The Chargers did not have a practice facility so they used local high school fields. When they were using ours, we would go down to watch. I got to shag balls for John Hadl and Lance Alworth along with others like Keith LIncoln and Ernie Write. Ernie Ladd, at 6'9" was massive to a 10 year old like me. Funny, I saw Jack Kemp in San Diego in 1960 and also Johnny Unitas at the end of his career in San Diego.

My family moved to Kansas City in 1968, so we were there for the Super Bowl win over the Minnesota Vikings at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans. "Keep matriculating the ball down the field boys!" Our home was about two miles from the Chiefs practice facility, so my parents would drive us over there so we could yell like idiots at the players as they came out. "Beat the Raiders!" was our favorite chant. Mr. Leonard Dawson was as big of a local hero as there could be, he was beloved by everyone in K.C., thanks for keeping his memory alive.

@FreeSportsCards-c8r he also punted in Buffalo and saved Kemp's butt a few games. Also, has highest win percentage of QBs with 50 plus starts and also record 400 plus snaps with NO fumbles and was 1969 AFL MVP. His arm changed the way the AFL played the game. His stats outperformed Namath and Dawson from 1967 to 1969 and the Raiders only lost 4 regular season games in those years. Ok I'll climb off my soap box now

Correction here. The Chargers 1963 Championship game was against the Boston Patriots, and NOT the Houston Oilers. The Chargers DID play the Oilers in the 1960 and 1961 AFL Championship games, losing both to the Oilers. AND, it was TOBIN ROTE who led the Chargers to the 1963 Championship. Check the record. John Hadl didn't start ANY of the 14 games the Chargers played that 1963 season. Rote did. Rote also was the starting QB for the Chargers in their 1964 AFL Championship loss at Buffalo. The 1965 Championship rematch between the Chargers and Bills was played in San Diego, and Hadl started that game, AND punted once for the Chargers. The Bills won both games. Hadl did have the starters position for the 1965 season however and went on to have a very respectable career in the AFL and NFL.

Actually getting your knees drained involves removing excess fluid buildup. Even a little fluid in the joints can cause them to stiffen up. So no, it is not really painful - it is actually a great relief once it's done.

@@JustinMunson-w3b I was looking at my viewer retention for this video this morning, and right when I talk about giving away that card it drops from 50% to 30%. I thought of the idea that you just mentioned but then I’m afraid that people will lose interest in the video and click away. I think that what I’m going to try with my next video is, the day after I post it, long after the free cards have been claimed, delete the tail end of the video. Not sure that that is the answer, but I can’t think of a reason why that won’t work. Thanks for the suggestion and watching the video.
