbol to have on a beautiful vintage diver homage. It's not about being OCD, it's just annoying as like the reviewer says the watch is flawless apart from that one little piece of branding that makes zero sense. Believe me San Martin knows the majority hate that $ with a passion yet they continue to use it as they've had them made in bulk.. The right thing to do would be for San Martin to just charge an extra £5 for the matched stamp that everyone wants on literally the best selling San Martin watch.
Hi! Your review made me buy this watch and thx to your code, I got a 10 dollar discount. I have one question. Is this glass single domed or double domed? In some reviews they call it single domed but you mentioned in the video that it's a double domed. Can you please clarify that? Keep up the good work man, you rock!
@@watchreviews4k thanks for quick response! BTW I don't know if you get this a lot but your English and the way you describe watches is superb! I'm from Turkey and listening to you is a good English practice for me :) I've learnt a lot from you. Again, thank you for your reply, you're so kind.
Great review as always. I have 2 questions. On watchdives, the specs list the thickness at 13mm. That seems quite thick for a 38/39mm piece. In your video, it doesn’t appear to look that thick, seems to my eye to be closer to 11.5mm thick. Do you thick the 13mm measurement might include the height of that domed crystal? Second, what are the differences between this limited edition and the BB58 v3 in blue you recently reviewed and added to your collection? I am trying to decide between the two. Thank you.
Thank you for watching Ian. I measure every watch I review using digital vernier calipers. All dimensions are stated at the start of my review. This SN004-G has a smaller case than the SN008-G. The bezel is gear tooth profile, rather than coin edged profile. Printed Hex rather than applied Hex on dial. "S" crown rather than Hex crown. NH35A rather than PT5000/SW200-1. Regard, #WR4K
Ian; I have both this watch as well as an earlier version (just received the newer one today). The 13.0 mm is indeed including the domed crystal. I measured the crystal as 1.1mm thick (w/digital calipers), so the case would be 11.9mm thick. I can tell you most assuredly that this watch, while not 'thin', does indeed wear thinner than the dimensions would suggest, as it sits flush on my wrist. It is a very comfortable watch, especially the new version with the Oyster style bracelet. Hope that helps you.
Hey, Is the S-crown interchangeable with /for a hex-crown -logo ??! From /with other san martin watches With the same stem length ?? Or maybe to order it , separately as a spare part by Sant Martin! Like the hex-crown much more ! Thanks already
Thank you for watching J. The stems are cut to length to suit the case, therefore they aren't interchangeable between models even if they both use PT5000, or NH35A, etc. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k there are some other differences. The 008 is thinner thanks to its thinner rotating bezel and its flatter crystal. That can be seen as an advantage or as an disadvantage as doming is seen as something desirable.
Thank you for watching Luis. The NH35A feels better to manually wind, and also its easier to screw down the crown than the PT5000. I prefer the reliability of the NH35A to the PT5000. Regards, #WR4K
Very helpful review, thank you. This watch is a case of so near and yet so far... It is a great homage to the BB58, but the aberrant crown is a real disappointment. SM could easily have used their Hex logo, but this just looks like thoughtless cost cutting. I can live with the ghost date of the NH35, but the inconsistent branding is something they were sorting - it looks like they've just chosen to empty their parts bin instead. I'm trying to convince myself that I don't look at the crown and therefore it's not a deal-breaker. What do you think the chances are of SM listening to/acting upon your suggestion, John?
