Why would you switch camera angles to the exhaust on a top speed run? We want to see the speedo climb. Zack short shifting to is saddening on a bike that revs to 16k.
@@braaaaaaaaaaap Thats because the power was rolling over. You can hear it get less interested up top so there was probably more acceleration to be had by shifting early. Blame it being restricted because thats the only reason.
Can you get it a flash and get it back to try again please? I feel like when people are buying this most are going to be doing a flash as a first thing and probably an exhaust aswell - though how much difference that makes is probably minimal. It would be good to see what it can do in the spec most people will use it.

@@BooStairs im not ignoring criticism, the zx4rr is genuienly a good value for the price, if you want to put the same components the zx4 has on your ninja 400, the money not only quickly reaches the price of the zx, but it goes over it by a couple of grands… and that is still not taking into account the engine, which you are still down 2 cylinders, down a couple dozen HP and down half the revs.
I got to ride one of these at a Kawasaki demo event. Such a fun little bike. You can actually rev it up and play around in a city without getting in trouble.
My 2013 ninja300 used to do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, id have expected this to be faster than 0-60 in about 4.2, maybe its rider error but I was hoping for more
The Parallel twin offers more low end, that's why it has a good 0-60. The ninja 400 is an awesome bike as well. This is just nitch ( don't get me wrong, I ordered one hehe )
The only street bike that interests me. I hope it succeeds and brings in more small inline 4's. Smaller, lighter, slower, higher revs and cool tech. I don't want to be a huge **** on the street, I just want to feel cool and have fun

They need to be careful since they are part of an organization that sells motorcycle parts. EPA published a guide for fines to be given to any company that impairs or removes emission control devices on certified vehicles or sells equipment to do so. In 2016, Harley Davidson got fined $12 million, so it is no idle threat. In 2020, EPA dropped the individual fine to $1,000 (from $4,819), and some think that this means they are likely to start going after more individuals.
@TM-ot3vl I read one of the enforcement documents and it stated something along the lines that there is no problem if the emissions still meet the standard. This is why some aftermarket exhaust systems that include catalytic converters are approved, even though they are louder. It is possible that a new map that eliminates the flat spot but still meets air emissions standards would be acceptable, even if it is louder. I would not like to be the test case, though.
@@jfess1911 the new PC6 only allows 15+/- adjustment vs 250+/- like it did before. The only way to make an exhaust louder like ford did was to make a valved exhaust system where it by passes the muffler. Other than that you’re SOL. Tuning motorcycles used to be easy now i have to send my ecu in to some place in the states to do it which is annoying. If they care about emissions so much why not just switch to hydrogen gas which has a 80% reduction in emissions while keeping gasoline vehicles…
Means you werent born in the late 80s or early 90s. They were so many 4 cylinders 400cc from all the major Japanese manufacturers....we were basically spoilt for choice. I myself rode the cbr and rvf and my preferred choice was the cbr with Yoshi pipe.
Rider weight affects acceleration pretty strongly, but has little affect on top speed assuming the track is long enough. Now being fat with large frontal area is a different story…
YES! Good on you all for showing the actual GPS-measured speed and not the dashboard indicated speed. Not bad in its stock USA-configuration but it really does need the ECU flash and exhaust upgrade for its real potential.

This unfortunately is the US version which is comes with 52hp so it’s a lot slower than the Asian version that comes with 80hp due to US Emissions 😭 the Asian version tops at 243-250kph (150-155mph) so not so bad at all
I read the title as ZX-14R initially. Seemed a little slow to 60 but thought maybe it was the rider...and then became even more confused when the the speed stopped at 126.
You'd basically get the same top speed, you'd just reach it a little faster. F=MA. Acceleration is related to torque and mass. Top speed is related to horsepower and aerodynamics.
Everything counts in top speed and believe it or not rider skill. The surface, wind speed and direction, density of altitude, gearing, shift points, throttle body closure, bike and rider aerodynamics, etc etc. I think this was the best top speed for this no matter the distance and rider weight. Fix the throttle body closing in sixth gear then it could pull some more gearing then the riders weight might make some difference given the short running distance. We once did an experiment at the Bonneville Salt Flats with three different size riders on two different bikes running the same distance (3 miles) with no changes to the motorcycles. Rider 1 weight 155 pounds, Rider 2 weight 180 pounds and Rider 3 320 pounds. Rider 1 was faster than Rider 2 and 2 was faster than Rider 3. On bike 1 rider 1 was 20 mph faster than rider 3, and on bike 2 rider 1 was 25 mph faster than rider 3. The aerodynamics of a 155 pound rider compared to a 320 pound rider was huge as you might expect. However, in the run the bike was clearly maxed out.

I put 120mph on my Ninja 300 with Two Brothers Carbon Exhaust, K&N high performance filter, Michelin Street Pilot tires and with great ride attitude 🙂 so ZX4 RR only about 10mph more top speed?
Head over to Moore Mafia channel and take a look at how neutered Kawasaki has this ZX from factory. Near redline, the throttle plate closes (via ECU) to a mere 56% throttle, and there ain't nothing the rider can do about it!!! Slip-on exhaust, ECU flash, and Moore's tuning, yielded 71 horsepower peak up from stock 57 hp. Yes. You read that right.
