Where did they get all these posh people? Why didn't they get proper country people to participate too? So we could have a real comparison about how comprehensive the accent is.
Except for the Hot Fuzz clip (which is obviously hard to understand for comedic purposes also lol) I understood every single accent shown in the video. I'm American btw. I don't know if I have some special skill to understand accents, or it's just from watching Doctor Who since 1978 (and Red Dwarf and several other British shows). I understand people who can't understand many of these accents, especially when some people just talk really really fast. But most of the time, I think if someone talks normally and "properly", most people would probably be able to take it in ok.
With the delay effect they are hard to understand like listening to horn speakers on a railroad. Sophie is so beautiful. We should invent a Crispr to make more people like her.
The Irish accent sounding like the American ones is simply because of the mass Irish immigration to the USA. So many people over there actually speak with the remanents of an Irish accent from their ancestors and not the other way around. That's supposed to be common knowledge.
In this case, it's because Liam Neeson plays an American in that film. They just didn't realize that because he's not very good at doing an American accent.
How is RP a difficult English accent? Sure, the BBC has moved away from it ("modified RP"), but isn't RP supposed to be the "standard" radio/TV accent?

Liam Neeson is not from Ireland, he is from the UK and he is not Irish he is British from Northern Ireland and the hint is in the title (Hardest UK accents to understand)
