I just got back from a really special few days away.
This art retreat is the first one (of hopefully many) curated by Thali / thali.demeter
We gathered together in Longford, Tasmania, for a 4 day retreat. We explored the grounds of Brickendon Estate, painted and drew endlessly. Thali also prepared some group activities including a pass-the-drawing art game, trivia night, still life session, and victorian love-letter making.

What a lovely trip. The chicken sketch was my favorite- so cute! I love their round little bums and just the shape of them. So glad we could tag along

I didn't know I needed to do an art retreat like this one, but now I do hahaha 😍 I loved it and felt really inspiring! This reminded me of why it's so important to have some time just enjoying painting and experimenting with art
Yes! Absolutely! I always just crave a chunk of days to do nothing but paint and draw, but it never happens when I’m at home/studio! Must make more time for it x
I had misty eyes throughout! But watching you all walk through the gate near the end had the tears comin'! This looks so lovely and soothing. I think my body knows I need something like this at the moment. What a beautiful adventure :-) Thank you for sharing with us xoxo

Looks like it was such a magical stay! All these retreats you're going on are inspiring me so much! The work ye all created is so beautiful, but I guess that tracks with how dreamy and gorgeous the scenery was. Was really like watching you all walk through a fairy tale. XD

Have you been to the estate? It’s sooo lovely! And the animals are so friendly!
@@SophieMcPike Yes I have been there many times. They used to have bonfire night many years ago with food fireworks and a huge bonfire. I also have been with my urban sketching group so have many a sketchbook spread featuring the beautiful buildings and animals. Its a magical place for sure. My workplace is just around the corner.

Thank you so much!!!! I just used my iPhone! And a self made LUT and textures over on premier pro which is what I used to edit it :)

This retreat looked amazing! Such a cute video. Do you mind my asking what bag you would use on a retreat like this to carry supplies, water, camera etc? Struggling to find something I like!
I just used a simple back pack :) and all art supplies would be inside various pencil cases.
@@SophieMcPike thanks for the reply! Does your camera gear go in a separate case then? Or just free float in the bag? I just invested in a camera and feeling like I should baby it but maybe it’d be fine? Ha ha.
