Excellent interview. Jeff Hanneman wrote most of Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits, nearly all of Reign in Blood, nearly all of South of Heaven, most of Seasons in the Abyss. Most of Slayer live staple are Hanneman songs (Die By the Sword, Angel of Death, Raining Blood, Dead Skin Mast, War Ensemble, Seasons in the Abyss, South of Heaven, Disciple, ) RIP Jeff, legend.
The audio is crap for the interviewer, can't hear him at all. You have to go off what Jeff and Kerry are saying. Enjoyable interview none the less. R.I.P Hanneman.
R.I.P Jeff!!! It makes us sad to see you go, but at least your with Paul Grey and Kurt Cobain and all the other great music legends. Thank you for bringing us great music. :'(
@mrc515 In terms of technique, Kerry King hands down. He has possibly the smoothest picking technique I've ever seen. Jeff writes a lot more material though, and is a better composer.
Jeff plays with his arm, I've never seen this dude moves his wrist, it's still insane how with that technique he's still able to solo very fast and most of the times very precisely.
Jeff began to really plays with his arms around 1991. Just look how he had a much better guitar picking between 86 and 90. His palm muting was excellent at that time. He even had a great and clean shredding in his solos live. Just watch Silent Scream live at Hammersmith odeon in 1988. It was great!
Everybody has been ripping on Kerry for this and that. You know what though. Kerry and Jeff were true brothers. Do you think Jeff would appreciate everyone dissing on his band mate and friend for thirty years? Think about it.
I'm gonna miss Hanneman and the music he created. It's tough to watch this and accept him passing on. At least we had many years with some great music they created. King could only be 25% of slayer no matter what direction he takes things....it took the original 4 musicians to get to that level of intensity. Lombardo was one of the few trash drummers I could get into since he had groove or feel. Araya-great singer/frontman too. War Ensemble, Angel of Death, South of Heaven, etc, etc, etc
You know, I never liked the black album that much, and loathed load and reload for a long time. After I got into blues load and reload were pretty cool to me, and garage inc was great. However, the old days with cliff.....man NOBODY could touch em! Justice was great too. Just watch an old vid and a new one back to back, and it's clear as day.
@mlody969....Actually, in and of itself, atheism is simply a lack of belief in any deity... I think your confusing atheism with anti-theism... the two don't always go hand in hand. :)
The interview that blew up Dave's head into thinking he needed more money then the rest."Nope,fired!"...Looks like Anthrax used Corey from Slipnkot as their singer and brought him street cred from Slayer. '"
Does anyone like the new metallica? I don't think I've ever met anyone who does. The last album I bought of theirs was And Justice for All. I refuse to buy another
@hotmercedes, is Kerry an atheist as well? I thought he was just VERY anti-religion, but if he holds no belief in any sort of deity, well that's even better! XD
WTF they on about? Suicidal got better after Lights. The Art of Rebellion is a masterpiece. Some of the best songs of their whole career are on that album. Monopoly on Sorrow being one.
great jab at metallica look what happened they changed and fucking suck slayer just keeps on dishing out some kick ass records metallica hasn't had a good record since justice the black album sucked too as for slayer they still kick major ass and god hates us all is by far my favorite its got a shit load of anger and religulous anthems on it
I wish Jeff was here in 2016 :(
"I got some songs when I get out in 2016" it's ironic and sad to hear that
Do what thou wilt Why he go to jail?
Yes I agree.
@@HardKore5250 no he passed away
I'm comin back motherfucker. Oh how I wish that were true.
You can tell they were brothers.

War ensemble was mostly Kerry’s... but yeah I see what ya mean.
He also wrote Diabolus in Musical, which isn't a bad album. It show Jeff was the most creative one.
@@cheothegeo2742 it's hanneman song
@@mcrfan343up until seasons yes after seasons no. Diabolus easily Slayers worst album.

long live to Jeff.. nothing gonna tear off what u do in life bro.. \m/
Damn still so crazy that Jeff is gone. Would like to think Slayer would still be together if he were here.
Breaks me inside Hanneman mentioned '16 like it's tomorrow. Still passed in '13.
Jeff Hanneman gets out of prison this year
Torvus What he in for?
@@HardKore5250 throwing the guy from Destruction off the window
5:02 Regarding putting together a "dream band": Kerry: "Drums I'd probably still pick Dave", Jeff: "Oh Sorry, Dave's already in MY band"
Kerry is wearing his KFK Industries shirt. KFK Industries is the name of his clothing line.
Jeff is wearing a Vital Remains shirt. Great band.
actually is a vlad dracula t-shirt
Kerry is actually muscular if you look at some pictures of him shirtless, he's actually pretty big
Volumesofdoom big breasts?

the boom mic operator is really havin' a hard time lol
me too...is it sad that I've had relatives that've died but I haven't experienced a death that was as sad or devastating to me as Jeff's?

I wonder if Slayer is putting out new stuff 2012. I really hope they do
Great shot at Metallica!
yet they fucking fire Dave!
I love how they write such fast and thrashy stuff, yet they seem so friendly and funny in real life.

i like the new metallica, its great
but comparing it to the 80s Metallica, the new is just pretty disapointing
