- Monster Sport was started by legendary rally hill climb racing driver, tuning shop owner, rally team manager Nobuhiro Tajima. Nicknamed ‘Monster Tajima’. In 1983, he formed ‘Suzuki Sport’ which was effectively the Motorsport arm for Suzuki Motors to complete in top level racing, rally and the infamous Pikes Peak Hillclimb challenge. Players of the early Gran Turismo game series will probably remember the ‘Pikes Peak Escudo’ A 900hp twin engine belonged and front spoiler monster car that Tajima San brought to victory in 1995. Monster sport also campaigned various Swift models in the Junior WRC. Winning many rallies and helping to develop tuning parts for Suzuki sports cars.
Join us as we visit one of their Monster Sport in Machida as we begin to explore the history, concept and philosophy behind Monster Sport and Tajima San’s legacy. On display is the latest ZC33S Swift Sport demo car. With a complete engine with aftermarket turbos, ECU and intake & exhaust tuned by Monster engineers to give 200PS and 32kgm. The potential of this compact front drive car will be interesting to explore in future episodes.

22:47 Capt mentioned about Alto had DSG but its actually called 5 speed AGS which is Single clutch auto transmission.
24:25 The orange Swift is actually Swift Sport . Swift Sport actually comes with either 6 Speed Auto or 6 Speed Manual
26:33 The Jimny you see is actually 4th gen model, JB64
Please can you make a review of the new jimny
Just the the fact that you can sit down with an experienced technician and discuss a recommended settings based on the type of driving you do? That alone is priceless
Suzuki swift sport is the best allround car.
Japanese reliability
Fun on track
Easy and cheap to keep
🤗👍🏻
I couldn't agree more. I own a 2007 Suzuki Swift Sport and it is awesome! Best value for money in the global car industry.
Its slow and has a shit interior
Finally a review of suzuki swift sport
Yess, my brother drives a suzuki, I’ve always wanted to know their racing heritage
@@bizhanbazhirov2404 yeah me too.
Hell yeah. Monster is legendary. I use some of their products in my Swift Sport (zc31s) all the way in Europe. 🙃
Which ones? I'm curious. Intake, exhaust?
Monster is awesome quality I use some their parts in my zc32s
@@coolchris2037 A bit too expensive though.
This is of my favourite channels on youtube at the moment
I bought my first car ZC32S in this shop !
I recomend this shop for every EVO and SWIFT owner.
I really love the new Jimmy, it looks like the old Suzuki Samurai.
I think thats a typo there supposely its Jimny
@@mayuravirus6134 wow, you're right! All these years saying it wrong haha
I'm in awe how Suzuki not just makes a very efficient car they also make a very powerful very efficient fun car
12:13 Retired white haired Takumi spotted!!!! The sneakers, jeans and white T-Shirt is a dead giveaway!!!
Yeah lol nice catch
“Wow!” Is all I can say about the airbox. It’s gorgeous.
That Cappuccino is in amazing condition! Wonderful.
I had gone to the old Yokohama location before they moved. They have me a autographed poster and a bag full of jacket patches they had laying around of the WRC swift (for context, I bought a lot of Suzuki sport stuff) Dont plan on ever selling those. :) . I've been shopping with them for all my Suzuki cars. My main store now is the Tokyo location.
Do you have a cultus gt/swift gti? I am interested in original suzuki sport parts for that car
This brings back memories. I had some work done on my Swift Sport at this shop. ( Yokohama / Machida )
I saw one of shop when I cycling away from Hakodate on Route5 3 years ago. I stopped and took a picture, wondering if this is the "Monster" Tajima's shop. Now I finally got the answer.
i saw it too last year
Awesome video as always!
I would love to see more about the Cappuccino
Love my Swift Sport, such cool little cars
Thank you for your continued effort to bring us high quality content! Amazing work as always!
Please cover more famous tuners across Japan! Love from Malaysia
Great review of Monster sport! Btw the swift sport zc33s is 970kg stock manual 990kg for the auto!
dennis lam Yes exactly, regarding the weight. I was wondering why he said it was 1100Kgs? The Monster demo car would be even lighter, with the lighter wheels, carbon bonnet, lighter exhaust, etc.
He talks fully loaded instead of empty weight i guess
Greetings from Colombia. I love the channel. shows excellent vehicles.
Hell yeah! Love Monster Sport - the closest thing to factory Suzuki tuning you can get. My Autozam AZ-1 has almost all the Monster Sport you can throw at it: Complete set of bushings, both for suspension and engine, intake, exhaust and turbo gaskets, MLS head gasket, forged pistons, timing belt... and an old Suzuki Sport N1 ECU.
