I'm hoping there will be a housing crisis so I can buy cheaply when I sell a few houses in 2026. As a backup plan, I've been thinking about purchasing stocks. What advice do you have for choosing the best buying time? On the one hand, I continue to read and see trading earnings of over $500k each week. On the other side, I keep hearing that the market is out of control and experiencing a dead cat bounce. Why does this happen?

Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. Took almost 2 years to get it finished enough to move back in. Our insurance cut off our living expense after a year so we needed charity housing. The builder also bailed on us half way through and made off with most of the insurance money. I had to finish the rest myself with my retirement funds and help from friends. I really feel for them because at least we had 4 outside walls and a roof. It was a REAL fight with the insurance every step.

I firmly believe there is a mafiosy in this fire outbreak and will profit the Real Estates. Three fires ignited within a short lapse of time and these three spots when joined by a straight line forms a triangle which technically and mathematically guarantees complete rapid burning inside this triangle. This is mainly the reason why many residents did not have time to pick their necessary and valuable belongings and had to run away as fast as they could. I have been following these events on RUclips since the very first day of the fire, and this is my personal opinion, because I know for sure that there are many businessmen who will do anything to become rich overnight and this might be a conspiracy. I have watched several firefightings on the social media, but this one is really " TERRIBLE " and " MUCH BEYOND MY IMAGINATION ". I do not believe this is an accident. QUOD ERAT DEMONSTRATUM !!!!

Remember that scientists in Italy were tried and jailed for failing to predict earthquakes that destroyed many buildings and killed many civilians.

I live in Southeast Kansas, I met a man at the grocery store last night who moved here 3 months ago. He said the fires are just part of the problem. The biggest problem is the people make a "show" of caring, then vote in users and crooks. He said he sold everything and left after living there over 30 years. His neighbors in CA said it would get better. They said the same thing when Gray Davis was put out of office, when Arnold left office, they told him it had to be better with the next governor. The place he sold burned a few months after the new owner told him he was a fool for leaving the "Golden State", he cashed out a place here.

I just recently got rid of my contractors license because of all of the bureaucracy, rules, restrictions, not to mention they make you carry insurance that you don't even need, it just wasn't worth it anymore. I'm leaving this state as soon as I can. I worked on new houses in Malibu after the original houses burned down in 2017 and it took most of them 3 years to start building, and another couple years to finish. Rebuilding these houses now, might take 5-8 years to finish, and that's if you can find someone to do it.

When I realized LA is set to host not only the Olympics but the Super Bowl AND the World Cup in the next couple of years, it suddenly all made sense. Gavin Newsom was downright gleeful when he talked about rebuilding and creating "LA. 2.0." ...what he didn't say but was hanging there in the air was, "and now that all the private homes are gone we can build it the way we want using money from the US government." I also finally understand why Newsom is fighting so hard to keep his illegal immigrants. Cheap workforce that he can 100% control by threatening deportation if they don’t comply. Harder and harder not to see a conspiracy here.

b.s. with the 1000 year flood. You could get away with 100 year flood with people who have never read the history of the floods in WNC. North Carolina has a long history of floods and Hurricanes dating back to the 1700's. I have read a lot of them. As recent as 1918 there was almost the exact same Hurricane in that western area. you can find images of the devastation in black and white photographs. People where never meant to be dependent on government. People were never meant to be over taxed, doubled taxed or triple taxed.
Socialism has ruined the United States and people now say to government since we are now deeper into socialism people are saying i'd rather not have my tax dollars go to foreign countries because while we were sleeping when it was time to vote we failed to think about the natural disasters that are occurring and we are suffering. They continue with HELP US GOVERNMENT give use back out money! Government says because you were sleeping during voting we have made laws that allow us to send tax money to other countries we have no more money for you the citizen. Government continues on to say, because you were sleeping when it was time to vote we created socialist dependency and now you have no say because we made laws to protect us the government leadership from being held accountable for our decisions.
Kinda late to be waking up after 80 years worth of socialist based laws being established. Kinda Late to vote against League of Nations or the United Nations both of which were established by socialists. In 2015 Obama signed the U.N. agenda 2025 which contains DEI hiring and Redistribution of tax money to the world. While USA citizens were sleeping when it was time to vote.

