I have both radios for about a year now. I totally forgot about the USB A jack on the front until you mentioned it. I'll be using it from now on to charge stuff at my desk. THANKS!!!!
Thanks for the video. I did purchase the Butel software but it would only allow me to load 99 Favorite lists (FL). I have over 200 FL. And if you loaded 99 FL it will erase the the other FL on the SD card! So I use the Butel software sparingly and mostly for the screen on the computer and for recording the hits from the scanner.
Hello your videos are so helpful thanks and can ask about the home base scanner can you control it with a mobile phone as I'm thinking of buying so when I am at work
Thanks that was so informative, Reading manuals can be a bit daunting when trying to transfer that to the unit, Video makes a big difference to understanding, Thanks, I have subscribed😁👍
G'day to you, thanks for your videos.. You talk price. In Australia I paid Au$950 for the radio it came with the small battery. I had to buy the large battery Au$150, then I needed a local SD card Au$50 so Au$1150 all up not cheap and I find it difficult to use. I'm learning. One very important thing is please backup your sdcards I have a few spare, just incase and I'm glad I did because I have stuffed things up.. HooRoo from Australia 🇦🇺
Im still using an analog uniden BC. ...is it worth getting the handheld digital ? I have no experience with digital or trunked...but ive been looking into it
A lot of communication centers use the SDS200 scanners for monitoring other agencies in their area. It's become an invaluable tool for many professionals. I was surprised to hear you refer to it as "the hobby" @16:37. I suppose you can make a hobby out of any activity, but to call monitoring a scanner "the hobby", sounds strange to me. Thanks for the information on BuTeL software (I bought the Pro version).
Dr. - I have a question regarding radiation. What chart should you use to understand the levels of radiation? The Geiger counters come with many different measurements.
Hi my name is Donald and I am thinking of getting a sds200. I have seen people say that the sds200 will not work in Los angles because of encryption. I live in Riverside 92505 a part of L.A. I think. I am new to this so thank you for all the help. I have no idea what add on to get or if they will work in my town or if I even need them. Thanks again Donald.
I know that my question doesn't involve any of the scanners in this video but I have a hp2 and the signal bars are non existent. There is no problem within the unit and I do sometimes get 1 or 2 bars for about a second or two then nothing. Should I get an external antenna or a signal booster?
Are you familiar with a Discone Antenna? A great scanner antenna. I use mine and works great. I do not have mine mounted on a mast; it sits on my home floor.
Great stuff, I'm a newbie can you tell me the right procedure for removing the usb cable from my sds100 after updating firmware and database Thanks I'am a big fan of the show,
I love uniden map pricing. I work in an industry where that does not exist. The worst thing is it makes the mom and pops and small operators look like thieves!
REALLY want to buy but after that comment about new models I just have to wait. These are 5 years old at this point! Hopefully will come out with refreshed models soon!
Gad, this thing is over $1,000 when you upgrade it to actually work and still no bluetooth.. I dunno, it feels super cheap and the battery sucks so you have to buy more batteries. My TRX-1 does nxdn and dmr but doesn't handle simulcast so I have a couple Unication G5s for simulcast.
while it's decent piece of technology it's already outdated. there are 1000s of thransmitions a sec so you won't know what to listen to and if what you are listening to is of any interest to u. then what could be of interest to u this unit may not be able to pick up nor decode nor follow. I had SDS 100 and BCD436 - sold them both.

First thing to know.. Waste of money. Don't buy these paperweights. Buy Rtl-Sdr's dongles instead and download free scanner software. Million times better setup with a few usb sdr's and a dedicated PC. We upping 40 calls a min to broadcastify calls with only 5 rtl-sdrs running 10 feeds. You aint ever doing that on a SDS200.
Well that's going to be kind of hard to keep in the jacket while in the field. For a non-portable home based setup perhaps but still a bit of a headache unless you want to run dedicated hardware, software and a computer 24/7.
Thank you. I just bought the SDS200E here in the U.K. from MOONRAKER. It is a great receiver, and I'll be watching your videos. 73 de John G4YDM
Thanks for sharing I just ordered the SDS100

Brill thanks Enjoyed this will they ever add Dstar C4FM
Thanks for the videos and heads-up.
Ciao..
I wonder what the newer models consist of? I was gonna get the SDS100 but now I’m gonna wait.
Newer model? I was going to pull the trigger but might also wait also if that’s the case?

Precisely... As a first responder, we use the 100 and 200 to keep track of other units which are and are not on our channels. They work fantastic.
Enjoyed this except the too long music intro. I have both Butel and ProComm. There are times the former worked on my new laptop. Don't know why.
A five and a half minute lead in? So painful.
You just saved me five minuites the start was quite cool
when is scanner master get the batt back in stock fir the sds 100
Sorry, I don’t know, you will need to call them.

Why doesn’t Uniden add c4fm, and Dstar??

looking to fire chase, is anyone willing to do some 1 on 1 training for the sds200?
Yeah, join a volunteer dept. Cheers.
I hate the fact that it is impossible to lower the audio volume in many situations, like when you are holding a channel. There is no dedicated volume
Is this the handheld or the mobile?

That’s super for a stationary feed provider…not the rest of us.
That may work for you, but I cant fit a dedicated PC, Rtl-SDR dongles and a GPS unit in the cup holder of my car.
