I'm curious to know how good you are with music now. You made this comment 2 years ago so i'd say that you're very experienced! I've been doing music with fl studio for over 5 months and im getting so good so fast.
@@CRBRS yeah man the key is to keep going I spent the first 2weeks learning and that was progress and through a couple mistakes (even the songs I have posted now) I was able to see how I can improve my mixing, the key is just research. In future i will drop more and better songs you can see the difference in another two years 💯

Yeah that cloudy sound its because of the mp3 beat u download but i learnd a simple trick to make it sound better u gotta play with the beat too make buses for the beat in other channles and eq a little so it could give it more life to it

27:15 | I think you're getting the cloudy sound from the 808. I would take out some bass freqs from the low-end. sounds like the 808 is fighting your vocals.. just my two cents but I'm sure you dgaf.

Why does my channel rack always change back to none when I try to change my track list?
Great video, though spent ages and still cant get it, for louder shouty vocals would I need to lower the EQ and gain even more? My highs are still breaking the speakers, but the more I lower the EQ the thinner the vocals sound, and cant compete with the audio track. Or maybe my mic just isn't good enough. Ill go with that
Chances are u didn’t gain stage, so before you ever do anything you should lower the beat of the song that u import, after that you can then start mixing. But if your highs are getting out of hand make sure u try not to boost to much of the vocals high end as well as use a de esser and set it to like 4khz to de harshen the vocals. Hope this info helps

This video is extremely helpful. Thank you so so much :D But I have a very dumb question now. How long does it really take to mix and master a song on a professional level? I know you skipped some parts in order to emphasize on the major things that have to be done, and it sounds perfect to me. But I've heard people who take 30 minutes to do all this, and I've heard people who take over 100 hours. What does this time depend on? You know people study Audio and Music Engineering for years to learn all of this. Why does it look so simple to me after this video? Sorry, lately I've been stressed because my creativity seems to be limited by my skills and knowledge, so I just wanted an opinion of someone I think does a great job.
lol usually the mixing is the fast part i mean some people make take days on that just because they want all the effets and reverbs and stuff like that to sit well in the mix, but the long part in my opinion is the mastering which is getting it ready for audio playback on all platforms and shiet. They be making it perfect. Its just preference

I could’ve swore u were putting everything on stereo but if you want vocals up front your post to put them in mono , stereo just gives it with like left & right
When I put then mono the vocal sounds to thin and I dont like it. I usually use the mono version of the plugins doe just not for this song.
The Giving Note that’s why we have compression my guy.. so it can enhance the vocals but keep it at a level where it doesn’t sound pitchy and hurts your ears

The Giving Note you’re fine man.. It’s better to use your dynamic softwares such as compression to make your vocals come alive versus making a mistake in the beginning and it’ll possibly ruin your mix in the long run.. but any who, other than that nice video 👍🏾

So you don’t first - edit the vocals - Noise reductions/ Gates - Vocal Note Correction - vocal Leveling - before mixing ??
not every vocal is the same, meaning not every one would need a vocal chain like this. Mixing a vocal is just that, make it sound good to you. Now when u say before mixing i dont get what you mean because mixing is that. Mixing is the stage where u edit vocals and instrumentas and all that, after that is leveling which is still part of mixing. Mastering is after all of this.

Practice. And know ure plugins. They have plugins like waves that are either as good as waves or better. But waves have the top end that I can't find in other plugins.

Well if you want your vocals to have that sound yeah u can but u always have that option to put it on after but that may lead to more work then it's worth lol. So that's why I recorded with it on.

because I leveled mines to be under and i'm not sure if i should continue mixing...
