One of the, if not, the best product to ever grace the Switch. Kudos to y’all for building one of the most solid grips (if you can call this beast that). I can’t wait to see what new models drop in the future.
One trick that I learned works pretty well for Metroid Prime Remastered is mapping the back paddles by holding X, pressing a D-Pad button, then letting go of X. It pretty seamlessly lets you switch beam weapons with the back paddles while keeping the D-Pad free for switching visors.
Ok I got one of the crystal decks so i was already using this firmware, but I do hope to be able to influence the next version abit more. Basically I really want a design revision where the stick and button placement are less like joycons, being completely straight and uniform causing my right thumb to nudge the right stick alot when im tapping the right face buttons, and more like the typical pro controller or an xbox controller with the right stick being abit closer to the center and less likely to be in the way when pressing A/B/X/Y buttons.
This. This. This. The offset sticks on this large ergo dock make NO SENSE. I actually find myself struggling with the right stick a little bit. Would be cool to have a "premium" version like scuff that would be more customizable.. OR... even better.. same price... just move the right stick up where the left stick is. That would be way more comfy. That said I still love the nitro.

To me the greatest part of the update is not even being mentioned. Before the update when I had the Nitro Deck plugged in for a long time and came back to it it wouldn't work until I disconnected it. Now it works with no problem at all. Considering I do most of my playing in my bed this is much more of a quality of life thing than adjustable rumble.

I have heard about the button placement and all but I switch between system controllers all the time I understand others may not like the nitro deck and I respect that but I’m looking forward to getting this.

I hope they make another version with the button layouts to something similar like the Pro Controller or the Steam Deck. This is the only thing I want to use to play games on my switch now and as much as I want to keep using it as my everyday controller, its current button layout is uncomfortable to use.
Please make one where the thumstick isn't directly below the face buttons. When playing old games where you have to use Y and B, the thumstick will get in the way.
This issue made me return mine. Rest of the device is topnotch but playing Mario Bros Wonder for example is horrible. Many times you touch the right stick with your thumb when running and jumping. Frustrated me a lot. Hope for an adjusted model with different right stick placement.
Looking forward to trying this motion control update. It really messed with me the vertical worked just as good as the joycons but the horizontal was practically nonexistent. Thought there was something work with my in-game controls. I hope this fixes that. I'd hate to go back to the joycons, especially after going big with the Retro Purple, since my switch rails are going through some funky times again. Edit(after the update): Well, turning like a wheel works but the motion controls aren't up there to joycon levels for me. Vertically, oh yeah, it works! You can flip or point up or down and it moves like you would expect. Horizontally, you can't turn the console itself while using this and expect the same result, you gotta turn your body with it; like scanning the room and even that isn't good. Rotating works pretty good but i'm not trying to use this like a wheel. Especially when playing Warframe. Its a great product but I'll probably be alternating between the two, when i'm tired of my joycons disconnecting due to my old switch rails. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. The options are still the same as they were for the joycons. Even calibrated the motion controls for both before trying again. **Edit EDIT** (After more extensive testing): It seems it only happens to games Licensed by Nintendo. Warframe and one other game I use to play suffers from the controller not going full/true omni-directional with the motion controls. When keeping the Nitro Deck connected, and attempting to transfer Screenshots/Videos over USB, it seems like the Nitro Deck needs to be completely disconnected for the feature to work. Sooo after firmware update, I tried out the dead zone mode, or at least I thought I did. I was watching the video on how to enter it and I don’t know if I did it right because it doesn’t say to continue to hold the button for 8 sec or hold it for 3 til it’s blue then release, I was confused. so I tried again and now after a couple of back and forth I have no idea if I’m in no dead zone mode or not. How do I tell or how do I factory set it back? Any help is much appreciated
Is there a way to swap the d pad and stick control mapping? I ask because one of the games I am playing doesn't use the stick but the d pad is a bit awkward for my thumbs so I'd love to remap the d pad onto the stick for this game. Is that an option? It is not within the game's control remapping.
I got a gray one recently.. And everything else is working fine and I love it. The one thing that ain’t working for me is the charging. I can’t get my switch to charge with it..
Why even have hall effect triggers on this? ZL and ZR are digital buttons on the Switch. Are there any games that support analog triggers with the Nitro Deck?
The lowest rumble strength will completely turn off the rumble, and the highest strength will vibrate 5 times letting you know that you have reached maximum rumble. If you think the rumble on your Nitro Deck is not working as designed, please reach out to our customer service.
Question: I’ll probably buy one, but I wanted to know if you can select a specific button for rapid fire and turn it on and off at will? For example, I want rapid fire at one moment, click a button, and the rapid fire is off. Is the Nitro deck capable of this?
While the turbo button can't be specifically programmed to a single button press, turning the turbo on and off is already designed for quick and convenient usage!
Currently, firmware updates for the Nitro Deck are only supported on Windows. However, we are actively working on expanding compatibility to include other computer programs in the future. Stay tuned for updates on this development!
I would definitely appreciate this. I'm constantly lowering it to the lowest brightness or taking it off completely when time I unlock/power up my switch
I'd like a redesign of this, I've had my CRKD Nitro Deck (black) since its official release now & the right joystick position is very awkward due to it being too close to the edge of the grip. If you could just move the dpad & right joystick 5-6mm inward towards where the tablet sits, that might make it feel a little more comfortable. It won't fix it entirely but it would be better than it is, I get cramps in my thumbs using it & that way you won't need to add extra bulk. Also it would be very welcome if you could sell some lower height stick tops, I noticed there's quite a bit of room under the tops when you tilt the sticks to the limit.
Nice ! ❤ love your work however I wish if the update tool be available on MacOS !! I had to borrow someone’s PC for this .. also it would’ve been much smoother for us to update firmware with the companion app , thank you

