Imagine being able to sleep that deeply! I could never! I wake at the drop of a hat, or the when a certain furry man gets up, stretches, shakes, drinks and goes back to bed.
I would definitley give up sleep for that guy! He probably thinks he is graceful and quiet ...
I'm crying right now. Only because Sherpa always feels so safe wherever he is knowing Dad is near. You two are so lucky to have found each other. Saw the video where travels are not an option now. That's what a good Dad does. Sherpa deserves a retirement plan after all of his faithful years of service. 😊💙💙
Jamie, I know exactly what you are going through. It’s hard when they slow down. I think it’s harder on us than on them because they are just angels. Remember that he is so happy and so relaxed - and you give him a wonderful life. He’s a lucky boy. ❤

As a dog dad of a senior Labrador myself, I felt this right in the feels. He loves you and feels safe and comfortable in his old age, and that’s the absolutely best thing you can do for a loving older pup.

my old malamute was like this when she becaume deaf at nearly 13 years old. she would have the most wonderful sleep, I would just place myself right next to her face and gently breath on her, and eventually she would open her eyes in surprise then her ears would go down in pure joy when she saw me. I loved that she had such wonderful sleeps in her old age.

You and Sherp deserved a home like that after so long. He can spend his "golden years" relaxing and wandering his domain knowing it's all HIS, his home, his yard, his comfy sleeping spots in the house. As a man fast approaching my own "golden years" I can relate to him sprawling out in the yard and just taking a well-deserved nap. Nothing beats having nothing to do, and simply enjoying the moment.
Sherpa loves sleeping in the garden because the ground is both soft to him and cool. The garden lawn doesn't get warm the way the house does. My sweet angel Sherpa looks so cuddly while sleeping.

This video more than any of the others made me really think about how old he's getting.. like.. how he's getting closer and closer to the rainbow bridge.
Please treasure these last few years (hopefully), for they are worth all the money in the world. What i wouldn't give to have another week with my good boy, to be able to cuddle him one more time and tell him i love him, and him giving me a wet nose kiss in return.
I know you love him. It is obvious even to a blind man the love you both share.. but please treasure every second you have, as he sleeps, feeling safe and content.
He's a content senior. Sometime it takes some effort to wake them up. I have had dogs for over 25 years and this is normal and sweet!

I'm sure its hard to wake up because his life is like a dream now with Dad, new home & garden! When he dreams he's doing the things he does normally (hanging with Dad, fun with Key, getting biscuits and listening to birds in his garden), so waking up takes a bit to adjust to which dream life he's in!!!

This is very worrisome to me, I am so sorry. I have pictures that I took of my beloved Jamie before he passed. And he was doing the same thing, laying down and dozing soundly off outside or inside with me always close to him. My son went with me to take him to the Vet and he even laid down outside of the examine room door. They took an X-ray and it was devastating to me. A tumor and he was dying. You take wonderful care of Sherpa but please have him checked again. I am an old lady and well... But more importantly this is about you and Sherpa!
