I've found that composers' best works were often those created for Fantasy worlds. I believe Fantasy not only provides the perfect ground for inspiration, but most importantly *shapes the composers imagination as much as the composer shapes the world with his music*. This upward spiral of shared beauty is one more reason to smile, and regain faith in humanity.
couldn't agree more, divinity original sin 2, skyrim, the witcher 3, but you can say that scy fi has some great soundtracks to, like the tipes of star wars, halo, hell even destiny.
The reason is because fantasy games just get more attention in general, and more of them get made. There are less sci fi games. The ones that do exist have soundtracks that are just amazing if not better imo just for how more infrequent they are. We need more sci fi games.
Borislav Slavov has done it again! Fantastic addition to his collection. Crysis 2 was one of my favorite soundtracks, and this theme fits beautifully with the imagery from the DOS: 2 title screen.

they really are amazing. clearly they care about the quality of their games, listen to their customers (adding in the voice over for the entire game), extremely good communication with their customers through early access. their CEO seems like a super good guy.
I can't believe how much better compared to Original Sin 1 this is... in everything... the first one was amazing game but this is just... holy hell, Larian truly outdone themselves BIG TIME. I lack words to properly describe the feels this gives me.... Original Sin 2 might be one of the best RPGs ever made, and that's tall order given that Witcher 3 came out last year and steamrolled all competition.
i don't think they will since the big producers are less and less popular while studios like larian are gaining support thanks to their pro customer approach (also the fact that they actually love their jobs and are not doing it just for the money)
I think they would rather stay independent and avoid EA like a plague. Now that Original Sin sold pretty well, they even said they dont need kickstarter anymore. I for one will always support Larian as long as they stay true to themselves.

Great composition! The musical accompaniment of this game is the best I've heard in the fantasy genre after the Witcher, and perhaps the Lord of the Rings (and the Hobbit). The atmosphere is simply incredible, you listen to it, and you are imbued with fabulousness ... Magic is blowing from the speakers! In addition, listening to this composition, you directly realize that a wonderful, epic story awaits you. Bravo... those are all good, but you really should check out legend of grimrock theme (the first one, se second games theme is also pretty good tho), maybe the best rpg theme music in a few years (its from 2012)

I think this Soundtrack creates a special atmosphere ,which is actually the same as in the game. something like Dark and Light mixed up.
