Please bring more people like this which actually represents our country. They are struggling even after making 2 lakh a month. They are so damn underpaid as per their experience.
Exactly. Young software engineers making helluva money, but professors who are the backbone of education are the worst paid
@@samikmukherjee6791bro 50% of the professors are useless or we can say 50% of the subject are useless and productivity in society of these subjects are zero. Just a way of looting money from students in the name of so called education.

Students from these courses are not able to earn even 40 thousand per month. No skill nothing. Just bogus unusable education. Where engineering mbbs diploma and other skill teachers are getting gud amount and even their students are getting benifits from those professors.

24 lakhs is middle class income for a family with 2 kids in a metro. This video proves it. I did not see any untoward expenses by this family. All expenses were necessary including trips and gift which are necessary to keep one motivated. Good thing is they are competent and have stable jobs and by the time they retire, I hope things work out just as they planned.
2 kids+2 old parents. Income per person per month is only 33k
Less than 1 percent people earn around 24 lakhs in India. If that were to be the case, nobody would have survived till now. People have even larger families and lesser incomes. Still they sustain and lead a decent life.
@@ashutosht10 To be in top 1% in India you need to earn around 3.5 lakhs per person per month where as they are only earning 33k per person per month. I don't know why people forget to divide the income by the number of family members.

Even after paying hefty school fees to these private schools students still have to join expensive coaching. Such a shame on these schools 😔
So true, I've once seen class work of a child from a school where fees is around 1.2 lac + transportation charges of 30K , they have... None of the mistakes are corrected, they just put red tick mark. That child is sent for tuition again for 3K monthly. It's only 4th class child

One of the best episodes of the series. Pure representation of an average indian family with complete honesty.
It was good to see a middle aged couple with so many responsibilities on your show, for a change.
Good luck to them on fulfilling their financial goals ❤️
Kudos to them for being so honest about their goals. It just goes to show how difficult it can be at times to manage a family. Wishing them all the success!
This is helpful content. Kudos to the team! One thing we would like to see is the follow up on the suggestions made in the episodes. I understand its a stretch but if possible please consider in future. Thanks
Financial knowledge is scarce despite the abundance of 'finfluencers' out their. It's good that someone is taking up the mantle and helping out real people along with practical financial advice

Tax should also be considered as cost on a monthly basis
Utility bills should also be considered for cost calculation
Shadi, functions aur saree, gifts, guest hosting, traveling to family functions. Such expenses are not counted. There should be category for this.

I am from Jaipur.. If he had bought land for 17 lakhs instead of flat in 2010, then the price of that land now would be at least 85 lakhs.
Doesn't matter buddy,
Total costs comes afer calculating cost of land+construction
The cost of land is always counted
Tu paida hua tha 2010 me?
still nothing in comparison to equity returns
@Vikas-nt3mk Flat will never give return in jaipur like city as compare to land or house. My friend's father had bought a flat in 2013 for 55 and today the price of that flat is only 90 but if he had bought land or house then it would have been minimum 2.5 crores now...

Thanks to you and the Lovely couple , for sharing their financial journey with us. It gives a perspective for future .
Great to see people honestly sharing their income 👏
Proud moment for channel. Keep briniging these type of parents couple. They are backbone of our tradition and moral values.
The way both of them has genuinely expressed their earnings, expenses and savings is praiseworthy, because with what issues they are dealing are similar to all middle class families in metros.
A great learning to them from Anshuman ji and for us through this episode.
It feels sad to see them earning 40k in their 40s with PhD. Now they got it increased but it’s too bad.
They look much older than their age with all the stress in their life.
God bless them
Ya initially i thought that guy was in his 50's before revealing his age
Yes true, stress is making them age faster, same with most of us
I too thought its written 40 by mistake instead of 50 in the video title
People in premium call centers earn more
He’s the oldest 42 year old I have seen. I’m 45 and know several people my age in academia. Some look like they are in their late 40s, some look they are still in their 30s. This guy looks close to 60. Probably down to genes than tribulations of life.
Appreciate them, we need more podcast of their age, I can see some similarities of my parents in them, end of the the struggle is same
Thanks Anshuman for bringing this episode. It's the situation of most of the middle class family in India. My family had gone through the same situation.
Students watching this episode should take a message from this video. In India DEGREEwala education is much glorified but we can see here that it is not always true. Take a degree to learn and you have passion in doing that else absolutely not required just for the sake of what your parents think or zamana kya kahega.. Earn well and get financial knowledge as early as possible in your life do mistakes and standup again your experience will teach you well than any other school, education, certificate or so call degree.
I got really surprised when that prof said I want to give best education to my children, he still lives in that serendipity.
I feel issue is not with Degree.. But more that our education system & society & family does not support it with simple practical knowledge... How to make use of that degree...
Middle-class people mostly are not WIRED to take risks and learn from mistakes.. they look for stability ( saying from own experience and many people around me)
the main problem is system , you need a degree with good percentage , but the thing is in practicality it doesn't matter in jobs , mostly all degrees and school marks things is useless , but still it is being asked by companies , few companies look for only the thing need for them , whether someone is drop out or didn't go to school they hired based on the needed skill , Main thing is Inflation increases per year but starting salary hardly increases after few years
@@abhishekjain5758 Problem is the “system”. We need to open up the system by bringing in youngsters into the system, by empowering women and via RTI.
Very honest people, my respect to them👍
They both look like they're in the late 40s, definitely don't look like 42 year olds to me.
If their jaipur house isn't earning any rental income, it is a liability rather than an asset. If they liquidate it it should easily cover the kid's education & also give them more money to invest into stocks & MFs.

