About a week ago I told my husband I was thinking about buying a reel mower for one of my fenced areas and a pathway. We live on an old farm (grandparent’s originally), and I never know what might be in all the buildings. He said, “I think there’s one in the building with the tool quad. Bingo! Free reel mower😊
Love that!
I use mine frequently! I never run out of gas or need mechanical work.
Love the pond. My aunt and uncle had the same onthier property, they made three ponds at different levels, each with overflow onto the next pond and the bottom pond had only one overflow pipe into an irrigation ditch worked great for them, they also had fish in thier ponds...so beaitiful! Keep living the good life!💦🦋🐄🦆🐟🐢🐸🌄❤Karen Bennett
We own 13 Greenstalks now and have grown so much produce vertically, which saves my back. I have severe back issues and can no longer get down into the dirt to garden. I also have raised beds, but love the Greenstalks!
Do u live in Canada? I tried to order them from Canada but the shipping cost more than the greenstock?
Chelsea, you are such a blessing to others. I'm given more faith in humanity every time I tune in to your videos. Many blessings to you my love. I pray for healing over you and your discomfort so you may continue to look well after the ways of your household. 🙌💞
Thank you for that. I needed to hear that.♥️
I hope your back feels better soon Chelsea, there’s nothing more debilitating than back pain. The plant stocks look awesome, I will have to check to see if they are available in Australia. And I can’t wait to see you all skating on the pond in Winter!
Good to see you Chelsea. Why did the tomato blush? Because it saw the salad dressing! lol lol Greenstalks are wonderful. The push mower is great and yes a work out indeed. Helps to keep that blade really sharp. The soil you were digging is is incredible along with your pond. Crazy how that has filled up and yes so clear as well. Excited about the draw tonight. Wish everyone luck! So nice of you do that Chelsea. Cheers
I've had experience with a non-motorized push mower. It worked great as long as I didn't let the grass get too tall. Reasonably safe machine for older children to use. Good luck with yours.
When my husband was a very small child, he called this push mower a “henna-wee-we”. No idea how he came up with that name, but it stuck through the family.
Your garden gets more beautiful everyday! And I love the new greenstalk. Aren't they fun?
The bunting flags are absolutely lovely! Kudos to the viewer / maker.
I love your content, you're so wholesome and I rarely miss a video!
💚 Wow, all the spring water forming a pond up there, that is awesome! That soil is SO rich looking. Hope your back is better soon. 💚
I enjoy your videos so much. I get excited when I see your notifications. Your love & enthusiasm of your gardens shines. I enjoy all of your content & use many of your cooking hints. So happy I found your channel about 7 months or so ago. Have a great weekend Chelsea 😊
The pond is going to be spectacular. Can’t wait to see the transformation. ❤️
Garden and Greenstalks look amazing. So sorry about your back! Praying for quick healing. You work harder than most of us with good backs! Val C
Just love all of your videos. Your farm is beautiful. I grew up on a farm in NJ.
I bet the kids would have fun using that mower. My grandson loves his, he’s ten. Just remember they need frequent sharpening to keep them easy to mow.
When we use the liquid fish fertilizer we get racoons digging everything up!
The sweet potato vines will grow like crazy. You can prune them and stick the cuttings in a pot and grow more. They’re great in planters with petunias or whatever.
This year is my first attempt at sweet potatoes. Thank you for that info! So good to know!
Chelsea, Take from a 92-year-old. Make sure your back is completely healed before you start working it hard? Otherwise, you will have the problem for the rest of your life.
Trust me on this. Leave the handing mowing to one of the kids for now.
P.S. I would hire a pond person who builds them as they know what works & what doesn't when digging a new pond.
I’m trying to figure out a way to rearrange my sewing room so that I can have some potted flowers in a bright window. Would definitely brighten up a special place for me. 😊
Looking forward to the newsletter Chelsea! Every time I watch your channel, I feel like I took a little trip out to the country and it clears my head - thank you so much for that!
Great visit; thanks for sharing! Beautiful plants! 🤗🇨🇦
The greenstalks are fun, I finally got one too. 😅 but then my daughter loved it, so I gifted it to her. 🤷♀️ what love does 😂.
So now I have to get another one.
Also, I loved my little push mower. It is a great little workout for small chores.
I hope your back get better soon, I have a bad back and it's not fun.
God bless 🙏 ❤
Take that petunia that broke off and propagate it. You could get two new petunia's from it. Those green stalks look so nice.
Your kids may want to give the push mower a try. It might be fun for them...at least the newness of it. I am excited for your pond. Sounds like it will be big. You could stock it. If it is deep enough the fish should be able to live through the winter. I may have to buy one of those towers. They are gorgeous!
Great to see you again! I hope you get your back back soon!!😊
Thanks for sharing your life with us!! That's a cool idea for planters!
