No. 438 leading the race at the start is my uncle Sam Eglen, sadly killed in a road accident near Newmarket while working as a lorry driver in December 1982. Still loved and sorely missed every day…
This is simply fantastic stuff!!!.....i wish Sky or someone similar would gather all this old archive and re-run it. It would be excellent viewing, and would also let the modern drivers see that these banger races can be fun, and that you don't have to try and kill other drivers to win!! Brilliant entertainment.
Wow ! Thanks for putting this on !! Great days ! wish there was more footage of the days of Foxy, Gray Davis, Geoff Munn, Graham North, Keep it coming !!
Great to see footage from the old days. I see the name Ricky Royal mentioned and he used to be best friends with Dave Cook 440 for whom I was mechanic for 3 years back in the day. Often wondered what happened to Dave Cook and other people from the Heathlands pub where the car was stored and worked on.
Kevind remember all these aubreydance (70) grey Davis (195) chrisgautrey (183) eddiegeorge(226)bobhowe(108) mick collard(19) commentator Nigel king great guys great days spedeworthe
good to c a video when stock saloons were stock saloons old cars like MG MAGNETS FIAT VOLVO`S those were the days when action was on the track from the green flag 2 the chequered flag
Watchable because these cars on the track back then were also seen in scrapyards.

I was only a kid going to arlington with my dad but i always remember aubrey "foxy" dance.
i knew a guy who did this in the 1970's , he used to use a daimler v8 and also raced a pc cresta !
Stock saloons were restricted to 1800cc in the seventies. Daimler is 2500cc and pc cresta is 3300cc both were never stock saloons
Superb, anyone got anymore from this era?

459 Ricky Royal, my old boss, I used to help him a little build his cars, back in the day, the good old days.
When racing was real! Thank you!
Gentleman Jeff Munn :) Remember him well along with 542 Malcolm "Dutch Cloggy" Holland
there must have been quite a few of these still around in the 1970s.
Amazing! Thank you for uploading :)
Whats the difference between this and banger racing
A quick wake up the back and if don't get out the way, it's into the fence with em ha ha
"Gentleman" Jeff Munn lol !
Where is this please ?

what type of car is 120? the one that nearly lost its half shaft - looks bigger than a magnette
looks like a wolseley 15/50 or 4/44 which shared the same shell as the mg magnette
