WW2 isn't really taught as it's own thing, but they do teach things from the war - The Holocaust, Hitler's rise, British evacuation of children, etc, depending on age group.
History in general has moved from teaching kids things that happened, to teaching kids social dynamics and that sort of thing

Yeah the lack of History being taught is a real problem and explains a lot of the crap we are seeing.
