His work on Ted Lasso and Shrinking is amazing. Both shows are incredible dives into mental health and great examples of positive masculinity. Raw vulnerability in both shows. I love it.
As a British person, I can't tell you how great it is to hear another British person on American TV who DOESN'T speak RP! Just a normal London accent, it's a joy to hear!
I think this is the right decision. 40 people is a lot of people to pay to see me. I know Harrison Ford is important. But not 40 people important. (Maybe 5-10.)
Omg I didn't think I could love him anymore than I already do! The story with his mom is hilarious and the Harrison Ford story is so cool! I will be watching Shrinking tonight.
I mean so many great attributes in this guy as many of the comments on here have well captured. But I’ll add that he’s such a great story teller as well. Love the story about his Mum and what happened with Harrison Ford.
@Brett Goldstein Above you wrote "i replied on your comment for a purpose" and in the above clip you mention the same approach applied to comedy writing. It sounds like you apply your Ted Lasso lesson to life in general. Great to see that thanking a random fan on youtube is part of that philosophy and purpose. All the best.
I always wait until the end of the credits and we are always rewarded and especially this time. I'm afraid I rewatched it at least a dozen times, it did an old woman a lot of good. Oh hell, I'm off to watch it again.
My then-8-year-old-nephew and I were the only ones left in the theatre at the end of the credits of 'X-Men: Last Stand,' so we were the only ones to see the final scene.
@@karlmortoniv2951 Right. A Colbert has excellent comedy instincts, but his first job is to get out of the guest's way. Goldstein's delivery, though. You don't even know a joke is coming till it rolls over you.
Last time I saw him (only time) he had a small part in Ricky Gervais's Derek, playing one of the main character's boyfriend. Now he's in Marvel and chummy with Colbert, still funny as hell.
Oh my God, I completely forgot about him in Derek! I knew I had fallen in love with him before Ted Lasso. I remember thinking while watching Derek that he was absolutely gorgeous and I hoped I’d see him elsewhere. Thank you for solving the mystery for me.😊
Brett Goldstein is such a gem! He made a great joke at around 5:50 , but I think that he's used to British audiences who are (having lived there) much more quick to get the joke, so there was this {{THINKING}} silence from the audience afterward, which was also awkwardly funny 🤣
Gotta say, I saw Jason Segel in the preview for Shrinking, and I thought, oh cool, I wanna watch that. Then Harrison Ford came on screen and I thought, oh holy crap! I have to watch this show! How do I watch this show?!
VERY great storytelling, no doubt about it. But Greg Davies or Miriam Margolyes on The Graham Norton Show are better - to me at least :) Miriam Margolyes: ruclips.net/video/N4sGU_eFc40/видео.html And Greg Davies: ruclips.net/video/yuXGpUR7fXA/видео.html
I agree. So handsome, but the more I've seen and read about him, he just comes off as a talented and down to earth guy. I highly recommend his podcast 'Films to be buried with.'
I mean this people on Ted Lasso,Jason was brilliant ! But the entire cast was just superb, starting with the amazing Hanna W. Bret, Juno ,great everything period,we need more series like Ted Lasso !
If I remember correctly, he was writing for Ted Lasso first. Before being cast he looked at the character of Roy Kent and said something like "I am Roy Kent, I should play him'.
Oh my gosh I love Christa Miller so so so much, I was only half paying attention and just heard the cadence of her voice, ha. Honestly the first show I've been excited to watch in a long time.
The more the years pass the surer I become that the easiest way to get Harrison Ford to appear in your movie or show these days is to just let him play himself but with a different name.
He reminds me so much of Anthony James. The lankiness, voice, face. It's interesting! I'm a big fan of Roy Kent, looking forward to see how he interprets Hercules!
I don’t know how the audience didn’t immediately cheer out as he hit the floor “He’s here, he’s there, he’s every fucking where! Roy Kent, Roy Kent!”
So Brett is the kind of guy we need more of. Simple as that, imo. No fevered ego, no bullsh1t, no nonsense, funny, genuine, and hairy af.
I'm not normally a hairy guy kinda girl but I would climb Brett like a tree and run my fingers through that chest carpet the whole time. Lol
@@JessRansdellSmithI second this🙋♀️

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Emotional maturity, talent, funny and looks the part of Hercules…
Yuck! How terrible right? 😉
As a British person, I can't tell you how great it is to hear another British person on American TV who DOESN'T speak RP! Just a normal London accent, it's a joy to hear!
What is RP?
Seems he went to one of the country’s most expensive schools though, so swings and roundabouts
Yes, there are a disproportional number of posh British actors, but I haven't heard RP on TV for decades.

What a gem of a guy to not cancel on his comedy gig - gotta love him for that ❤
Really, anyone who doesn't already should really listen to Brett's 'Films to be Buried WIth" podcast. He's the sweetest dude.
He also starred in his own indie movie "Superbob" a few years ago; it's a romantic comedy, quite lowkey, about a superhero who's socially awkward.
@@lowellthomson1958 He even, occasionally, resurrects people.
What a guy.
I think this is the right decision. 40 people is a lot of people to pay to see me. I know Harrison Ford is important. But not 40 people important. (Maybe 5-10.)
@@emilyk5168 Or, the hidden bestest option, invite Harrison Ford to the gig and just have a 'Conversation with.....' evening.
“He’s here, he’s there, he’s everywhere…”
Happy for him
I love that he didnt want to let 40 people down. Now THATS a decent human being right there.
That Harrison Ford story is GOLD! Absolutely loved it!!
Right??!!
He wrote Shrinking?! Its one of my fave new shows and I love him on Ted Lasso, plus he writes for them too. wow!
“Is that business over?
“Yes”
“Let's eat”
That's what I like about Harrison, zero BS.

It’s weird seeing Roy Kent smile so much.
Brett is such a great guy and I’m so happy to see all of these good things coming from him!
I love how he moves off the topic of how he looks so quickly. Such a humble and sweet guy.
Man, is this for real? You are terrific!
He is so great on Ted Lasso! So talented, actor and writer.
I never expected one of the funniest bits i heard in a long time to come from him. My hat's off to you sir! Chapeau!
The best character in Ted lasso!
The most growth for sure!
I just love him!
@@tompatchak8706nah, that's jamie

“They called pest control …” He has great delivery-just slides these jokes in. I feel like Stephen didn’t know quite what to do with him.
Brett wasn't there for a conversation, he was there to tell stories. Nothing wrong with it, just unusual.
@@liambohl Colbert knew what to do with him - stay out of the way and let the man work, unlike some late night hosts one could mention,

Yoooo, I didn't know he was a producer in Ted Lasso! Literally my favorite character in the show!
I believe he was actually a writer and/or creator originally, but when trying to cast Roy Kent he just felt he was right for it.
