❤😂

I thought 60 mm mortars were phased out during WWII.
Can a 60 do an illumination round or is it deemed too small?
Yes
Also WP white phosphorus burns at 5000 degrees f when you want to light someone up or just burn something down!
@@louiskappel40WP is not useful for illum because it also creates a diffuse cloud rather than one bright point.
@@louiskappel40 Yes Sir! Willy Pete gets the fires a ragin'.
We also do coordinated alum, 1 gun fires the alum rounds so the spotters can see the impact rounds for adjustments.
Get a dozen of those going and maybe you have something.
You'd be surprised what just three of those little dudes can do down range.
With enough ammunition, I think even one of them can do so much more
A rapid fire of the 120MM can destroy a whole village
Rapid fire on combat troops with a 60mm would be devastating. Especially if you have a two 60mm mortar tubes.
A dozen of those could probably slag a bunker in a few seconds. One can easily kill a whole swuad if theyre not careful
At the beginning of the video there is a guy on the screen left holding a stick of sorts. Is this like a surveyors measuring device, referenced for aiming where the mortar should land approximately? I have no idea, and don’t pretend to know, but these guys are studs and doing things many other won’t, or can’t, much respect.
Question, why does the guy loading the mortars sort of like duck for cover when he loads, meanwhile the other guys head is like two inches from the opening 😂
This is because we need to check the scale of the mortar.

Got qualified on this once in the army and never used it again (not in the US army)….
For those unfamiliar with what’s happening here, quickly adjusting the sight at the aiming post is quite tricky…. Admittedly, I don’t have a whole lot of experience with the 60mm, however I do think it’s impressive seeing a soldier making such quick adjustments to get back on line between salvos
Started by setting zero lines at zero.
What is the max distance for this mortars?
Nice video clip 👏👌
That's because it's not really a launcher, it's just a tube for the rockets to do their job.

Planting aiming stakes to level and elevation to keep mortar on target using the sight on the side of the mortar! Very effective weapon! I was a 60mm section leader in the Marines in charge of three mortars,14 men! Good times!

An accurate mortar team is a Terrifying Thing indeed 👍🏻

The soldiers making the adjustments head seemed awful close to the muzzle.
Good job 👍👍👍
Got It You people!;?! These are ROCKETS!;! Not MISSILES!!!
Good job excellent work
It's good to see how the aiming stakes are used. I've got quite a few black powder cannons & 5 mortars, 2 shoot bowling balls quite far. I've never seen the stakes in use. How are they oriented, & with what😊
A-10 is an aircraft called tank killer not a mortor dude.
Idiot that is a link to another video.
Amazing work
Bubbling on a 60 while firing is so unnecessary and risky. I never understood 60 teams that did this.
