That's a known animation error, can't remember if it was removed from the blue ray version but it was mentioned in Naruto circles when the episode aired and in one of the questionnaires on the episode.

So assuming any of them bothered to tell their men (although that seems incredibly demoralizing to do, maybe it was still considered enemy tactical intel?), a lot of people might have gone into this thinking a Rinnegan user could hurl the moon. And the sight was a big enough shock to even earth style users, so there was nobody who could summon a rock that big at the time. So I think they can be forgiven for immediately jumping to it possibly being the moon. People jumping on Ohnoki for not saying everything about Mu earlier, meanwhile aint nobody in Konoha said, "Oh yeah, Madara can summon METEORITES FYI, might need some shock absorbers or whatever". So absolutely everyone was out of their depth on this one. Even Kabuto was just guessing!
Madara vs all shinobi = human vs ants💀 Shame on you madara claiming yourself strong when u were fight against weak. Fight someone your size without hashirama cells and edo tensei. Kcm 2 is enough to defeat dms madara.
