Exceptional teaching! Love the addition of the armbar as a possibility on a sweep attempt. Thank you Coach Travis!!

This is my favorite sweep, some people think is too outdated but still works.

These videos are reigniting my desire for bjj. I wish I was in Portland. I can't express how much I would love to train with SBG philosophy and methodology.

The concept could be compared to a soccer drible... you fake a move in one direction and force the opponent to post onto your body setting up the right opportunity for the armbar. Very good.

Interesting. I always tend to "air plane" when they start to try and break my guard which almost always ends when my doing the flower sweep. I'm definitely going to try the hip bump sweep from that angle.

I have never had an instructor really show how to set up this sweep so I have only really looked for it when the opponent has leaned back. Really need to work on cutting angles to beat frames.

Coming from judo I see an issue here too. Especially if the opponent is heavy or pushing into you very hard. I think the same can be accomplished by landing with the elbow out of the way and on your ribs. At that point he’s far forward enough the you can sweep him.