Chelsea I made your cinnamon rolls today and they are a hit!! I just wanted to try a new recipe and the buns are super moist and tender. We love them. I did half cream cheese frosting and half a simple glaze and both were loved so thank you my sweet friend. Sending hugs and blessings to you and yours! ~ Lisa
Things are looking good. Just something to consider - a rope to secure the green stalk so it doesn't blow over in strong winds coming off the flats might be an idea. I am amazed at how quickly that pond filled in. That soil looks rich but with it's higher clay content (why it holds water) it may be somewhat anaerobic - will be interesting to see how the plants do in it. I know when I dug my dug out in an old slough bottom, I had to leave the soil drain for a year as it was impossible to deal with otherwise - but once the soil was spread it did grow well and retained water although it would "punch out" when wet. I hit an underground stream with my dig. Interested to see how you guys develop that area. Good video.
I wondered the same thing, but there’s also a fair bit of sand in it, too so it’s draining and drying out quickly.
@@LittleMountainRanch Interesting.
The buntings are so pretty! You have some sweet subscribers!
Thank you, Chelsea. I found the link to sign up for your newsletter. I’ve wanted to do this for quite some time. I’m so excited to read everything that you have in your newsletter.. God bless you and your family
I'm so happy learning so much from youl❤😊 8:55 8:58
those sweet potato vines get big and unruley good for hanging baskets or big pots around the sides.
I love my hand power mower 🥰🌱
I 🩷Clover! I remember my father mowing our lawn with the old fashioned push mower…whir!
Love, love, love that push mower. It brought back a flood of memories working with my grandpa in the yard when I was a kid. ❤
The bunting flags are so pretty!!
Poor you for hurting your back, just go easy and let it heal, wonderful news about the pond that will certainly m ake your life so much easier.
I so enjoy these outdoor videos! It's fun to see your garden excitement and know that's how I am also. It's nice to see I'm not alone in that garden geekiness!
Glad to hear about pond so you did hit gold. So sorry to hear about your back I find a heat pad helps my back when my pain medication is not helping at all. And it is strong stuff for arthritis. But the heat pad works wonders and let's me sleep. If it doesn't ease of might be worth a try. I never knew you could get lemon cucumbers.?
They’re round and yellow.
Good Morning! I absolutely love your vlogs and look forward to each one. I hate to be a worrier but are you prepared for this new flow of water? You said it ran over the pond you dug but where is it going to go? What path will it take? Will it flow to where it floods part of your property? How about your neighbors, have they prepared their property to receive it? It seems like you have extensive acreage but water always wins, as does gravity. It’s going to end up somewhere and I would hate to see you end up with a problem on your hands.
We have a. ditch system that empties into a creek that then flows to a major river and all this water is already going there.♥️
The GS looked so pretty sitting where you put it. Pond Yea!!!!
Also, I LOVE the tidying up montage of the high tunnel! It’s so nice to see the work that goes into the cleanup even though it’s less glamorous 💚
Those are beautiful bunting flags!
I love your newsletters! I had to laugh when I saw your reel mower in the box. My husband just took ours out of the shed for the first time yesterday (had it for a few years) and he wanted to cut some taller weeds. He had so much fun he ended up mowing my front and back yard. He was amazed how well it mowed and he felt good with all the exercise it gave him. I love where you put your new Greenstock Planter. It will be so beautiful when in full bloom as well as all the other flowers!! Have a great day!
Love the new mower . The pond work is awesome. Thank you for sharing
I cannot believe what you accomplish in a day! Everything is looking so healthy. Just need a few days of sunshine!😍🇨🇦
Congrats to your winner Linda D ❤❤❤
What a pretty gift someone made for you 😍
I hope that you and your back feel much better soon!
I remember using a reel mower to do the yard when I was a kid. Kids wouldn't like that now. Spoiled.
My son loves to use mine! It’s not very straight but he does his best.
Look forward to seeing your news letter and watching you ❤
Chiropractor and a deep massage. Look after yourself and be careful. Gardening is a sport. A intense physical sport. So now I work out before the gardening season begins. Like spring training. A few years ago, the end of Covid lockdowns, it was spring and I was out planting in my big window box, and had just stepped down off the chair to pick up the bag of potting soil, and then there was a snap. And that was that. I had just twisted wrong. I was in so much pain in my knee, I had to call my son to help me into the house, and I was on crutches for weeks. The Doctor sent me to a sports clinic in the city for weekly therapy sessions. But of course, a true die hard gardener never lets anything stop them. So crutches, pain pills and all, I crawled along in the dirt, and got my potatoes planted, all my pots planted, and everything else I had sitting there begging me to plant them. I don't know, maybe I'm nuts or it's a Canadian thing. Nothing stops me from doing what I want to do.
