The tier down approach has gotten so popular its almost hard to do now. So this offseason I've started to look at pivoting to the tier up to take advantage...

Yeah, I did this with Olave, and yet got a stupid haul in return. Managed to get London, Addison and a 2025 1st.
Don't hold onto a player because you like them. Take the value.
Also forget the name sometimes. Look at the stats. Olave hasn't yet done anything worthy of being in a high tier in Fantasy. His return these past 2 seasons have not matched his value, yet his name carries him into high tiers.

Ur looking at the wrong stats if that’s ur conclusion. Olave has consistently been at like a 25% target share and tprr his last couple years while commanding the ball down the field. And his yprr has been great both years. It was insane as a rookie, but 2.08 this year is still very respectable. The problem is his qb couldn’t connect with him on the deep ball. Long term when he gets a qb that can put the deep ball on the money he is going to be unreal. Good on you for getting that huge return, you definitely won that deal. But more of the stats show Olave is incredibly due to break out into superstardom than they show that he isn’t a meaningful fantasy asset. Lmao it isn’t just his name value propping him up it’s ppl understanding how good he’s been with bad qb play

@@user-uv5qr3gc4i fair comment here, however, the "when he gets a QB" can only get him so far. this will be his 3rd season without that QB... how much longer we waiting. The WR room is about to be income overloaded with prospects, and I can't be waiting around in the hope that Saints take a QB in the next few seasons, or stick with Carr again. The situation is the overruling factor here for me...
It’s been tough to move off of CJ Stroud for what feels like fair value. People are taking him 1.03 in startups but won’t pay 1.03 prices for him on the open market from what I’ve seen in my 40 leagues
i feel you- big moves for high end assets like stroud don’t happen all the time. just things and ideas to keep in mind.
if i can’t flip-it’s not like im unhappy having stroud.

As many have said already here, tiering down is becoming so popular that it is hard to do now, especially as draft pick values are increasing.
Depending on team situation, I am always looking to tier down or tier up.
I have one team with too many assets, not enough slots, so I have to tier up. Like last off-season I traded away Jaylen Waddle + Garrett Wilson for Justin Jefferson.
Still have my bench loaded with players like Puka, London, JSN, Flowers, ETN, etc.
im absolutely good with that consolidation up to the elite asset in the game. especially if u have a lot of depth. well done

@@taureanskinner3172, I have been spamming the league trying to trade JSN, doesn't seem like anyone wants him, not for a 1st round rookie pick anyway (SF).
Tried shopping stroud but nobody wanted to give me tier 1 prices for him so I’m just holding for now. I think he will be like burrow/Herbert where he will hold his value for a long time even if he drops to that tier 2 level
yeah it’s definitely not a lock to be able to move him for big moves in every different market

How different is the market for QB in a 10 team league? Would you still move Stroud? I'm debating asking for the 1.03, 1.06 and Bryce Young for him. Already have Herbert, Kyler and 1.02 on roster.
In 10 tm I’d be more willing to move him because the positional scarcity is not as high.
i might try and see what I could get in skill players if u left Bryce off of the deal. but I’m good with moving him with herbs ans kyler

if this is 12 tm sf- its really close. id probably rather tlaw than maye. but the 1.04 might give you a lot more flexibility if u wanted to try and trade into a different tier

in a 1qb i am not making that move to 1.04

I moved him today for the 1.05/Gabe/Kendre. I am in full rebuild and am trying to get as many picks/players I can. I moved the 1.01, 1.02 and 2.12 for what’s turned into 3 players, 1.05/1.06/1.12/2.01/2.03/2.06. I like GW more as a player but with Rodgers uncertainty after this year I’m moving while I still can with this high value.

i like it. jeudy to the 1.04 is a massive win.
Some of these tier downs are just bad. Depth is important and u gotta have a complete lineup but all of these guys are young, why tier down for worse players and a pick u hope turns into a good player instead of just keeping the rlly good player and building around them. I wouldn’t even consider half those deals. I want the best player in a deal. Bench points do you nothing

if im coming off Allen I gotta pick up at least 1 solid mid first or player in that range minimum to do down to someone like arich. if you’re willing to go to someone like kyler or love u might be able to get 1st plus. (this is assuming 12 tm sf league. if it is different than that lmk)

I traded Olave and the 1.08 for Aiyuk and the 1.07. Small trade, but I think there’s such a massive tier drop after the 1.07 that it was a great move.
I have a question. I prepared ahead of time. I love the idea you had on the trade that involved getting Love in return. Thing is, I drafted both of them. Knowing that, what kind of trade would you look for if you’ve prepared and don’t need a QB in return?

I’ve been a notorious “married to the player” type of dynasty manager when it comes to high-grade guys.
But last week I attempted a tier down in a 12 TM SF…. Sold Olave + 3.12 FOR Pittman + 2.06.
Thoughts on my first real tier down? Pass or fail? 😅
Not a fan. I doubt pittman will go up in significant value

i’d still put him on the block personally. there are a healthy number of recent deals where trading him away nets a haul.
if you aren’t able to get a deal done that u are comfortable with, nothing wrong with holding him.

I've got Wilson and stroud and NOBODY will trade their first round picks. These examples are pretty useless for me.

Sorry man, but this seems like a bad deal. You have no guarantees with any of these picks. The 2.04 is what? Tez Walker, AD Mitch... That's such a low ball return for Wilson, and the 2025 class looks nowhere near as deep as this class.
I'd be wanting a current WR alongside the 2.04 and the 25 1st to give me something in the deal that isn't just all a lottery ticket. Someone like Addison, Reed, Downs etc.
I hope it works out for you, but it could be one of those hard to look back on deals...
