As a Brewers fan, I'm going to miss Adames. You treat him well over there, Giants fans. He was the heart and soul of the team. You got yourself a good one.
I’ve been pretty satisfied with Busters decisions since he’s taken control in the front office. He has seemingly made more decisive moves and is looking like he can draw more high caliber free agents to SF than zaidi ever could. It’s just such a relief to finally see the giants signing players who aren’t like bargain basement players or cast off players and unproven ones that he was always tinkering around with and moving around constantly. It’s just so nice seeing them get a little more direction in the organization rather than just being rudderless and flailing
Signing Adames before Soto gets signed, a bit of game theory there. If the "pretty blonde" is getting everyone's attention, the "adorable brunette" could be the best deal. Perhaps Alonso signs soon?
Lmfao this argument is like two children splitting a cookie, one gets a crumb and the other goes “why are you crying? Maybe it’s not 50/50 but you still got some cookie! We’re all good here carry on!”
As a Braves fan, I never thought the team would shell out a contract big enough for Adames. Kim would be a nice addition in that lineup and would allow the Braves to make some other moves.
No one talking about the defense of this team as a whole. Yaz, perennial gold glove nominee, Lee and Ramos both showed flashes of elite defense last year, two of the best defenders in the league in Chapman and Bailey, wade who plays a great defensive first base, then add adames and Fitzgerald too that mix. The sky is the limit defensively for them
This is a great start for sure. We can’t be done. But Ramos just made the ASG. Granted, he could have had a better 2nd half but he didn’t have any backing in the lineup. Give Fitz a full year to settle in at 2nd and he can turn into a .275 guy with 20-25 HRs. You talk about a lefty bat, great. Look no further than the best minor league in 2024, Bryce Eldridge. He’s our next superstar. Jerar had a lot of pop and hit solid in his few ABs in Sept. that could be our DH. Nevermind Lee coming back who’s a 290-300 hitter with the speed. I’d still be down to trade Yaz and some younger pitchers to go get another big power bat.
Trev dropping knowledge about Incubus. Great album, maybe their best. I always felt like Incubus was a cut above a lot of their more generic contemporaries
Low batting, low on base, terrible defensive player. One guy who had a career year(all of his numbers are going down this upcoming season) last season. The Giants are an under .500 team.
I'd say the Giants also need another depth SP in addition to that SP1B to pair with Logan Webb. Assuming Roki isn't an option, Tomoyuki Sugano makes a lot of sense as a #4 to join the mix of Kyle, Birdy, Hicks, and Roupp. Sugano will be cheap and gets to pitch in a good park with a good defense behind him. Past that, upgrading the corner OF is gonna be a priority. A Seiya Suzuki trade would make a lot of sense honestly.
Giants top prospect is a big left bat at 1B and he ended last season in AAA. Wade will be keeping that seat warm, or else they just trade Wade, Luciano, Doval and a couple young arms and try to get a pre-arb starter
Wonder where trevor is going for dinner in CM… couple of bomb fancy restaurants there. That’s a long drive for food though, I didn’t know rich people did treks like that lol
This is a massive overpay if his defensive numbers continue to decline. 2024 was just not a good year by any defensive metric. We'll see how his offense can translate to playing half his games at oracle and definitely not expecting him to stay at short for the whole 7, but ill eat my words if his defense can rebound for another 3-4 years at the least.
Do you guys forget posey owns like 20% of the giants turned that body armor money for which he was the largest investor and turned it into a giants ownership share. So really he is spending his own money to an extent.
16:45 it was BodyArmor and Posey was a hella early investor I think right after Kobe. Edit: LMAO Trev you've been in SoCal for how long and you don't know where Costa Mesa is????
I'm beating my own dead horse (which, at the very least, seems rude and braggadocios to both do and type), but Sasaki is nowhere near as polished as Senga, Imanaga, or Yamamoto were when they left the NPB. He really should be considered the same as a hyper-toolsy college player who has a very limited body of work. At the going rate, he's well worth the investment, but you shouldn't expect much from him until year 2 or 3 (if he can remain healthy).
Thanks for taking time out of your Saturday’s! I was hoping you guys would do a vid for this signing. So, division doesn’t matter. Players/coaches want to win the division. Fans and ownership want a playoff appearance. And with two extra spots for the playoffs, we don’t need to stress about trying to win more than the Dodgers. Our OF is locked down; Yaz, JH Lee, Ramos, Matos, Fitzgerald (util). We’re squared away. We need a new right side of the infield altogether. I don’t expect Lamonte Wade to stay healthy the whole season. We don’t have Thairo anymore. Wilmer has been hurt a lot and is aging. Can Bellinger play 1B still? Hmmm that’d be sick. Vladdy or Polar Bear Pete obviously but yeah right. I want Ha Seong Kim and Burnes still. Go git em 😅
Am I missing something with Willy Adames? I don’t see anything in his stat sheet that indicates he is great or even really REALLY good. He’s a good player.

Worst deal I have ever seen in this franchise. Terrible and no-brained sign. Giants need a real slugger and a strikeout type starter as the foundation of the team. We already have had Tyler Fitzgerald raised by farm, and bunch of utility men in the squad, you spend 7yrs/182m to sign a replacement. What a hell of this management team? Worse than Farhan, a lot.
His contract is much less than they offered Correa a couple of years ago. It’s also better than the contracts given to the other top shortstops that year.
Ehh only because he doesn’t have any fame attached to his numbers. But that’s really what the market is paying for him, especially at SS. 7 years is a tad long but dudes in their prime under 30 are getting that length. I’ll take it even if he falls off entirely after his 5th season.
@@PurdyGoodmy guess is that it took the 7th year to get him signed right away. Signing him before Soto signs reduced the number of teams bidding for his services. Losers in the Soto sweepstakes might have wanted to turn to him.
