ark has dinos with feathers, one of the few that started doing it, only a few games ive heard of have feathers, and i dont think feathers cover every single part of the dinos, your over exaggerating a bit but there is feathers on some dinos
Rusty Torch even the feathers in ark are minimal and far too colorful more closely resembling that of a tropical bird, the feathers dinosaurs had more closely resembled fur but are colloquially called feathers the correct term would be filaments. but ark also has dragons so its obviously just for fantasy however this game is not. the ancestor to all dinosaurs indeed had filaments so any dinosaur that didnt have extremely beneficial feathers covering their body wouldve had to have not only lost all of its feathers in just a few short million years against all logic and to think that MOST dinosaurs did this is illogical, but they wouldve had to have competed with other dinosaurs that kept their feathers, dinosaurs that stayed warmer lost less energy to heat loss and blended in with their environments better, there would have been no competition. t-rex was likely at least mostly covered in feathers, the feathers wouldve resembled that of an emu, long almost fur like strands and of earthy tones. scientists and archaeologists are now beginning to think that feathers were as diverse and widespread in dinos, as hair is in mammals so i really wasnt exaggerating. a big naked dinosaur would not only have frozen to death as its been proven that many dinosaurs including t-rex lived in areas where it got cold and snowed but they would have overheated in the more arid environments from no protection from the sun. it is possible they didnt have feathers but again they would have to have lost them all very quickly evolutionarily speaking and wouldve had to have competed with dinosaurs who kept their filaments. if you are making a fucking entire game based on dinosaurs, you think you would want to do a little bit research and portray them as accurately as possible. in fact many people are buying dinosaurs games now simply because the developers got the look right like saurian for instance. adding feathers would not only have been scientifically accurate but it would have possibly attracted more people to the game there is no logical reason why jurassic park portrays their dinosaurs the same way they did in the 90s. imagine if we never stopped portraying them as we thought they looked in the 1900s. i feel completely justified in getting triggered over this.

Grandads well i do like realism but its more about just using the most basic level of logic in the storytelling of a game im sure the game mechanics are perfectly fine. unless its explained somehow that the game takes place in a universe where dinosaurs dont have feathers or that the virus only infects mammals or something and even then mosquitoes would spread it no one thinks about mosquitoes in zombie movies
