    98 Honda Civic, (2LHP-CV96JM-TM) Poor design when it come replacing burned out bulbs. Ended up disabling Halo,s and Eyebrows. Your "How To" makes it look so easy when the unit is off the car. Changing bulbs after installation is a whole different beast. I'll do alot more research before I buy another set of after market lights.

    @wilnoy Please check if you have any leaks going into your headlights, this can be a big problem for you if it isnt resolved soon. we recommend a headlight sealant in case your housings fog up or has moisture leaked in.

    I have a set of Halo's for my 03 corolla and the two led lights on one headlight went out. I was wondering if those could be replaced and how? Also on the other headlight the bulb on the low beam went out. Wonder if you replace it the same way as its shown in the video?

  • @gcastro723
    @gcastro723 13 лет назад

    quick question, when replacing the lowbeam with an HID set up, you would connect the bulb to the little connector, then the ballasts to the other end, correct?

  • @Specdtuninginfo
    @Specdtuninginfo  13 лет назад

    @gcastro723 yes, generally any HID Kits would be plug n play and have the bulbs connected to the ballast.. so you would just be taking out your stock bulb and replacing them, then, connecting harnesses to their plugs.
    but you have the right idea

      man these headlights were great for like the first year but now I literally have to replace my low beams on each side atleast once every 3 months sometimes it blows them within a month and the bulbs always go in easy but seem to get stuck in the housing somehow every single time it's a pain in the @ss to pull the burnt bulb out. I'm usually able to get my small hands in there with some small pliers and pull the bulb out without removing any parts but sometimes they are so stuck that the pliers break the back of the bulbs where they plug in then I usually have no choice but to pop half of the bumper off to lower it some to get to the side bolt for the headlight mount (I left the front bolt on the mount off since it's more work to get to just because of this reason) and then use pliers again to pull the broken bulb out. Then the new one goes in easy like it should be and works for a month or few then its blown again. Been replacing headlight bulbs cutting my hands up everytime every few months for the past 2 years I'm so sick of dealing with these crappy housings. They look amazing of course even though mine somehow got scratched the hell up somehow when they were super clear for the first year. Now also my right side halos started flickering and strobing for some reason while my left side halos stay on no issue. Overall great for about a year then its constant issues.

      Unfortunately, many vehicle models have been designed in a way that makes removing headlight assembly more difficult than others. For instance, in my cobalt, it only takes removing 2 bolt screws per assembly. This video is more focused on showing how the replace the bulbs after the headlights re removed.

    Hey guy's I just replaced the bulbs today and they usually use h1 bulbs for low and high beam for the Spec D setup, you also can find bulb at your local auto part store, which I found mines at Auto Zone. Just follow video above to take old bulb out mine was hard to pull out so I used a flat head screw driver and lifted it up where the little slit opening is but when I use replacement it went in perfect with no hesitation. Also check your fuses for low and high beam in your vehicle which was also blown too in mines. hopes this helps everyone.

    After pressing back on the locking pin I tried removing the bulb and it won't budge, I have an 05 Honda Accord. Is there anything different I have to do to replace that bulb. The description on this video starts at about 3:00.
    *Update: I got it out I had to use a flat head screw driver to leverage it out.

      I thought I was the only one for a second. Thanks for the screwdriver idea.

      nah man these headlights were great for like the first year but now I literally have to replace my low beams on each side atleast once every 3 months sometimes it blows them within a month and the bulbs always go in easy but seem to get stuck in the housing somehow every single time it's a pain in the @ss to pull the burnt bulb out. Glad I came across your comment. I did your flat screw maneuver and it was surprisingly easy. I was using pliers at first with a "destroy" mantra cause it seems like the bulb is sealed and I kept on cursing. Walked away from the car to do research and glad to see your post. Pat yourself on your back for me. Spec D should make a video on how to pop put hard to move bulbs for after market support for customers.

    How can I upgrade these bulbs to a better quality ones? Also having this issue of bulb not coming out of the housing. I want to upgrade to LEDS but I was told I couldn't by an autoshop, I really don't HIDS in my 05 Armada, just some regular plu and play LEDS. Any suggestions, I've been driving with my high beams for a long time now because the bulbs inside these lenses really suck, low beams lasted only about 2 months after I installed these headlights.

      I bought them over a year ago my brother I think I m just going to take the L and maybe get another brand, they look great but really not worth the hassle of constantly changing these bulbs, I don't want to install HIDS because if one of the ballast goes out it will be more money to replace it, I just need some LEDS bulbs, I may just change the housings next year, there are a few brands out there that look great and are equipped with regular bulbs.
      Thanks for answering and sorry about your issues, it looks like we are in the same boat.

      @@rayochapin Thanks for your reply also, after realizing my right side low beam was burned out tonight again after replacing it just last month I just had to come see if everyone else was having the same exact issue with the bulbs burning out quickly and getting stuck like mine were and of course pretty much everyone has the same issue. But yeah mine are long passed any warranty and I've accepted it as an L too so atleast I'm not the only one lol. Yeah I thought of the LED bulb being a fix since they don't or rarely blow but if I remember correctly I've tried going that route to find that the built on ballasts on the back of any LED bulb just would never be able to fit correctly with the metal clip to lock the bulb in place or be covered or protected from the rubber weather cap on the back covering the wires to the bulb. (Seen some had a plastic cup in some videos idk if they tried to redesign when they realized but I'm sure it didn't fix the problem) so yeah I'm at the same conclusion where the honest best answer is to just buy a different brand of headlights to replace them with which I'll eventually do when I find a decent kind. Luckily I have a connection to get the bulbs insanely cheap so I haven't spent 100s of dollars replacing these bulbs every other month thankfully. But appreciate your response I just had to vent about it tonight I felt ha. Hope you find something better brother or a fix for now if anything. Good luck!

      I totally understand the frustration my bro, I mean, who ever designed these housing were well aware of how much of a pain in the ass is to change these bulbs so why not design something less troublesome? I didn't want to deal with it so took the vehicle to an auto shop where they told me that they would install a set of HIDS for 200 bucks or more depending on the time it would take to get it done, knowing how these places work I figure by the time they gave me my car back that I was going to get slapped with a 250 dollar bill so I decided to pass and and will just replace the housing with something a little more convenient, regarding your bulbs, it sucks that they only lasted a month, it sucks. Alright my bro, it is very late here in Seattle and I have to get up in about 3 hours. Good day to you and good luck.
