I did it that way to show it’s a temporary support pin, if you put it straight in the hole and get distracted before completing, you might struggle to remember where you were up to. It does need to be put in the hole after doing the first part of the 6 pair crossing. Thanks for the feedback.

Excellent video as always! Can I ask with the middle section why do you need to put a support pin at the bottom and not straight into the middle?
