  • It's time to get my Zappshelter installed in the yard! For years we have dreamed of a yard like this with an undercover place to store the lorry, machines, and load in the dry. Thanks to Zappshelter for the help and you can learn more here: www.zappshelter.com/container...
As you can see getting the yard ready in time was quite the mission but smashed it! And the shelter was so easy to get up, so I could be using it within basically 48 hours from start to finish.

We are all chasing our tails, jumping from 1 job to another, using 1 vehicle to rescue another and always looking for keys!😂. Oh for a dry hard standing yard and shelter! Great video!

I thought it was wet down here in the South of England but the rain up there seems relentless!, glad it all went up o.k. in the end, when i was young you get never get into plant operation as there were hardly any training schools or i would have done it.

Another busy week in rough weather but nothing gets in the way. Fair play, you just get on with it. The Zapp shelter looks like a good option rather than building from the ground up. Thanks for sharing your week with us

It is of course law that the instant you get your shelter buttoned up, the weather improves.

Hi Amy what a awesome video again, you sure work with some amazing people, man you can turn your hand to any machine great job with the telehandler What awful weather to put the shelter up. Your dad doesn't seem to have any luck with his pickup, totally agree once you have lost faith it's always in the back of your mind it's going to fail. The shelter looks awesome now it's up what a difference that will make for you both. Thanks again for sharing with us especially in that awful weather take care and stay safe 👍 😊.

Shelter is looking good, Amy. I know what you mean about rain and mud. We have been building some new houses in the last few years, on a site which can easily have three or four seasons in a day. It is also on the side of a Wellington hill😁. Cheers from NZ.

Depending on the age of the dumper you should to be able to start most equipment with the dipstick. But that might be a pre 2000s trick, I have seen it work on some pre 2010 dumpers and rollers

Thought about the ZappShelter, or more about the containers really. At work we have some shipping containers that we use as gear stores, and they're held down by ground anchors secured to the turnbuckles at the 4 corners. So far they've not gone anywhere much even at the top of a 100m hill in the outer Hebrides in Atlantic gales.

Hope the shelter survives your strong winds, has it been placed next to the bank deliberately? Looks really good, I watch CEE over in AUS and he put one of those up but did it on his own, mind you he wasn't struggling with high winds and torrential rain. With regards to young people being involved, lots of construction companies don't really employ anyone any more, especially those doing the work. Lots of construction companies now expect those working for them to be self employed, that way they don't have to pay sick or holiday allowances. Plus if there is a major issue with a project and it fails, if someone is to blame they can just pass it around. After all look at Grenfell Tower, where everyone was complicit in its failure, but just blame everyone else, everyone involved in that project is guilty for the loss of life, from the Council to the person putting in the last screw. Also and I have to say it from what I've seen especially over the last 25years, young people don't seem to be interested anymore, of course it doesn't help that successive Governments have, especially in England and Wales have made a complete hash and mockery of the apprenticeship system. This government is never going to do anything about it, as it wants everyone to get a degree which is a complete sham. 👍
