Not to defend Iowa much but it seemed like there were a lot of uncalled holds on UCLA. Kinda got the feeling that the refs didn't want to call them because they'd already penalized the Bruins so much. Love Coach Patterson.
UCLA has always been the juggernaut in football... those 18 or 19 consecutive natty's prove that. Iowa only loses to the very best, and this is just one of those cases. As for playing on grass, that's a great one to use ... all those different turf variants present their own problems, after all. The QB woes certainly left the Hawkeye Defense gasping for relief minutes but it's a good thing Iowa always have beefeater lines to plow under opponents
