Jim Carey is one of those people who actually deserved all the hype, he really was that good. You can tell he put a lot of work into his acts and coming up with new bits.
Jim Carrey and Robin Williams were a different breed, truly amazing at all the things they did, all the performances, every stand up show, every film. Magic ❤️
MovieLounge In this interview yes he was going through his depression years, but in early interviews he said that he is not anymore, he gets sad like everyone else but not depression
1)Those tears @3:47 - 3:49 2)and long hiatus from the spotlight 3)during his prime 4)not too mention he's in the funny arts which can be very challenging 5)a celebrity that everyone loves and knows 6)that defies barriers I may be inclined to think so too. No private life.
He had already filmed Ace Ventura AND The Mask in 1993, but neither one had been released yet. This is from January 1994 just prior to the release of Ace Ventura which would catapult him into superstardom.
Dont hate on Arsenio, he was letting Jim be Jim. He even brought his own interview cards what was Hall supposed to do, "No let me talk" most of you never saw Hall back in the day or are wet behind the ears or born in the 2000s.
That is pretty original, props to Jim. He looks like he took Steve Martin' s Excuuuuse Me body flapping mannerisms and ran with it. Ran it up the flagpole and ran with it, you might say.
it's good Jim isnt super sensitive like some people, he didnt care. Someone grabbed my jacket in class a while ago n I punched him in his mouth a few times pretty hard, so its good Jim aint like me lol
Strange that there seems to be a lot of arsennio hate, I think he was a fantastic counterpart and let Jim completely dominate the spotlight on his own show. An true example of a brilliant host
Jim Carrey is a very funny man who always did his thing in In Living Color playing many people and acting silly and making people laugh for a long time. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017
I love Jim Carrey to death as a child and still do as an adult. As an adult though, I totally realize Jim has always had mental issues. Of course he has admitted it but looking back on old interviews like this…It’s clear. Nothing wrong with it but I just find it funny that as a child I always thought he was just an over the top comedian but had no inclination he had mental issues
That's quite a forceful pull for a host to make on their guest 0:18. Quite awkward too... Jim was lapping up the applause and Arsenio didn't know what to do. After that, seemed like a smooth interview.
The Canadian kid , doing an american flag !!! Who else would do something like that ?? Jim is a seed of laughter and god bless him , the Canadian kid !!
Jim Carey is one of those people who actually deserved all the hype, he really was that good. You can tell he put a lot of work into his acts and coming up with new bits.
He still is--as Robotnik!
Wouch
That’s the thing, he is a genius, adapting to every moment with Love and Humor.
Always grinding!!!!
He’s not dead, stop saying was
Jim Carrey flawlessly took over every interview with pure genius comedy that I have never seen from anyone in my life. He is truly a COMEDIC G.O.A.T
nope
So you must not have had the pleasure of watching Robin Williams being interviewed then?
Honestly, he is a Pure GENIUS, with his love and compassion
Robin williams?
And Mr Rodney Dangerfield
Jim Carrey and Robin Williams were a different breed, truly amazing at all the things they did, all the performances, every stand up show, every film. Magic ❤️
This guy is the best cure for depression.
@@terminator0 most comedians do
@KS A he does
MovieLounge In this interview yes he was going through his depression years, but in early interviews he said that he is not anymore, he gets sad like everyone else but not depression
ironic that he went into depression himself.
Yea but didn't have a cure for his depression
Arsenio doesn't know what to do with him.
Yeah he's doing the Johnny Carson thing, stepping back letting the star take the lead.
@@christinamitchell6796 don't disrespect Johnny Carson
Maybe Arsenio didn't get the memo that you've gotta give Carey lots of time and space.
you re right he looks constipated unable to reply to Jim
THAT's exactly what I was just thinking. Word for word.
Jim Carrey owned the 90s.. Such a funny guy.
Arsenio: man! We got nothing for the show tonight.
Director: just bring Jim Carrey, he'll do the entire show.
When he keeps elbowing that guy at the end killed me
That was me!
He stopped being a fan after that 🤣
hahahahahaha me too
Haha it was hilarious 🤣
same bro... dead...
He’s probably low- key being serious when he says he has a lot of problems.

HIGHKEY, the funniest comedians are usually kinda fucked up deep down.
Everyone has a lot of problems.
@@littleripper312 yes most if not all (something )
Look at his eyes..those tears are real
Jim is a comedic genius! He's been making me laugh for years, and laughter is one of the greatest things in life
Anyone who feels down or angry, should spend a bit of time watching Jim Carey for 20 odd minutes. Jim can tell the funniest stories. Love him!
Yep that's for sure it will definitely make bad day better
Arsenio looks shocked and totally unprepared for the onslaught 😂
He's got the same manic comedic energy that Robin Williams had.
@@thuryn.mitchell how do you know?
Will probably end the same way too.
Lori Hanks Robin also called it “the devil’s dandruff” LOL

Robin Williams has a similar routine being the American flag haha

Arsenio was great.the freedom his guest had was awesome.
Best part is the ending when he runs into the crowd to applaud himself. Genius idea. Never seen that before. Love Jim
It was the elbowing the guy next to him that got me. Dead.
Jim carrey always cheers me up

How can you not love Jim ❤️ he really is one of the best
My favorite actor and comedian Jim Carey!!!!
He had already filmed Ace Ventura AND The Mask in 1993, but neither one had been released yet. This is from January 1994 just prior to the release of Ace Ventura which would catapult him into superstardom.

Thank you, this is what you do when you're interviewing someone like Jim Carrey or Robin William's. You stand to the side and let em do their thing.
"And I thought to myself, *wow* , this is a lot like that story... with the beanstalk... and the golden goose?!"
YA DONT SAY LOL
The choices Jim makes are what really makes him special. I mean, "A flag blowing in the wind?" 😂 10:20
That is pretty original, props to Jim. He looks like he took Steve Martin' s Excuuuuse Me body flapping mannerisms and ran with it. Ran it up the flagpole and ran with it, you might say.
Since the beginning Jim Carrey always poked fun at the silliness of celebrity entitlement
We need Jim back today , we need his comedy
Jim always meshed so well with my sense of humor and comedy...
Arsenio Hall has no idea what to do. This is hilarious!!! Even the audience is dumbfounded. Great job Jim - pure comic genius!!

🤣🤣🤣 What a great show. Allowing artists to create and knowing when to come in. Jim is brilliant.
3:10 was a peak behind the mask...he held it together well, but you can tell he truly was dealing with a lot.
I love you so much Jim
I love this show and I miss it.
@Solarium Crater It wasn't as good, edgy, or as ground-breaking as its first run.

Arsenio pushing Jim in the intro, bad move
Arsenio was huge then...

It was probably even planned, don't take it too seriously they're both performers/comedians

Sir Jim the Best.
The show had the coolest audience.

I remember the time Jim came out drunk, insulted Arsenio, and threw a punch at him. Turns out he was only acting.
Jim in his thirties was 🔥🔥🔥
Yess! He was adorable I had a crush on him during this time. He also was engaged to the beautiful Lauren Holly not long after this.
‘
I was 18 years old in 1994 - I miss the 90s
He was dead serious about those problems, the difference with him, is he paid his dues into the culture in which he came up in and showed respect
That's me at the end of the clip, getting elbowed by Jim. He rubbed my head too!
he is soooooo good
The best actor comedian on planet
It's funny how Arsenio was being a little pushy pushy at first and Jim was like "I'm the show host now, you wait, I not gonna sit down yet!"
jim carey king man🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
You can't make Carrey sit down!! Jaja he was like sit down man and pulling him around.