Would love to see a full Monster Sport factory tour!
Finally something about suzuki, thank you so much
Best jdm channel
4:50 that was my lovely shotgun when I played GT2 in PSOne..!!!
ha..ha..ha..it's so nostalgic..
😀😀
Shotgun? 😂 You got me there lol
Shotgun?
@@ijustwant2lookatvids yeah, because the acceleration and power from this pikespeak monster like a wild beast.
🔥🔥
I have been waiting a long time for this!
Same here
Love the intro, very fresh ~ new vibe!
As your big fan, and a swift owner. I'm so glad that finally you cover a review of Suzuki. I thought you only review fast sport car.
Im a fan of Evo X Monster Sport. Currently trying to get all the monster sport parts to install on my cz4a (Evo X) Such as inspiring company
A small reminder/correction the Escudo/Vitara platforms were Mid engine 4wd using a 2.5-2.9 V6 Twin Turbo engine set up around a tube frame. The Cultus/Swift platforms were twin engined based on the G13B twin cam or the G16b twincam hybrid matting a G16 1.6lt Vitara/Esteem block with a G13B Twin cam head from Cultus/Swift GTi.✌👌
Keep those videos coming! Amazing in depth work ✌✌
Hi there ✌🏼
Thanks for dealing some much passion 🙏🏼
I used to drive a SSS1 Z31S
I can tell it is a real sport car and i a way,
A new age Honda Civic EG5 brother.
I mean, it is the same recipe,
1.6L NA, tiny car, fun to drive, easy maintenance, cheap repairs etc etc
Just the fact that new Civic has gone bigger and more powerful, so they are in higher class now, from 200HP for the EP3 to 300+ for the FK2 /8 model so, for 1990's crazy fans like me,
Want some tiny "Gti" - ish cars, the SSS1 and SSS2 are best!
Then the SSS3, is the last GTi ish car in the modern product i believe.
Reason why i love it, even if they are some changes like the Turbo but, i feel it's the way it have to go.
Thanks Monster Tajima! 🇯🇵💪🏼😎
Honda has Ichichima-San,
Suzuki has Tajima - San 👏🏼
🏁😎🤩
From France with passion and respect ✌🏼🇫🇷😎
The Swift Sport is the only spiritual successor of Japanese Turbo hot hatch on the market today, more so than the GR Yaris as the Swift Sport is still an mass produced affordable car.
Awesome video Guys! Good job Ken and Japonik 😊👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Monster Tajima is a legend, greetings from Mexico...great video.
What a great video - thanks 👍
Really love all the content in this channel, so underrated , please don’t stop doing the in-depth car reviews, is like ASMR for gear heads!!!
An in-depth review of an Eunos Cosmo with the 20b engine would be phenomenal!!!
If im not mistaken I believe we call the Suzuki JIMNY the SAMURAI in America. To bad those are long gone over here, they are great little off road cars.
Extra thought out! Leading the way mate
Please do a review on the ZC32S!! The final NA version of the Swift Sport
I like ur videos hi from mexico 🇲🇽 thank u for the info that u give us my friend
I love the way that thing looks! So cool! If I lived in Japan it would definitely be on my list of cars to consider buying.
One of my favorite cars is the 90s Suzuki Alto Works RS/Z
great video , keep up the good video , love ur work
The handling of the Swift is legendary.
That MX-5 is clean af 🤤
I’d love to own a Cappuccino wth it’s so cute, but honestly though, it’s so good
@@jdmimporthouse3786 disfrutalo¡¡
Just a great video on RUclips
He's perfect to do any documentrys on cars
I had a Monster decal on my cultus/swiftGT 20years ago.
Suzuki is love
11:10 was a Maserati GT. Love that car.
This needs to come to the USA
Great video and that Suzuki Jimny is looking amazing, in my country Guatemala (グアテマラ) it was known as the Suzuki Samurai but they renamed when introduced this one. Previous generations of the car have been amazing for offroad, and I mean true off road (not going just over dirt) with rocks, mud, etc. This is due to the distance between axes is pretty short and its lightweight it wont get stucked easily, and if it does, its easy to push it.
I ever get a last gen Jimny im definately upgrading it with some Monster aftermarket parts.
Really wish you went into the history of the swift more..the 80's and 90's GTI's..they were raced at Mount Panorama here in Australia once upon a time and a very sort after little nugget..still are and its my daily drive....not that quick but so much fun!
In asia, they are known as 1-2-3 gear king lol
@@EVOFans Please what does that mean??
Still there 0-60 is actually faster then swift 1.6 sport from 2005 till this latest model. 😎 I have one too.
