This video was so calming and the spreads are beautiful! For reading order of any series. I always reccomend the publication order as that how the Authors intend for us to reas them... and that how Maas reccomends you read as well. And I always say the reason why is that Authors relase books in a certain order for a reason. And as we all know Maas plans out her books years in advance so we can say with 10000% she plans her work and publishing is definitely taken into account in her decisions. She knew Celenas back story before releasing TOG so... she made the strategic decision to release Assassins Blade when she did for the Impact it would create at that time.
As a fan of The Folk of the Air Trilogy, I rarely mention it being an enemies to lovers storyline when recommending because even if it is, that storyline is not the focus (more like tertiary storyline even) and it leads to disappointment to readers when they do not get what they want from a usual enemies to lovers story (which is most commonly banter + tension). I think the reason readers/fans are obsessed with the romance in The Folk of the Air is because we get very little of it, but when we do, it's chef's kiss delicious and we want more, but we cannot get more because there isn't any more lol. So we are just like Jude and Cardan, pining and wishing for more. I personally loved The Folk of the Air trilogy for the family dynamics and political intrigue. I love how their complicated family dynamics and feelings lead them to make decisions that affect the political climate of Elfhame.
I loved your set up. I want to do a fairy theme for 2025 so this lettering is perfect. I loved the cruel prince, I read each book in a day and gave them 5 stars. I mostly loved that each book was under 400 pages. Made me realize fantasy books don’t have to be 500+ to be great.
The cover page collage is so good, even with a lot of different elements it doesn’t look too crowded or overwhelming! I have mixed feelings about ACOTAR - I loved it when I first read it, and came to recognize some flaws in it over time, but it’s still a comfort read for me (which sounds strange because it has some pretty dark moments). I re-read the first halves of book 2 and book 3 a lot, I think those are some wonderful bits of storytelling. ACOSF kind of disappointed me though 😢 I love Cassian and really appreciate the way Nesta’s character was written but the plot didn’t quite hit for me. I read the Throne of Glass series until book 3 (I think?) but never finished it because my library holds were taking sooo long 😭😭 so now it’s a “someday I will finish this” series.
Yes I’m completely on the same page with ACOTAR!! There are definitely some things I didn’t like with the plot (even in the two five star books) but sometimes when a book just completely grips me and I fall in love with certain aspects, I can look the other way😅 and yeah ACOSF was great when it came to the characters of Nesta and Cassian, but the plot just felt random since the war was over. I hope in the future books, the storyline gets better again. I can’t wait to read more about Azriel haha. Oof I feel you with the library loans.. it’s so hard to time popular series with the wait times being so long and then trying to borrow them in order.
You should try the Dark-Hunters series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It's low fantasy romance and starts out very paranormal romance focused, but the world building is pretty good and eventually it really gets into all different kinds of mythologies. Don't be daunted by how long the series is; you can take your time with it if it turns out you like it. Obviously, it's recommended that you read the books in order, but you can read them as standalones because every book is its own romance.
Ooh okay thanks for the rec! That sounds really cool, I’ll have to add it to my list. I haven’t read a lot of paranormal romance but I tend to love when books incorporate old mythology☺️
Ooh good question! I’d say if you’re in the mood for romance, read ACOTAR, if you’re in the mood for fantasy, read The Cruel Prince. Hope you enjoy whichever one you go with☺️
Throne of glass series is my favourite however sarah j maas was very young when she started writing the first so it gets better after the second book, there are sooooo many political intrigues + action and broken hearts (noy romantically speaking, literally broken hearts xD) I hope you like it (even if you suffer) (sorry my englsih, it is not my first language)

Ooh a fairy theme for the new year will be so fun!!🧚🏼 that’s a great point about The Cruel Prince. I agree, a lot of fantasy is unnecessarily long!

Ahhh I’m glad someone feels the same way haha☺️ and yay, glad you liked the spreads!❤️
Thank you for great reviews and journal spreads. Which would you read first Cruel Prince etc or ACOTAR etc ? I just can’t decide 😅.

Ahhhh I’m so excited to read it!! That’s interesting that you can see her writing grow and develops throughout the series
