    For some reason i was the only person to report these a-holes selling a product that they know is dangerous.I have emails with them and they keep telling me it is normal and expected for the black cylinder to shoot out of the gun, breaking the outside body, if the co2 is left in the gun at all. But they said if i pay to send it to them they would take a look and tell me how much they would charge to fix it. Now that is great customer service. I hope some others file some incident reports to the consumer product safety administration. Knowingly trying to injure people with faulty products is crap.
    And thank you for this video and others. I wasn't having much success reassembling the valve. This should help

    I called Umarex in Germany and was told that customers have only had the pressure chamber come loose when it was left pressurized overnight. Unfortunately I can't verify this, but fortunately mine has lasted to this day without modification. I also have an HPA system with 1100 psi connected and so far no problems despite the generation 3.

    I didn't have any luck getting 3mm set screws so I used 4mmx.7 and only drilled out the two crimped spots instead of four. I used Red Loctite. Worked great. I thought it was a done deal when that thing burst out of there on me. Thank you. It now works excellent. I was hesitant about popping the CO2 seal but when I did it was silent. The little pin sticking out the back was confirmation.

    • @marshallhendley1643
      @marshallhendley1643 Месяц назад

      So mine leaked the second time I used it after this repair that wasn't exactly as this video says to do it. So perhaps being patient and obtaining the proper items might work better. I had no luck finding 3mm so I used 4mm and I only drilled the dimples from the factory crimps as I was leery of fucking up two more holes without some sort of way to keep my drill bit true. I feel that when I went to change out the cartridge that the unreasonable amount of torque required to free the cap also breached my new loctite seal just as it twisted the crimps right through all the threads in the first place. Ultimately it is engineering design failure by umarex. Sucks because this thing was a lot of fun the two times I was able to play with it. Luckily I would never be so dumb as to rely on this for self or home defense.

  • @Alfonso-s2n
    @Alfonso-s2n 13 дней назад

    Look at one thing and you will see why I say this, in most air guns with co2 the cylinders are introduced with the neck upwards and we put the cap in. What do we hear while we press? A sound of air and we press more and more until the sound stops, in the case of the umarex they are designed to be punctured when needed as when putting the threads and we press we do not know if it is well adjusted if it is not the bottle will puncture yes but there may be a small leak that we do not notice because the cylinder goes in that tube. If there is a leak and we decorate the shots the accumulation of gas will be greater

    @earthenscience 8 дней назад

    LOL! I found out they did this simply to increase profits, it takes more energy to thread them at the factory I guess. A bit less absurd than the theory they made the tube less safe on purpose... As I don't have any pematex 592 sealant, I am wondering, what if I just put baking soda and superglue around the rim... My hypothesis is that in order to "explode", the tube needs to expand the crimped rim so that it can release. But if there is a solid object around the rim, then it cannot expand, because of the aluminum container around it, and thus stays stationary.

    Let's see, this is to reinforce the valve body because it seems that in some cases it is crimped. and others screwed together which let's say is safer, I think that part of the plastic tube is only designed to house the cylinder in theory I don't think it needs to be so reinforced why do I say this? Why can the tube that goes to the valve explode? I think that this is caused by an increase in gas inside that tube and that causes a gas leak from the cylinder. The cylinder is punctured if during the time that the valve is punctured the valve does not close and open correctly releasing the gas that it needs to charge the power of the valve we can have an accumulation of gas inside the tube where the cylinder is and this can cause an accident because the explosion of the gas does not come outwards it does so inside at the same time that it is fired. My approach is when we close the cap where the bottle goes, we must tighten it enough until we feel it hard. If we do that, we ensure that the bottle does not have any play. By painting it in this way we ensure that there is no leak and that there is no accumulation of gas inside the handle. I think that the problem is not in the valve parts, but in what causes this explosion.

    Another issue with the exploding is people leaving the CO2 pierced for days at a time. Once it's pierced it should be emptied either with shots or unscrewed to release the remaining air. I believe that's why Umarex gives it's customers so many rubber balls for practice so you don't have to use up your good ammo. A good weapon but very sensitive. Let's see, you are mostly right, the screw-on valve has a better hold than a pressure valve, but this problem is caused by the loss of gas when there is a gas leak, whether due to a fault, this can cause the cylinder to be punctured and empty it hours later, this maintained pressure damages the valve needles and can end up leaking gas with each shot, these valves also do not allow pressure of 1200 PSI maximum, 800 is what they are designed for.

    I have a simpler solution.
    On my hdr 50 I disassembled the valve and wrapped adhesive rubber tape around the co2 receptacle tube, so that it fills the empty spaces inside the armature, so whenever you tighten the co2 cap the rubber mold prevents the valve from becoming loose or move to prevent damage, and if the co2 tube ever comes loose, it will never be released, as the inner rubber mold forces it to remain in place.
