Sad to hear of Jimmy Seals' passing. My first concert was Seals & Crofts. I was about 13 or 14 years old. I purchased my own ticket at the ticket booth outside of Washington Park Race Track (horses) in Homewood, Illinois. My ticket was for the fourth or fifth row slightly off of center stage. Yes, that was on the main floor! No such thing as Ticketron back then. Can't do that today. To say that this show was great would be a major understatement. The lights, the sound, the crowd, and famous people performing on stage. I didn't need reefer to get high. It was the whole experience that was so special. One thing I remember is at one point Jimmy Seals hit an odd high note during one song. At the end of that song he explained that he took a breath in and swallowed a gnat which got a mixture of laughter, and ewws from the crowd. Some years later this venue burned to the ground. Being a kid I didn't follow the news, but in retrospect I wouldn't be surprised if the mob were responsible.
I had forgotten how amazing these two men were together. Bought many of their albums in the 70's. Heard, Seals passed away recently, sad to hear that. Had to go back and listen, man I miss the seventies.
I remember going into the Jolly Roger on Sunset one Sunday morning - and there was Seals and Crofts having breakfast with some friends. And that's my best Seals and Crofts story.
I wish I had pursued seeing them in concert! “We may never pass this way again…”. Sadly, that time did pass for many of us who did not get to see them live in concert..😢
I met John Sebastian a few years ago. He signed several old Lovin’ Spoonful LP’s for me which are now framed and hanging in my music room with other memorabilia. We took photos and talked for a bit. He was very “down to earth” and friendly. An excellent musician still…
This reminds me of being a very young child in the early seventies. As a musician myself I am seriously impressed by just how tight these amazing artists were live. All of them, the whole band, just right.

He wasn't on the recording of this tune. John Guerin played on the studio version.
70s were the best decade ever...for music. Period folks. I am so blessed
I got to play music and live a free open life of all that was offered to
Me.
Some of the greatest music happened between '64 and 1970.
Being a kid I didn't follow the news, but in retrospect I wouldn't be surprised if the mob were responsible.
in those days there was so much good music out there was hardly ever the need to switch channels to escape a song you didn't like.
Jeff at 3:20. I started high school 1973 and listened to Seals and Crofts all the time. Toto is my all time favorite band!!
I had forgotten how amazing these two men were together. Bought many of their albums in the 70's.
Heard, Seals passed away recently, sad to hear that. Had to go back and listen, man I miss the seventies.
True fact: this [edit: We May Never Pass This Way Again] was one of Neil Peart's (RIP) favorite songs.
Never heard that before. Thanks for sharing.
Which one, "We May Never..." or "Summer Breeze"?
@@c.a.t.732 Must be Breeze..
@@c.a.t.732 Whoops didn't realize they were both on here. It's actually We may never. He wrote about it in his book "Travelling Music".
@@GeoffBosco Thanks! I can see where those lyrics might have resonated with Neil. I'll have to check out that book.
I remember going into the Jolly Roger on Sunset one Sunday morning - and there was Seals and Crofts having breakfast with some friends. And that's my best Seals and Crofts story.
This brings back nothing but good memories.
An excellent musician still…
One of my all time favorite songs.
Pure magic.
The boys showed us love of life !
Summer breeze..Genius song writing right there..
BORN IN 61' TEEN IN THE 70's😊 WHAT A TIME TO BE YOUNG😊
This reminds me of being a very young child in the early seventies. As a musician myself I am seriously impressed by just how tight these amazing artists were live. All of them, the whole band, just right.
Jesus this live version is oh sooooo good!!!!❤❤❤❤
Absolutely loved Seals and Croft. What memories.
Ahhhh.. The drummer of my youth, and my life for that matter. Jeff was so, so ahead of his time, and so gifted, learning from the masters, and his heros, Keltner and Jim Gordon. In my opinion, there will NEVER be another drummer who had the pocket, time, and groove that Jeff Porcoro had, never!!!
Yes! And “feel”.
Agreed. And don’t forget Bernard Purdie as another big influence. His drum pattern on “Rosanna” is a variant of the famous “Purdie Shuffle.”
@@davidzack8875Pretty Purdie rules!!!
Tears to my eyes........RIP
Listening to this classic and I’m thinking….thank God I’m old enough now to have been young enough back then….
In the 70s we would never miss Don Kirshners Rock Concert. This was before MTV and there were so many great bands that performed on this show.
Jeez, those guys sounded really good. That was a superb live performance.
Don Kirchner’s Rock Concert was my favorite TV show!!!! I was 14 y/o when this aired, I 100% sure that I watched it. Brings back awesome memories 🙋🏽♀️💕
Crossing the street in front of the paramount in Portland Oregon my oldest brother said I'm going to see SandC tonight (70's). Here they came Crossing right toward us and we said hello, seeing you guys tonight.
Hey there Randy....the Paramount in the 70's has got alot of great memories for me too. Rock on my friend ✌️
The two Texas boys can sing. RIP Jim Seals.
A gifted and talented person has passed away. Jim, you will be missed by your family, friends and fans but we all still can enjoy the great music you have made together with Dash. Rest in Peace🙏
Jeff Porcaro at 3:19 -- the best!
Jeff was unbelievable, such a grove and always in the pocket
I still to this day get tears when I think of Jeff leaving us all way to soon. the things he could have brought to the music world are so sadly missed. the best thing about technology and you tube is let let us remember all of the greats that have left us to soon but their music can live on for all generations to learn from.
*groove
@@jumpinjojo Thanks Joe, typing a bit to fast and not proof reading. LOL
@@davidharrick469 *Too fast. Lol!!
Excellent performance all around. Jeff Porcaro was an incredibly talented musician _and_ drummer.
What a talented duo. We may never see talent like this again ❤
Jeff recording with David Gilmour on "About Face" released in 1984 was great
Because I grew up in the Seventies this Will Always Be The Best Decade of Music in History but don’t get me wrong there is Music from The Sixties that is Great Too and Even Some from The Eighties as well. These two song are A Very Special Masterpiece from Them that I will Always Cherish Within My Heart Forever ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
