Thanks for your review. I've been looking at this toilet and wasn't 100% sure.
£1,000+ is just too much to spend.

It’s actually very good especially when wild camping as in its much much easier to get rid of the waste .
If I’m on a site I still use by bucket and liquid as this takes up less space I’m my small van .
      - tge only issues I have found are 1- it cannot be used as a seat to sit on when the lid is down without damaging the lid 2- the toilet “seat” is not particularly comfy ( I can manage this but my daughter age 13 thinks it’s horrible )
If you decide to buy on eBay or Amazon would you mind using the link provided as I’ll receive a small fee for sharing .
If not that completely fine , I’m glad you found it helpful

Thanks for the review. I'm converting a small van so I'm looking for a toilet that can be pulled out, pushed back and, if on a campsite, put in the modesty tent, as required. This looks as if it might be a good option.

The blue diamond Composting Toilet. Graphic question, does the waste hit the areas that it should

    • @vanlifegoodies
      @vanlifegoodies  2 года назад

Hi yes , but ….One has to have the ability to control doing number 1 and number 2 separately . Once relaxed some people may struggle with this - one needs to sit forward or back according to need if you know what o mean . Hope that helps !!

We've got the normal bucket toilet like u hv but I've never had to do the other in it only a wee wee 😂 Dint know if I could to be honest ..looks a sterdy toilet but wouldn't u see the poo when u open the lid Mmmm I don't know if I could lol

LOL! I think the idea is you add some sawdust on top and this stops the smell. I'm hoping to do a full review once I've used it for a while but I'm waiting for my lovely hubby to build a box around it so it doesn't look like a loo in the middle of my camper and can be used as a seat and place for the toilet roll and sawdust ....watch this space !!

Hi Becky , for function it’s great - only complaint would be it’s not at all comfortable ( but I’m not sat there for long ) - the issue I have is space . My hubby made a box for it so it can be sat on when not in use but the box is a tad too big and heavy - I’m waiting for him to shorten the box then it will be perfect .
If I’m on a csmpsite I tend to use my bucket toilet for ease but for stealth camping the composting toilet makes getting rid of waste easier - hope that helps 👍

@vanlife goodies really helps thank you. We have a bathroom set up in the van so space is not an issue just wanted to check ease of use and cleaning etc. Some people say the urine section is not well designed.

We have been thinking about composting toilets for a while now, tbh the price has put us off. Although this one is still a lot of money, I actually think it’s worth it, it really looks great. We have been full time in our camper for over two years now and using a chemical toilet, it’s a nightmare travelling to find a toilet dump 🤦🏻‍♂️
Not to mention the smell 😟
If you don’t mind us asking, how are you getting on with it?
I still kinda can’t get my head around the bit where it apparently don’t smell 😂 Although we keep being told it’s because the liquid and solids aren’t mixed.
    Great review 😁

Hi , thanks for the comment. Having the solids in a bag makes it very easy to dispose of in a bin that will take dog poo. The liquids can go in any public loo or if appropriate a bush. The only 2 issues I am having are 1- you cannot sit on the lid as this would break it so my husband made a box for it so we can use it as a seat when not in use .....leading to the second issue 2- when the bed is down and the loo box in situ I have literally no room to move and Very limited room for my legs to actually sit when on the loo. If you have a bigger camper than mine you'd be fine but this has recently done my head in to the point I have gone back to my old bucket if I'm on a campsite with chemical disposal. Were working on a solution because if your wild camping long term this loo eliminates one major issue . 3- lastly - the seat is not very comfy at all - doesn't bother me but my 12-year-old finds it awful with her smaller bum! hope that helps

I am not convinced this is a good option, the thought of having to look for a dog poo bin is not appealing and I'm sure a sprinkling of sawdust will not mask the odour. I have a Thetford chemical toilet and its never been a problem for us. I wish you well with it but i'm sure you've got your work cut out with it.

But it’s Ecco friendly no chemicals no smell from awful chemicals and the solid you just dispose of in any General waste you don’t have to find dog poop bins! They go in general waste like soiled baby nappy’s in Ecco bio grade-able nappy bags! You can use a bit of cat little as well as sawdust ! There are different ones out there !

    • @tappers50

From researching composting toilets it appears there isn’t much smell, it is only when liquids and solids combine (sewage) that it smells. We have been using a Thetford chemical toilet and you are limited to where you can empty it, emptying it is not pleasant and the chemicals are fairly expensive. I think composting toilets are definitely the better option. Thanks for the review.

No matter how I look at it, no pun intended, the composting ones are the least inconvenient to me. The question isn't which is the best, but which is the least gross! ;) Incinerating might be the best, legendary, NASA-grade solution, but they are as expensive as space station modules ;)
