    In my Happy Planner I used the Post-it tape ALL the time to cover the bright colored centers of the pages which I almost never liked. I’d cover tape with washi and then punch with the Happy Planner hole punch.
    It used to be called redaction tape for use at law firms. It was temporary white out that was used to cover up confidential information. You’d then make a copy of the redacted document and pull the tape off afterwards. I also used to make removable filing folder labels. It remains stuck on for years, yet still pulls off easily.

    I have the gyro cut and love it! It takes a bit of practice to not cut all the way through but even when you’re first getting the hang of it it’s way easier then cutting using scissors. Make sure the longer point is always towards the top and turn the paper when you get to corners

    Love my Gyro Cut. You need to make sure you are moving the blade towards you rather than pushing away, turning the paper as you go. It takes some practice but once you get it it's great.

    I have the Fayware sticker book and have used it in my planner...I really like it! It plays nicely with several HP books and for the price you can't beat it! It was only $10 when I bought it, so it was a no-brainer for me.
    I agree, the scrapbooking kit is a really great deal and it seems perfect for junk journaling, which is my latest obsession, so I may have to grab one or two. Thanks for the honest review!

    Love my Gyro-cut! I use it almost every week as I have a bunch of printable stickers. It does take some practice. It works best if you don't lift the blade. I love that I can turn the paper to go around a corner or get into a small space. I think the Gyro-cut works best for small spaces where scissors are hard to cut.

  • @selenabaity

    I love my gyro-cut! You don’t need to move your hand or lift the blade. Just let the blade rotate around the image on its own. You’ll get the hang of it.

    I have the gyro cut and never got the hang of it. I find good scissors much easier. The only time I would use the gyro cut would be if I needed stickers kiss cut for later use. But that is very rare.

    I used the redacting tape when I worked in the legal field. It’s not see through when you scan the document. The tape comes in various widths. It would be good to use to cover up stuff you don’t want to share before taking photos for IG. It’s not permanent for whiteout and correction purposes.

    Japan has been doing washi and scrapbooking forever. North America is a late comer . So if you see an American company doing the same. It's most likely the American company that's copying. Printing sayings in English is newer but most Japanese kids learn English. They find sayings in English as fun and exotic as we do having saying in an Asian language.

      I thought as soon as I heard the name ‘washi’ that it was Japanese. But good to read your explanation and have more info. Thank you 🙏

    • @WhiteRabbitAnne
      @WhiteRabbitAnne Год назад +1

      @@nataliemarshall7158 yes it's amazing what you find when you put in either washi japanese stickers or japanese scrapbooking in Amazon. It's so popular with japanese girls and women. But beautiful things are important in the culture. A child's school meal is a work of art. I guess the idea of a plain diary or memory book is truly anathema.

    • @nataliemarshall7158
      @nataliemarshall7158 Год назад +2

      @@WhiteRabbitAnne from my very little understanding of their culture, or at least historically, everything is done with mindfulness, purpose and to the best of their abilities. I think that the more intricate or decorative that a task is the more mindfulness, patience and practice is involved.
      Which is something that we could all gain some benefit from and perhaps subconsciously why planners and scrapbookers enjoy their craft? I think creativity of any kind gives us the opportunity to tune out all of busyness and distractions of life and gives us a mental time out so to speak.
      But on that note I don’t actually have any creative skills of my own so I am grateful for the companies that make all of the products and for channels like this one that provide knowledge and inspiration!!!

    2:31 so maybe they're "seconds" or "off-cuts" of washi tapes? hence the budget price? They still look pretty though. Cut from the outer edge of a bigger roll so that "off pattern" is on them...

    I thought I was going to love that rotating cutter thing, but honestly, it’s more of a hassle than anything! It’s kind of hard to get the exact line of where you want to cut. It’s fiddle-y for sure.

    • @karenneill9109

      I have a straight cutter with a really fine ceramic blade. It’s a fixed blade (doesn’t rotate) and it’s not off-set. Unlike an x-acto knife, it’s very short, and will o nay cut one layer of paper at a time. I like it a lot, and very little learning curve.

      Thanks for the honest review. I hand cut my stickers and saw quite a few negative reviews for the gyrocut before this video so decided not to get it. Be interested to hear whether you got it to work.m but I have a feeling it won’t be any quicker/better than cutting with scissors.