California does not have the money to rebuild houses. It has been spending money on illegals for a long time and not taking care of Angelenos.
My daughter was in college during the Woolsey fire. She lived on campus in Brentwood. She called me 2 in the morning and told me their was a fire on campus and the kids were running down the hill. The school did not have adequate transportation to get the kids out of harms way.
Many Chinese exchange students lived on campus in a separate quarters in the back of the school. When I arrived to get my daughter, I saw kids running down the hill and standing on the corner of Sunset and Bundy in their pjs.
A lot needs to change in California. The news reported no damage to the school which was not true. The side of the building where my daughter lived was burned. The shed and college pickup truck was burnt to a crisp. My daughter did not receive one dime from the money given to the school from FEMA.
American politicians do not control California, and many people are afraid to speak out for fear of reprimand.
Tremendous change needs to take place in California in order to turn things around. I knew it was a matter of time when these fires were going to go viral and be a major problem for the state.
I hope and pray for the families that lost their homes. But, I think to rebuild in California without new administration might be a big mistake.

These are Modular Homes and not manufactured- meaning they are wood frame construction (stick built) not metal and qualify for traditional lending programs. Luckily, we sold our 1,500-square-foot house in Palisades in December 2023. Now, I live in the Valley, where those winds were absolutely insane. On the day of the fire, the Fire Chief stationed on Pacific Coast Highway knew there was nothing they could do except save lives. He moved the headquarters to Zuma Beach! The whole situation highlighted LA’s complete mismanagement of resources and planning. In my opinion, Palisades was doomed, and no amount of preparation could have stopped it from going up in flames.
The Eaton Fire? I have no idea what happened there. But the Kenneth Fire, which came less than two miles from my house, was a different story. That fire was handled incredibly well and was put out effectively. It was a clear example of good planning and execution.

It’s not just about the loss of properties, jobs & infrastructure, the overwhelming pollution that will have leached into the ground, water table & Sea is going to take a long time before it’s safe. Like what happened in NY with the towers who knows what the health implications this will have on those in the future who got caught up in the worse of it, let alone for the lucky few that still have properties if they decide to stay it may not be healthy to do so in the long run for them.
Obvious terrible mismanagement by the political officials in the State & they should indeed be held accountable & receive some form of punishment for their actions (or lack of). It would also serve to be a reminder to them & others in similar positions across America & the World that they are public servants accountable to the people & not just a position for them to squander perks & expand their wealth at the expense of the general populous or implement unconscionable grandiose schemes.

Noise till 10 O'clock at night. Thieves abounded looking for materials and anything else not tied down. Then when they knocked down the construction shacks where the workers lived the rats infested the neighborhood. I sold at the top of the market (January 2008) and moved to an established small town in the country 5 miles from the same place. 20 cents on the dollar. Prices didn't recover for another 10 years. The construction continues to this day. But not in my old, quiet, peaceful little town. Alas, when I go to the beach, there's no place to park!

I think it was planned just like the Hawaii fires, so developers could buy the land for pennies on the $ but honestly, most people are just gonna leave the area or state.

My cousin lost her home from the Altadena fire. Literately not even a mile from ground zero about 0.9 miles. Basically a 10 minute bike ride distance from where the fire started. There house is south of Eaton Canyon Trail Head. My cousin and her family are fine and we have a strong family support system. I've been to her house once 9 years ago for a family gathering and remember her neighbors had peacocks. I can only wonder what happened to them.

not to mention other city amenities ... the local business, markets, mechanics, libraries, schools, daycares, building the roads, electrical poles, the sewers have to be cleaned out, sidewalks, greenscapes, hills need to be retained, new water lines, new gas lines, painting street stripes ... etc., etc., etc. ..... WE TOLD YOU VOTE REPUBLICAN

They definitely should have kept the brush down around the houses so they wouldn't have burned down like that. I definitely think the government is responsible

I can remember my family always hosing down everything. The house and everything around it. Every fire that ripped through would skip their houses. I remember everything black and burned but their houses still standing. They're all still standing but have been owned by different people for many years now.

We were camping up in Sequoia three years ago in 2021 and they had been chopping wood and branches from the trees and just left them lay underneath the pine trees I asked are you guys going to pick this up? They said no we’ll get to it next year there’s no money to clean it up. I said that’s a big fire hazard and they just looked at me and started talking about climate control and how everything is dry I’m like if you’re worried about climate control and everything as dry shit in that stuff under the tree be picked up no answer just looked at me weird and shrunk their shoulders .

The question is was there no state money or was there no federal money? Almost all the Sequoias are on lands owned and managed by the feds.

This was planned. They knew there would be blowback. They probably gave Gavin and his buddies a bunch of drugs to keep them high so they could take the verbal attacks. Nothing is going to happen to them because this was all planned. They did their job.A lot of evidence was burned in those fires. Sex trafficking evidence. Tunnels underground.
