- Even by a mother's high standard of care, this flying fox gives a remarkable display of devotion, as she gently fans her little baby - all while hanging upside down on a branch.

A shout out to moms of all species. You all are such wonderful beings.
Not all of them
The flying-foxes of Australia are amazing mammals. It was love at first sight for me. I’m 61, and only learned about them about 6 months ago!! I live learning, and am surprised that I hadn’t encountered them before!
I'm with you. Was love at first sight. Have you seen megabattie on you tube? She rescues them all and takes wonderful care of them.
Megabattie is from Australia.
That is the cutest thing ever!!!!!!
Megabattie made me fall in love with flying foxes. Beautiful sky doggos.
I was already in love with them, but Meg, Batzilla, and co feed that love. This was some great footage of them.
Me too! Megabattie and all the fantastic, hard working bat rescue YT channels are an inspiration. Flying Foxes really are beautiful, intelligent creatures and deserve our help.
@Diogenes thehorsefan Isn't it gutting that we know IF we were obscenely wealthy, we'd be genuinely thrilled to fund a bat rescue/hospital. What better crusade could there be, than to add financial might to the fight to save the beautiful, intelligent, noble flying fox/microbat from extinction??? That's my view.
Alas at this point in my life I'm hoping for a big lottery win - and I don't even do the lottery! But rest assured, if riches ever come my way, I'll be redirecting megabucks to Megabattie and her furry friends.
Same here. Couldn't have subscribed to a better channel!
I'm a Meg fan too. ❤️
Mother is mother no matter she is human being, animal and birds. A mother, s tender care and love can never be expressed nor it can be compared to any thing in the world.
Beautiful mother!
I never thought I'll get this much feels from bats
Do you watch the Australian bat channels, Megabattie, Batzilla the Bat, Batusi Nughts?
Yup. It's a scary animal..but yet i feel that the baby is cute
@@honeyot425 These are fruit bats not vampire bats
@@TomClarke-so3fd fruit or not fruit bats..they are vectors for many diseases
@@honeyot425 I never said that they were not carriers of disease. But they are not (fruit bats) scary they are cute, the tiny insect bats are creepy. The small bats have very fast metabolism so they don't get diseases like rabies but can carry it.
That hug, tho... ❤😊

These little guys (flying fox/fruit bat, the only flying mammal) live in colonies in Australia, Philippines, and some parts of Asia and Africa. They can grow to massive sizes and come in different colours. They live only on fruits and raise their babies for up to 6 months at a time and are not eco locators like the vampire bats, they rely on eyesight. Depending on the area their predators are hawks, crocodiles, and other large birds of pray. However they are accident prone in urban areas due to their strict restrictions of take off, making them get trapped in city areas easily resulting in injury or starvation. They live together in trees and typically fly at night to look for fruit and water.
However they are bound to be extinct in 20 years due to lack of food and deforistation.
Flying foxes cannot stand upright nor walk as their hips and legs and feet are backwards. They sleep, eat, mate, birth, all hanging upside down.
They can be prone to disease such as the rabies virus, it is very rare but possible. If you get scratched or bitten by a flying fox that has the virus in its brain, it can be transmitted to you. So it is highly recommended not to touch them unless you have been vaccinated.
If you ever find a flying fox that is trapped or injured there are many wildlife carers you can call that will rescue the bat.
The bit about their extinction due to deforestation is such an actual truth it makes me incredibly depressed and intensely furious at the same time.
Coconut bat
There's a rescuer on you tube name megabattie and she's on Australia. She rescues these flying foxes and she's awesome! The person on tictoc stole lots of videos from megabattie. She's a thief
I dont know why but bats are so cute 🥰

I love these darlin creatures💜💜💜💋
the phrase "wing pit" made my face scrunch up.
If you see a flying fox (or any other bat) in the wild, do not touch - call your local bat rescuer. If you are scratched by the flying fox, the flying fox will unfortunately have to be euthanized to test for diseases. If you're interested in learning more, Megabattie and Batzilla are both excellent RUclips channels with lots of videos of bat rescues, raising baby bats in care, and releasing them back to the wild.
I am a vet tech. They do not have to be killed. It takes exactly 10 days from start to finish when they first come in contact with rabies until their last day. I keep hearing all these people say oh no… The incubation time could be blah blah blah ...no it can't!! If the animal dies within a 10 day. Then you have your answer. If it does not die within the 10 days you're good!
I remember the first time I saw a swarm of bats I was terrified but now I adore them
I too
Mom's love❤❤
To think those lovely animals might one day be extinct :(. What are we doing to this planet?
I think about that everyday, we have done irreversible damage to this planet bc nothing is ever enough for human beings. We won’t stop until we’ve siphoned every last drop
Hhhhhh ur comment is loading corona
Everyone thinks it's always about the other guy that's harming the planet. It's not me and the condo I'm building. It's not me and MY car putting fumes into the atmosphere. It's not me and the smokestacks on MY company. It's those other guys. It's not ME and my company tearing down the forests. I NEED to do this to make a profit!
SOOOOOO PRECIOUS💞

I once had a flying fox settle into a tree in my yard back in Australia. At first I was scared of it, but got used to it after a couple weeks. Eventually we became good friends and it introduced me to it's baby a year later. Never would've thought I would be friends with one but it's possible! 🙏
Are these Parrots, Foxes or Puppies???

How would a bat react to a lion?
like this:
"Look down there on the ground , it's a lion. I wonder what it is doing here in Australia? It must have escaped from a zoo."
@@PaulG.x I meant the ones from Africa.
@PaulG.x They'd be like, "Your Majesty, what are you doing here?"
I have a doubt how does they breathe while hanging upside down...?

GameZard,
Check out the RUclips channel....megabattie
They are adorable little creatures. 🦇
I'm speaking specifically about the flying-foxes.
Some other bats take a bit more effort to appreciate...IMO.
Horseshoe, for instance. Not exactly cute faces...but that's just me.
Horseshoe bats are the French bulldogs of the sky!! I mean look at those faces. They're scrunched up. They have a serious underbite. They look just like a flying French bulldog!!! 😆