Unfortunately, the firmware update for the Nitro Deck is solely compatible with Windows, and as Linux doesn't support Windows applications, updating through Arch Linux wouldn't be possible.
Hello CRKD, I recently bought a nitro deck from a friend but can't figure out why it keeps saying it's connected to another "Collector", can there be an update to wipe/clean/reset the entire Nitro Deck or at least giving it another NFC code to register? I love it so far, but it's more convenient if I can use the app to make changes to this.

To optimize your Nitro Deck experience, ensure your Windows is updated to the latest version, as this might be causing the connectivity issue during updates. It's accurate that the new Crystal Edition Nitro Decks come pre-loaded with the latest firmware, eliminating the need for immediate updates.
I've had the purple one for a few weeks, was working great until a couple of days before this update, where it just stopped working, like the buttons and sticks wouldn't do anything, but it was connected according to the home button being lit up (I have it connected to switch oled). After the update, it started working again up until yesterday, and now it isn't responding again. Is there a fix for this? I really enjoyed using it, but am considering returning it for a refund if it's not going to work. Really frustrating because it worked fine for weeks 😕
Anyone else having issues being able to tell if you’re in No Deadzone Mode or not? 😅 Maybe it’s just me. I forget if I have No Deadzone Mode on or off. I just keep toggling the mode, but I have very little clue if I’m actually using No DeadZone Mode on or off. Wish the CRKD button would blink blue Once if On & blue twice if Off or something 😅

