A good starting point would be to increase voltage to the motor from 24V to 36V by adding a third battery wired in series with the two existing batteries. This usually requires upgrading the motor controller from 24V to 36V. Next, you can look at upgrading the motor to 36V or even 48V (careful, above 42V can shock you). Take a look at the gearing too. If you add voltage and/or a bigger motor, you will have more torque to work with, and you can run taller gears for more top speed, if that is your goal. However, taller gears can be a disadvantage on grass and other off-road surfaces. Gas motors can be a good option too if you don't mind more work, and the noise and heat that they generate. Its the stock one. It can improve the brake if you replace the brake cord and put new brake pads in.