My potato’s are growing like crazy , this is my first year of planting them .
Yay!
With a reel mower don’t let it get too tall. Harder to mow.
I remember also pushing one when I was a child
I wish I could work as fast as you! (lol)
My Dad only used a reel mower on his bermuda grass lawn in West Texas. He refused to get a powered mower because it was his exercise workout. I tried one as an adult, not for me here in our subtropical climate.
Great job on garden and pond!
What you need, is to go see a really good chiropracter. That and a really good massage therapist. They work wonders.
Your joy is infectious...I just love it! ❤❤❤
Suddenly your garden just EXPLODES! Lovely.
It’s like magic!
Greenstalks, you might want to get thier supports, they contain a tall bushy plant ( like peppers) but also supports climbers like your squash/cukes. I found they grew great without them, but things with hollow/ delicate stems broke much easier, without the soft rounded edge of the support. You can also use them to cover your greenstalks too, for bugs/ shade/ extend seasons. They can also be adjusted for one pocket of many. Very worth the $. I did try sticks, but thats didn't work as well.
Enjoyed the video 😊
Hi sweet Chelsea, I've been catching up on your videos lately.😀 I'm so grateful you share ‼️
You're going to love the workout you get from your push mower It's invigorating! I had a friend of mine find me an old-fashioned one on Facebook marketplace a few years ago and I love using it! With mine I can't let the grass get too high or it won't cut it at all it's an old one.
L 🩷Ve & appreciate your channel. I adore watching your husband and you love on your land and provide for your family. Blessings Dear One 🪽
A lot of gardening channels I watch are from very warm areas, mostly Southern California. (I’m in Northern Utah, Zone 6b, I think.) They’re harvesting like crazy, and it makes me feel a little insecure, so I was very glad to see you excited about a baby tomato 🍅 - made me feel better! 😅 I love getting to hang out with you as you go about your serene day 😊
Literally found myself saying OUT LOUD, “do it! Do it!” As you were deliberating putting the drapey vines on the top tier 😂 they’ll look so beautiful, and if it shades everything else out you’ll know for next time!
So the male Mellon flower pollinates the female flower and that produces a fruit baby? That’s pretty cool! Are all plants that way that produce fruits and vegetables? I’ll go do some research😉
Hi Chelsea.... I really can't wait to see how your pots do with that black gold soil. That looks a lot like the Jolly Famers Garden Bed Soil. I love it! ❤
You are truly an artist in all that you do. I could just picture the sunset view youll give us with the wheel barrel & Greenstalk!
Somehow I unfollowed you on IG, but Im all set now. 🌅 🌄
Ingenius re the comfrey. Thanks for explaining :)
Congrats to your winner Linda D ❤❤❤
Organic peat mixed with organic vermiculite or a good gardening sand.
Some day ....maybe a robotic mower for the garden paths😊!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My grandparents had a push mower when I was younger, loved it.
💖

Enjoy watching your videos
I love your newsletters
I’m so glad!
How heavy are those tears once filled with soil? Would love a green stalk. I'm unsure how to over winter one. We can get to approx. -30 C in our zone 5A Iowa winters.
Not heavy at all unless the soil is wet.
Growing up I can remember my brother pushing a mower in the garden.🪴
I would like to sign up for your newsletter and enter for the drawing for the four jars canner but I’m not sure how to do that when you get a chance, can you please let me know. I have been watching your channel for about three years and still cannot sign up for your newsletter. Thank you so much. You bring me lots of great content in gardening and cooking. I have a push mower like that! I call him Edward Scissorhands! 😂🤣
😂love that!
Can people swim in a mountain spring pond?
Your sweet potato vine…the lime, black and the other one will get veeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyy long and viny😊
Curious to see how it does in our climate.
I'm new to homesteading and love watch all the fun stuff you show on your videos!
Welcome!
Broken Petunia…I hope you used Root Tone & planted it; it works! Root bound plants-break ⬆️ the roots before planting so they don’t keep circling.

Am I the first to comment? That NEVER happens to me!😊😊😊
What are the banners of fabric called ???
Bunting
Yellow Zucchini? Is that the same as Yellow Summer Squash? I've never heard of Yellow Zucchini. Whitrle ones, i have. Maybe it's just not a common plant where I live in Texas, zone 6b? BTW, enjoy your rain, it's 100° F today here. My plants are all limp in the sun. Hotter every year anymore.
Let shade cloth become your friend!
Go to a chiropractor for your back, don't leave it. 🌻
When I bring my plants home and ready to plant ..I dip the unpotted plant in water to give a good drunk.
I also put my starts in a bucket of water before I plant them. I hold them under the water until they stop bubbling.
How to tell male or female flowers?
Females will have a tiny fruit at the base.
@@LittleMountainRanch Thank you
Love the flowers!