Thank you for watching. In order to make production of the Hex crown viable, San Martin had to order 10,000 pieces to reduce the wholesale price to per piece. They also have an existing stock of "S" crowns they need to use up before switching over to the new Hex crowns. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k thanks for the speedy reply - economies of scale are understandable, but they are using the hex crown on other models - v4 of their vintage diver, for example. Oh well, life is full of compromises...
I just ordered this watch... I'm a sucker for black/gilt dials, however, however, you made me curious; where did you see or hear that SM is coming out with a blue dialed version of this watch? I'm quite curious to research it. Thanks Daniel
Great looking watch, besides the "S"-crown. I agree, the NH38 would’ve been the better choice. I thought you wanted to add this to your collection, what did change your mind? Mine is still being hold hostage by FedEx. Thanks for the review!
I hope you get yours soon Kurt. It is too similar to my SN006-G and SN008-G; I don't want a third San Martin piece with Snowflake hands. Regards, #WR4K
Did you get your SN047-G yet? Let me know when you get your SN004-G if the bracelet is too tight, and I will send you my spare link. As you can see in the video it fitted my 8" wrist with all the links in; so you may be satisfied with the fit. Regards, #WR4K
Not sure blue tinting the AR coating was the right decision on this watch. It's a little distracting and there are so many colors already (black, gold, red, steel)...
Hey, I watched a lot of your reviews lately . And bought a BB 58 limetited edition from watchesdives (San martin) after you made a review about it ! I love it very much 😎👍🏻 Now there is a smillar looking watch out from “timefactor” (eddy??) ; Smiths Prs 60 commander ! I hoped you can make a video about it (review) , so you could give your opinion about it! I am curious about there /your opinion also of there Smiths Prs 25 Everst!…… Champagne 🍾watche(s) for lemonade🍋 money or not 🤔🕵️♂️💎👍🏻😎 Thanks already🙏 Kind regards J. Otten
Congratulations. Excellent choice. Wear yours in good health. I appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately Eddie doesn't loan watches to RUclipsrs for review, so I won't be reviewing one. I don't want to buy one for £365 then sell it at a loss on eBay after. Regards, #WR4K
Oke! I understand, But is there nobody in the watch “community” that would loan one to you (private person) , to make a review about it !/or maybe you know somebody that have it , and get it for a review That”s a common think on youtube watchchannels 🤔🕵️♂️ or not! And i think you won”t get a lose on it on ebay or somewhere else , because there very “rare” , difficult to get. Only a few minutes available on there website , when there is a batch ! So i think you can make a Profit out of it 🤔💰😎👍🏻 when you decide to sell it further! Thx
I am in Ireland. The watch is shipped from the UK. Since Brexit watches shipped from the UK to Ireland incur import tax and VAT, as the UK is no longer in the EU. Therefore I would make a loss selling it on eBay. Same applies with loaned watches. I would get charged import tax and VAT on a watch coming from the UK, which is where the majority of these watches are sold to. Paying £365 GBP (415 Euro) plus 20% taxes is 498 Euro. It just isn't worth the expense for a review that will only do 5-10K views, which equates to 5-10 USD AdSense revenue. Regards, #WR4K
Oke! Understand 😢! Thx for the great explanation any way 😊! Maybe in the future , you never know 💪🏻 you would /be able if someone in Ierland would lend it to you. 🙏
I really appreciate yor response, I just have one of these and the bezel feels very loose. Under 40 mm which is the best San Martin to buy that you can recommend? I love your reviews and the details on them. Thank you again!

