@@Aniruddha197 i m not sure about that but i live in Vadodara and It was first named Chandanavati then it became Virakshetra or Viravati then it became Vadpatraka or Vadodara which is taken from sankrit word Vadotar which means in the belly of banyan tree (because there were too much banyan trees here). But the word Baroda came from brits its same as they call Bombay but originally it is Mumbai.
Had lived in Baroda for some 5 years .. can't forget Gupta Samosas at Fatehganj.. sells faster than they can fry them. However, your Baroda episode left my mouth watering :) ..

During B.E. final year project, we used to get this टमटम from his lorry in quantity in the midnight to fill our tummies followed by tea. There used to be some six to seven pairs working on the projects from evening to next day morning. What is address of this RAATREEBAZAAR????
I like to know that you buy all that food but you can not finish it so should take it in diffrent plate you can save it for bager on street or ask the plase for testning portion not full plate like smosa you could just slect one of each what do you think

Patti samosa reminds me of school days...babu vadapao in vileparle used to supply vada and samosas to parle tilak and paranjape vidyalaya in andheri parle area of Mumbai. We used to get that at 1.50 rs in those days. Now it's 18 rupees but still tastes the same.