That could be their residence after retirement.

Good Job Anshuman.
realistic and relatable, one of the best episodes
One day I'll show this video to my father and ask him how tf he managed house expenses when his salary was 80k(peak).
We lived in Tier-1 city ,had same situation like their kids own house so rest money went into investment in stocks.
80k per month is decent salary for a family of 3-4 people, provided you have your own house or rent is reasonable. Even saving and investing is possible
Which year u r talking abt?

I have watched a minimum 20 episodes of FWA but the thing is Anshuman's suggestions are limited & revolves around Increasing income, upskilling or buy term insurance invest in nifty index funds or invest in stocks or gold. Loved the way how you listened to them without judging or mocking them.
those couple were sooo sweeeet wholesome af
This is an amazing series sir. we learn a lot from the people's mistakes, that are actual and viable and we can improve by learning from their mistake.
*small suggestion is that please try to bring all kinds of income group families into the videos.
Its a harsh reality that 1.5 to 2 lakhs is not that much for metro cities these days.
The question is with so many qualifications, they should minimum be on a 2.5L per month salary bracket individually. First thing look for a valuable prospective job that values ur qualification. That's the first thing we need to do as once gone, age will not come back. I agree that medical insurance is the most imp component of any household. 👍👍
The saddest thing about this video, that nobody is talking about. PHDs should be the top most earners, which by any means they aren't in India, this has to change big time 😢
doctorate and other high level degrees don't mean a lot until you are a really valuable teacher or researcher doing so many degrees then teaching what you learnt in your undergrad program whats the point in the phd then
Even in developed countries , phds aren’t paid much because they do not bring in the money for the business.
@@varuntammewar6582 people confuse knowledge with degrees
Your pay scale is influenced by multiple factors the main being demand and supply gap, the revenue you bring to your employer, profitability of your employer and future potential value for employer business. It also depends on business model like if it is borrowed capital, VC money, stock market money, etc. as businesses believe in returning value to investors before paying employee salaries or increments.
Having a PhD is no measure of intellect.
Really nice @anshuman, we all say education inflation is getting high.. but watching these couple plan finances for their kids education shows us how much education costs in todays world..
Hats off sir and ma'am for being so honest and sharing.....there experience

They are looking 55+ not 40 years old 😅
Tu bhi tension le, tu bhi dikhega 60+
18:35 We will fund higher education ourselves
They should go for education loan. Onus should be on the kids to fund their higher education, that will make them more responsible and accountable.
P.S: Maybe its the stress of PHDs, they look like early 50s rather than 40s 😢
No good parent would want their kid to start their career with a loan!!! My husband had an education loan followed by a home loan!!! Life sucks with zero savings!!!
@@monishasekar4716 So you mean who go for education loan are bad parents?
#SlowClaps
Its understandable and clear to see they dont want to add another loan to their or their kids life and thats fine it makes sense
@@shubhamsinghhimta but looking at their current financial situation, they are in no position to fund that without compromising severely. Education loan IMHO makes kids responsible from start which is no way a bad thing
They can take education loan and meanwhile keep the money growing with them and when kid gets out of college if he is not earning yet they can help him with emi... when he becomes capable he can partly pay the emi along with them and gradually increase his amount..
My understanding is that education loan is not interested until he completes he studies.. let me know if I'm wrong

Lovely Family 😍
They're an academic couple. They tend to focus a lot on education. Their knowledge is mostly from text books. But end of the day what's the point of education - to give us better life. How will life be better? By making more money and managing it properly. Education is helping this couple to make money but their text book knowledge is not helping them manage it.
They want to give their kids good education. Why? So that they can make money too. So it's important to learn how to manage money. The eldest kid has gone into science stream. He's likely to end up like parents as far as financial knowledge is concerned.
One suggestion I can give is to let the second kid take up finance. Something which my parents did. Both were science graduates but let me take Commerce against the trend of the times. Thanks to me now our family finances are safe and healthy. Helps to diversify knowledge in the family.
Absolute practical idea.. provided the kid has an interest in the subject.
My take is that while bringing up kids, some things are absolutely important. Unfortunately, our Education system is oblivious to it.. so we can make sure they understand those.. 1. Basics of Healthy eating and living (basic cooking know-how, one sport or martial art) 2. Financial Management 3.Basic human, social psychology 4.Atleast one Hobby or Art
