Did you know that WWII Black veterans and descendants are STILL not allowed GI bill benefits? Can you imagine teaching WWII and GI Bill and not mentioning that 1 million Black veteran were excluded. There is a bill in the house and senate to change this. Authentic CRT seeks to uncover and remedy these inequities caused by systemic racism.
More needs to be said about the distinction, if there really is one, between Critical Theory, critical theory, and critical race theory. Too many people believe these are all one and the same, after truly investigating them, for this to be dismissed with words that amount to, "trust me, they're different." As the speaker continues, her political allegiances become clearer, and this becomes a lesson only for the already-friendly listener. One can "trust" that the educational standards of 1994 that brought protests from many were simply a balanced course charted between theory and practice in American life, "trust" that Republicans were merely cynical opportunists making a power grab, and "trust" that the main reason to oppose the standards arises as a type of psychosis when one perceives a personal "threat to her story". But this is merely an exercise in one Christian dismissing the views of many, out of whom a large portion profess Christianity, as well; my trust only grows in as much as I agree the speaker has the truth and the rest of those Christians do not. The teaching of history has, indeed, gone in the direction of embracing Howard Zinn's so-called "book on American history." Mary Grabat's book exposing Zinn as an American-hating Marxist, charlatan plagiarizer, and a liar, should be required reading before anyone decides whether the standards of teaching American history represent a balanced approach.
There are some obvious conceivable compromises, like protecting freedom of speech, the right to full due process for people accused of some offense, protecting the right to be treated like a worthwhile human being, for everyone, including professors on both the left and right, including adjuncts - who also ought to be paid better - but the political partisans are too rabid to tolerate fairness for the other side. A society that co-operates with sadism, with dehumanization of some people, with labeling some people as worthless, particularly starting when those people are children, is likely to find itself being divided and conquered by forces that are looking to destroy liberalism and democracy. Which both sides will be destroyed by, as political violence increases.

This was so helpful to listen to. Thank you for your perspective. Going to save it to refer back to it later!

Why is the Church that supports critical race theory gives an example from Martin Luther King but ignores Malcolm X?
Why would any Christian ever quote Malcom x except to refute his hateful, racist version of Muslim Caliphate.
The _"most basic definition"_ of Critical Race Theory is at 3:32 & 8:34.
Good video for tons of people to watch but won't.
🤦♂️🙄🤡