@@Tom_pr Sweet!..mine is not so fast..1.3 twin cam gti..g13b motor.1994..and its done nearly 600,000 kms! ;)..but engine rebuild about 90K ago....still heaps of fun once you get going though!!.. But It's not going up in JDM value like a Skyline or Silvia:)
This was really awesome 👌 love this video whish can see more like this regarding the other companies swk ,tryforce etc for suzuki
Mantab bang lanjottt salam dari Indonesia i used monster Tajima Escudo in gt2 and gt4 game
The jimny is great, just gotta be careful crossing rivers.....the float.
You should do a test of the suzuki swift sport prepared by monster tajima!
Do the Alto Works. All the generations you can find.
The best
I love the jimmy
:( zero mention of the great suzuki sx4 j20a-j20b ,such a great car ..talk them into comming back to north america :P
Do a togue review of the new ZC33s!
I reckon it would do well considering it’s power to weight ratio!!!
Nice if you can review a monstersport HT81S. I am dailying one with their M19 engine, and loving it every minute.
As you've already done a quick intro to the Honda N-one 6sp, how about driving the monster alto works for comparison? Would really like to hear your thoughts on it!
My friend, you do know that Cappuccino is also a type of small monkey. Cheers from Portugal. Please find some Nissan S chassis cars to us (s13, s14, s15). Best youtube car channel!
Also did you know.. monstersport is the only sporting facility in the world that has all the bells and whistles to build a car from ground dust.
Good video. Serious Captain, for when a video about Rx-8? Hated or loved machine a rotary is a rotary. Deserves attention.
We dont get the new suzuki models in malaysia it is kinda sad because they dont shipping the all suzuki models
I love Suzukis, oh and the Swift is much better and troublefree than the VW Polo. Jimny is our fav off-road! but I wish if u tell us more about the Hustler back there
Hi JDM Masters, don’t forget about Honda’s S660 as one of the current sports Kei cars. I nearly bought one, instead buying the ZC33S. I’m still having ideas of getting one though! Haha!
I didnt know about those cappuccino wheels cause every cappu in Europe had the silver enkei wheels which actually were produced as option for the swift gti (but then gunmetal gray with lolished lip and black centercaps)
Swift Sport weighs in at around 950 kg at least in EU spec, not 1100 😊
Escudo turbo goes stu tuuuu
12:19 Not gonna lie, he looks like Takumi in his 70s
More Jimny Please!!!
Hope you review some Suzuki Swift Sports!
And the old swift gti's please😎
Been trying to buy an ek monster-sport hood for a while now but theyre so damn hard to find :( even a rep would be nice at this point lol, i love their shape.
yeayyyyy
Hey JDM Masters!
Please do an Episode on the Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo (1996 - 1999) and the Mitsubishi FTO Version R in Manual (1997 - 2000)!
Please do not overlook these two Japanese underrated Gems.
Would love a review of the cultus gti awd (mk2/mk3)
Me too. How many are there still, where are they, where are the parts..
Great video!!! Would it be possible to have a LHD ZC33S and make them tune it like the demo car?
Can you do a video on the workshop and servicing
18:57 Not 157 it was the Alfa Romeo 156 but very very impressive that you know that. Big thumb up for that.
He said 147, which also has it, but you are right the 156 came out earlier.
@@HighOnThunder yes walther desilva first designed it on the 156 and took et over to the 2.gen seat leon on his volkswagen times
@@batu1385 Interesting, I knew the Seat Leon had it too, but I didn't know it came from the same designer.
Monstar! Hope it’s not a Chinese made EVO 😂🇯🇵👍🏼🛠🏁
6:40
I’m so impressed with the Jimny, Swift and Capuccino!
Escudo drools
i want that monster pedal for evo 3 lol
Hi, can we please have some footage and info on Monster Pikes Peak cars? Cultus, Escudos etc?
Yes a the pikes peak version of the 1st boxy model swift. I have only seen one picture of it.
I think in initial d anime the suzuki motors is the one who change the engine of ae86
Can you review a rev5 MR2? Either the beams NA one or the turbo. Or at least a rev3 if not :)
Can you do rs aizawa shop review?
Zc31s & zc32s review please....
宮ヶ瀬でこの方みた!
Can you do more Evo x parts content please
Finally something not related to Honda
Please review the JSpeed shop for me.
Can you do about 4x4 brand etc hilux, triton, dmax?
The Suzuki Escudo is the only official Gran Turismo cheat. It is practically the konami code of the simulators.
I have a suzuki swift, been using it till now, just convert to 1.6cc engine, its small yet fun to drive. How bout you cover rrp company that produce part for suzuki as well.
review the first gen and the new jimny
