      wich is why the movie was dumb af. spiderman cant win and shoudnt have won. Makes strange seem allot weaker then he actualy is.

    • @blindpew8094
      @blindpew8094 4 дня назад +6

      @@ChimsThoughts the time stone had been destroyed for a while by this point. But I agree this scene particularly was way too corny. Very lazy writing and bad plot armor to just say "oh geometry!".
      People like athletes don't actively calculate stuff like this, they use intuition. I'd prefer the scene if they didn't add his dialogue and just showed his thought process somehow.
      Honestly this movie made me find Peter just annoying.
      Edit: I'm speaking specifically about MCU. Not other source material.

    • @loreleishukin5261
      @loreleishukin5261 4 дня назад +12

      @@blindpew8094 The thing is you're comparing him to an athlete when he's not... he's a science/math nerd that uses humour to manage the stress of having to fight the people he does.... Come back to this when you've opened at least 2 actually comic books because you'll notice scenes like this are in comics as well, though I will admit a lot better written. However you get twice as many if not more spiderman jokes than you'll ever see put into a spiderman film... The closest accuracy to his jokes and how often they are used are the cartoon kids shows with his puns and all that.... He's also extremely intelligent, he makes his own web fluid, and uses that intelligence against his opponent. Due to how he acts and portrays himself as a hero it's very common that he's underestimated. The only villians that didn't underestimate him were his own because they knew what he could do.
      Doctor Strange highly underestimated Peter in this scene specifically. Pretty sure something like this happens in the comics as well, but whenever Peter is underestimated by a hero he often wins. This has even happened when the Hulk was holding back and spiderman managed to punch him hard enough in the temple Hulk got knocked out..... However it was stated that the hulk was holding back after that fight and had he known how strong Peter actually was wouldn't have held back as much... Every fight after that with the heroes often ended with spiderman losing or it being a tie..... In this you can tell that Strange was holding back drastically in this, the heroes in the comics all know Peter is just a kid and often treat him as such when fighting forgetting or just ignoring that he's more skilled than people give him credit for

      It's just writers. When it comes to math and science they love to pretend theory is easily applicated. You can take the best theoretical geometer throw him in the mirror dimension and there is zero chance he could apply anything especially compared to a sorcerer who has years experience actually operating in this dimension. They needed Spider-Man to win. He said "r^2/pi" which literally has zero use case in geometry. Couldn't even give him a line that made sense.

      1: There is a big difference between knowing math and specializing in it's practical applications
      2: Spidey does a shit ton of calculations in his head at all times. In the comics, all of his web swinging (even in combat) needs calculating so he doesn't splat on the ground or puts too much force on his body/webs/criminals. He constantly does complex equations in his head every day.
      3: Peter Parker specifically is a genius. Like, approaching Banner and Richards. He's really clever
      4: Strange isn't expecting this. So how would math help him here?