Can this update be done on a MacBook?
Unfortunately not at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Great video! I want to ask though how do I know if this is the last rumble strength because the rumble feels so soft on my end.
The lowest rumble strength will completely turn off the rumble, and the highest strength will vibrate 5 times letting you know that you have reached maximum rumble. If you think the rumble on your Nitro Deck is not working as designed, please reach out to our customer service.
Yeah Im not going to remember any of that and I have 4 nitro decks. I simply watched the video because it had Marcus in it 🤣
He is made for the big screen
What about us Mac users?
Question: I’ll probably buy one, but I wanted to know if you can select a specific button for rapid fire and turn it on and off at will? For example, I want rapid fire at one moment, click a button, and the rapid fire is off. Is the Nitro deck capable of this?
While the turbo button can't be specifically programmed to a single button press, turning the turbo on and off is already designed for quick and convenient usage!
Can I turn on the switch with the home button ? Does the last established led brithnesss level remains memorized when everytime I turn the swith on ?
So if you don't have a PC, you can't update it?
At this time, PC/Windows is the only way of updating. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I don’t have a windows pc, so… now what
Is any way to upgrade the firmware from Mac?
not at this time
Awesome. Is there any possibility for updating the firmware via Linux in the future?
Currently, firmware updates for the Nitro Deck are only supported on Windows. However, we are actively working on expanding compatibility to include other computer programs in the future. Stay tuned for updates on this development!
When is the nitro deck plus coming to market?
Will start releasing at the end of the month!
Just received my Pal Gray Nitro Deck today, and getting used to using it n will update it tomorrow & has anyone downloaded the app?
Can we please get a setting to save the led brightness instead of doing it everytime we turn it on
I would definitely appreciate this. I'm constantly lowering it to the lowest brightness or taking it off completely when time I unlock/power up my switch
Can you release a felt back pad? My switch gets scraped when inserting.
Also it would be very welcome if you could sell some lower height stick tops, I noticed there's quite a bit of room under the tops when you tilt the sticks to the limit.
check recent video!
@@crkdgg That doesn't answer his question or fix his problem....
Nice ! ❤ love your work however I wish if the update tool be available on MacOS !! I had to borrow someone’s PC for this .. also it would’ve been much smoother for us to update firmware with the companion app , thank you
In my nitrodeck mint i Had problem with connection maybe ??
In Main menu its working, but when i try to used In game (lets go Pikachu) any buttons are not working...
Any ideas what's going on??
Unfortunately the Nitro Deck does not work with Let's Go Pikachu, we apologize for the inconvenience.
I’ve seen the comments about Mac, but what about Arch Linux? Can we update it through there? I want to know before I purchase.
Hi there, apologies for the delayed response over the holidays. Could you please reach out to support@crkd.gg they will be happy to assist you with this matter!
@@crkdggUnfortunately they have. My friend contacted them and they claimed my friend had no account on the nitro deck that he sold to me. So now there's an account I cannot remove on my nitro deck when I scan it with my app.
My nitro deck can't seem to be detected by the .exe I follow the directions step by step and even tried it in wired mode but still nothing please someone help!
Have you tried running the file in administrator mode? That seemed to work for others.
Extract it out of the Zip file, and run in administrator mode.
@crkdgg I have yes but I will try again to be sure. Thanks so much for your reply!
@SoukaDeezNutz so I have free winzip so I'm able to extract the file. Yeah
tried running the .Exe in admin mode and still nothing its not detecting my nitro deck@@crkdgg
When a Mac and Linux compatibility?
Really love my Nitro Deck but i can not update it says no connect.
I think my windows is to old.
I bought Gamecube limited color edition.
I heard the new colors have the new update from start.
To optimize your Nitro Deck experience, ensure your Windows is updated to the latest version, as this might be causing the connectivity issue during updates. It's accurate that the new Crystal Edition Nitro Decks come pre-loaded with the latest firmware, eliminating the need for immediate updates.
I pre-ordered the Persona 3 Portable Nitrodeck, I assume that model already has this firmware update?
Hey there, sorry for the delayed response over the holidays. Yes all future models will come with latest firmware update.
I cannot change the rumble, I've got the black nitro and just unsure how to do this
Shoot our team an email at support@crkd.gg, they would be happy to assist with troubleshooting your device!
Hi there. Sorry to hear about the issues! Could you please reach out to support@crkd.gg they will be happy to help assist you! We're hear to help!
Just updated mine.
🤝
Thats sucks I cant update bc we are a Mac household so do I need to buy a computer just to update ? or should I just return my nitro deck ?
no, just return the MacinTRASH and buy a real PC with Microsoft Windows!
Any way the led can stay unlit if I set it to off and I'd really like if it didn't.
My nitro deck won’t work/ pair to my switch unless it’s plugged in to my charger, I just got this think last week.
Can we get a chrome os version of the updater?
Please make the motion controls compatible with FPS games as of right now the motion controls on my nitro deck the FPS motion controls are awkward
What’s the default rumble strength out of the 6 settings?
Anyone else having issues being able to tell if you’re in No Deadzone Mode or not? 😅 Maybe it’s just me. I forget if I have No Deadzone Mode on or off. I just keep toggling the mode, but I have very little clue if I’m actually using No DeadZone Mode on or off. Wish the CRKD button would blink blue Once if On & blue twice if Off or something 😅
Really sad that, that purple one isn’t coming back 😭😭😭 I was to late to the Nitro Deck game 😔
Can we please get the ability to cycle through the led colors? Id love to keep my black nitrodeck on the orange or red.
Thank you for your suggestion to cycle through LED colors on the Nitro Deck. Currently, the LED colors are designed for specific actions, and implementing cycling may compromise functionality. We appreciate your input and will relay it to our team!
Hi CRKD team, i had an issue after update firmware that when i plugged in to charge my switch nitrodeck, sometimes my switch suddenly shut down and I couldnt turn it on, I had to remove it from nitrodeck to charge and wake it up. Do you have any solution for this? Thank you so much!!!
Hmm that's a new one for me. Could you please reach out to support@crkd.gg to see if they have encountered this issue before? Thank you!
Hello, I had 3 nitro deck and no one can map "+-" buttons, is a knowing issue? I don't think is bad luck
I have oled model switch
hi there have you tried reaching out to support@crkd.gg ?? they will be happy to assist you!
