As for the participation of the Americans in this war. They were airplane pilots. 7th fighter squadron Tadeusza Kościuszko (the so-called Kościuszko Squadron) - a fighter unit of the Polish Army from 1918-1925, fought during the Polish-Ukrainian war and the Polish-Bolshevik war, in which they served, inter alia, American volunteers. Commanded by Cedric Fauntleroy (1891-1963). The initiator of its establishment was Merian Cooper (later director of the first film about King Kong), (1893-1963), an airman who fought in 1918 in Europe, great-grandson of Col. John Cooper, who participated with Kazimierz Pulaski in the war for independence of the United States and accompanied the wounded Polish hero in the last days of his life after the Battle of Savannah in 1777. This "honor debt" to the Polish nation, incurred in the eighteenth century, was repaid by recruits from Paris in the summer of 1919 of young American pilots. American pilots, after an adventurous journey through Europe to Warsaw, met in the Belweder Palace with the Chief of State Józef Piłsudski (October 14, 1919), and then were directed to Lviv to join the fighting on the Galician front. During the Polish offensive on Kiev, they made reconnaissance and assault flights. During them, they used an innovative attack technique that caused panic in the ranks of the Bolshevik army - continuous fire along the marching enemy column from a very low height. They made great contributions to the clashes with the Horse Army of Semyon Budyonny in August 1920, harassing it with air raids and causing serious losses in the fighting in the vicinity of Lviv. This prevented these troops from joining forces with Mikhail Tukhachevsky's troops attacking Warsaw. During one of the flights near Równe in Volhynia, Captain Cooper's plane was shot down. The pilot was captured by the Soviets under an assumed name, which saved his life. After stays in several Soviet labor camps, he managed to escape from prison and return to Poland via Riga in May 1921. He maintained ties with Poland and Poles until the end of his life, being, among others, a member of immigration organizations, including the Association of Polish Army Veterans in America. During World War II, he made contacts with the pilots of the famous 303 Fighter Squadron, which was instrumental in winning the Battle of Britain. Its pilots continued the traditions of the Kościuszko Squadron, using its badge on airplanes

I think to recall reading that the american soldiers "Kosciushko Squadron" who came to support Poland, as asked: -"Why?"- the answer was -"To repay the debt."- Could be a little motivation for little research. ✌

There's one funny thing that always bogling me. For example - in case of Germany there was Prussia, I Reich, II Reich, III Reich and then current Germany. Each turn over they switched their national flag while for Poland (even tho it didn't existed for 123 years) it's the same flag from last 1000 years. Same goes to Russia for example. They had different flag before WW1 then they had different flag during soviet revolution and when it collapsed at 1989 (or 1991 depend who you ask) they switched to yet another flag. Why the heck only Poland remain with same flag for 1000 years?!?!?!

to be completely honest: Poland didn't have the same flag. Changed shades of red several times ;)

Woodrow Wilson was a slavery apologist who supported segregation and the first movie played in the white house happened to be during his presidency, it also happened to be the film that inspired the recreation of the KKK.

    Some missing points:
    1. Pilsudski's role was important, yes, but also Witos (a farmers leader, who was made prime minister, which allowed for a growing support for the continued war in the war-weary Polish population, predominantly rural back then) and Dmowski (leader of National-Democrats, had much more support than Pilsudski in the townsfolk _and_ in France). Tis was one of the rare occasions when Poles put their internal squabbles aside
    2. Polish forces won the battles of Warsaw (breaking the Russian offensive) and at Nieman river (destroying the Russian offensive force) but there was one battle missing, one that was not fought... the battle of Smolensk or maybe even Moscow, the one which would allow for projecting the power. Without that victory, Poles were confined to just a defensive perimeter, one that they could not hope to held, faced with the growing potential of the new Soviet state. Pilsudski understood this and this was the source of his deep anxiety in the years to come.

Polska jako taka oczywiście od 966, ale Rzeczpospolita Obojga Narodów (a to o niej mowa w filmie) istniała od Unii Lubelskiej z 1569r.
