Must See Arthur Backed by, “Baby Lemonade “, and a Full Orchestra Live in Glastonbury ! HUGE Sea Of People ! He/They Wowed the Crowd !!
Back in the day ... and now , I never miss a chance to play Love numbers . Arthur Lee is/ was a genius and I adored him .❤❤❤
It's no accident arthur was idolized by not only jim morrison, but also hendrix
Idolized????
@@tomcarl8021 - Hendrix and Morrison liked Arthur Lee very much. Whether it went to the level of idolization, I don't know, but they certainly liked him a lot.
I think ' Admired ' is a better choice of words as ' Idolized ' is inappropriate.
Arthur!! One of the best heartfelt harp players around.
In my opinion, second to none.
He definitely was born for the music industry.
JaneR
Arthur Lee! Dam. Loved this album/song in my teens.
is Arthur sharp or flat on that SIgned D.C. tuning... 😎 sublime to hear him perform that powerful song with an unpredictable band that does it proper.. proves how unique and timeless his Music is.
These two tunes were released in the mid sixties. They were punk then ,1990, and now!
WOW! Thank you for this. Never ever seen this till now ... Signed DC raw like it should be
It's always reminded me of Nights in White Satin. My favourite band in the 60s
@@yves2694My thought exactly! Arthur did a cover of Nights??!?? Then he started in on DC.
Moodies: my fave band but love Love
@@yves2694 It's the other way round of course, Nights In White Satin sounds like Signed DC.
@@ICT17 I know. I've pointed it out many times over the years.
@@jimuren2388 No. Signed DC came first. 👍🏻
Soul exposed for the world to see, hear, and feel. Chilled me on this summer day! Thanks man!
Real music love Me. Lee , a real survivor till the end. At least he seemed happy near the end of his career. Thank you. You have made my day. No my year.
Tuning is a relative thing I think. Being a musician it’s hard to ignore this but it’s great that people can appreciate it by seeing it as raw and real...We’ve probably been spoiled by perfect studio recordings that rarely represent what someone really sounds like on a given night...Recording studios are like photoshop....
One of my absolute Heroes !! Coulda used a Guitar Tuner ,but jeez Forever Changes changed my life Forever !!! Thanx Ya'll >>>>> J D
RIP, Heaven sure is going to be all the richer, with you there, Arthur. LoVe. JaneR
Fabulous performance! Thank you 😊
This was hilarious ...the sets almost looks like a skit on SCTV...gotta love cable tv!!!! You can see the charisma of Arthur come through in this interview even in this low budget setting. The other 2 guests were awesome promoting his albums!!! I belleve it was before his troubles with the law where he got royally screwed over. I think like most great bands....it takes certain ndividuals to be together to have the right chemistry. Johny Echols and Bryan Maclain were integral parts of Love in their creative process. That's why we have Love Forever Changes and that's why it can never happen again. RIP Bryan and Arthur. Johnny Echols is a class act if you ever see any interviews with him.
You’re Not Alone, by Any Means ! Brian MacLean, Johnny Eccoles, Snoopy, Ken Forrsi, Tjay Cantrelli, Jay Donnellan, among other past collaborators - True Originals. ! “Stephanie Knows How “ - Unreal Time Signatures on that Tune ! They Ruled the Airwaves, in LA, during the ‘60’s, w/ quite a few others !
Sounds fantastic with untuned guitars even
A later band. How great that he could tour Forever Changes to rapturous applause late in life. Saw him with the Four Sail band in London.
Thanks Art. Sincerely.
great and raw !!!
Does anyone know if the two bros playing are Robert Rozelle (bass) and Melvan "Wah-wah" Whittington (second guitar) who were part of his Black Beauty project? It's been soooo many years since I was acquainted with all of them. Surprised Josef Blocker wasn't playing the drums. Arthur was a pioneering black rocker, often overlooked... in Jimi's shadow. 1966! Before Jimi was "discovered"
He was a pioneering rocker, period, regardless if he was black.
His name was Itchin Chitlin Sambo. He died at a BLM protest and got stabbed cuz he was light skinned
When did this take place?
Must've been about late 80s/ very early 90s
One of my regrets in life is not going up and speaking to Arthur when I had the chance. I was carrying my copy of forever changes just in case I bumped in to him. Then there he was standing alone in front of me, having a cigarette behind the venue, and I chickened out. Smh.
I had the same experience (and regret) the time I saw Jackie Lomax sitting in a room alone before his show at the Whiskey A-Go-Go, circa 1968, I wanted to tell him how much I loved a song on his album (and ask about the guitar tuning).. but I didn't want to disturb him. After that, I decided that I would never again pass up a chance to tell a musician or artist I admired how much I loved there work! (fodel)
Is that a metronome ticking?
🔥
All these people complaining about tuning are squares
Yo' mama.
Yep it sounds great
A musician whose cultivated their listening skills would cringe to hear this, but every time I’ve seen them, Arthur’s guitar was flat, but
his charisma makes it okay. Notice how much better it sounds with him playing the harmonica?
Regardless, they were a BIG influence on a ton of bands in the mid to late ‘60’s.
Squares!!...indeed.
Being slighty out of tune gives it a raw edge
jesus Art. Did you know at the time that no other show would ever be as hip at your Poker Party. You should be as rich as Jimmy Kimmell. Maybe you are
Great comment. Thanks to youTube, these shows won't have to exist only as boxes of decaying tapes in Art's garage!
And now...a prelude in Z# 😂
Help! I'm a B-string in need of tuning!
Out of tune, loud and sloppy, and still blows you away. that's what R&R is all about.... or at least is suppose to be! (fodel)
Tune your guitars!!
Glad they didnt sounds great
@@BenJamin-pd4mpsame here
Somebody's really out of tune!! and it appears to be Arthur
So sad. 😢 A drugged out genius stood before them. Hard to watch.
He seemed pretty sharp? Lots of detailed stories, remembered names, promoted the heck out of his "brand" and definitely brought the music!
GAD!!!
This is Sooooo out of tune it’s making me nauseous!!!!
Guitar terribly out of tune
This is so sad to see.
Shoddy production :-( Out of tune guitar, ticking clock, very poor sound and mix, amateurish interview, such a pity.
When you're right, you're right. And yet, Arthur blows the f**king roof off the studio, doesn't he? (fodel)
Horribly out of tune. Arthur's guitar 🎸
So was his life when he wrote this
@@JacobBirchallhe certainly spent a lot of time behind the eight ball
Too much time ! “Live and Let Live “ lyric : Served my time, served it Well - You made my Soul, A Cell” Smh.. then the searing fuzz - toned Johnny Eccoles Gujtar Solo .. Man !!
Over A Gun Charge - Arthur Lee , discharged a Gun w/in city limits ..
Arthur Lee was an insufferable ass. He ruined MacLean’s “Alone Again” with his awful voice and stupid ego, and in so doing probably prevented the song from becoming the hit it should have been.
Absolute nonsense.