Is this a partial bb58 derivative as they already have the sn008-g ? What segment of homage is this aiming for -Maybe a 6538 ? Which is the the truer bb58 homage this or the sn008?
The SN004-G with Mercedes hands is a Submariner homage; with Snowflake hands it is a Black Bay 58 homage. The SN008-G is also a Black Bay 58 homage. Regards, #WR4K

@@watchreviews4k there are some other differences. The 008 is thinner thanks to its thinner rotating bezel and its flatter crystal. That can be seen as an advantage or as an disadvantage as doming is seen as something desirable.
What do you think of the PT5000 movement that comes with the normal version of this whatch?
Great review. Will you be reviewing the blue version that will come out next month?
Thank you for watching Daniel. No. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k Thanks for the offer! I’ll let you know, once I have it.
FedEX is due to deliver on Wednesday.
And no, I didn’t get the 047.
Is this your favourite San Martin watch?
Yes, the blue version. Regards, #WR4K
Not sure blue tinting the AR coating was the right decision on this watch. It's a little distracting and there are so many colors already (black, gold, red, steel)...
Thank you for watching Yannick. Agreed, clear AR coating would have looked better. Blue tinted AR works better on blue dial watches. Regards, #WR4K
Hey,
I watched a lot of your reviews lately .
And bought a BB 58 limetited edition from watchesdives (San martin) after you made a review about it !
I love it very much 😎👍🏻
Now there is a smillar looking watch out from “timefactor” (eddy??) ; Smiths Prs 60 commander !
I hoped you can make a video about it (review) , so you could give your opinion about it!
I am curious about there /your opinion also of there Smiths Prs 25 Everst!……
Champagne 🍾watche(s) for lemonade🍋 money or not 🤔🕵️♂️💎👍🏻😎
Thanks already🙏
Kind regards
Oke! I understand,
But is there nobody in the watch “community” that would loan one to you (private person) , to make a review about it !/or maybe you know somebody that have it , and get it for a review
That”s a common think on youtube watchchannels 🤔🕵️♂️ or not!
🙏
Dear WR4K, Did you know something about the bezel action of 90 clicks instead of 120 for this model? Are they lying in their description?
San Martin have changed to using 90 clicks on the SN004-G. Regards, #WR4K
I really appreciate yor response, I just have one of these and the bezel feels very loose. Under 40 mm which is the best San Martin to buy that you can recommend? I love your reviews and the details on them. Thank you again!
Under 40mm the SN008-G V3 is the best. See my review below. Regards, #WR4K

Unfortunatly i cannot watch this video in 2160 as it keeps locking up and theres no alternative to watch at 1080 ,only low res available .I really wanted to watch this but i cannot watch low res .
You prolly just tried a bit too early…
It takes circa 2 hours for a 4K video to upload and process fully to 4K. The video is now fully processed to 2160. Regards, #WR4K
Nice review as always man. Have you ever checked the Sugess Daytona Homage? It looks amazing, fully auto chrono movement based on Valljoux 7750
Than you for watching. I appreciate the suggestion. I asked Sugess to send me pieces for review. Unfortunately they said no. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k they are mad or don't have much faith in their watches
How do I get one
Thank you for watching Mark. See link below. Use "WR4K" 10 USD discount code. Regards, #WR4K

Another great watch, another great review. Thanks.
Thank you for watching Don. Glad you enjoyed it. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k thanks but which is the truer bb58 homage should of been my question. This or the subsequent sn008?
Regards
@@bruh_oly1370 The SN008-G has a coin edge bezel, which is more like the Black Bay 58; therefore it is more true to the original. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k thanks for clearing that up 👍
These seem to be sold out everywhere, perhaps they will make more?
Thank you for watching Gabriel. Yes, the SN004-G was hot selling during the summer sale so sold out fast. San Martin are currently making another batch so Wathdives will have stock soon. They are also currently making a batch of blue version which will be available from next week. I will be reviewing one soon. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k blue one ...😍 , i will be on look out and grab one as soon as it becomes available
@@watchreviews4k Thank you for the info!
hate the hour hand . . otherwise love it
Thank you for watching Ross. Regards, #WR4K
I also have this problem with this typical Tudor "snowflake" hands. I prefer a bit thinner hands. Mercedes hands are the "fattest" i could accept.

Thank you for watching Bogdan. Regards, #WR4K
I stopped watching at the $
Thank you for watching. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k sorry but it honestly turns me off, that $ sign I just don’t get it, the watch review is great and the watch t I just can’t justify that symbol! Maybe the wathdives get sent those rejects?
@@timefliesby-jleo474 "Maybe the wathdives get sent those rejects?" San Martin are also using the S crown on other models. Regards, #WR4K
@@timefliesby-jleo474 it’s not a $ sign, it’s an “S” for San Martin.
@@rogerauclair1670 I get it but it’s truly a dollar sign lookalike and a terrible design decision. And judging from the enthusiast community I believe we are all on the same page.
first :-D buy YT still processing :-/
First 30 PCs sent out last week.
We will process rest orders before this Friday
