Such a well put together MTG video. My bf actually got me into the game, so this was a nice surprise to be able to show him! He loved it too!

I am so happy to hear that! I put in a ton of work into this video. You'll also be very happy to hear that the 1994 episode will be releasing at 12:30am EDT, or in about 3 1/2 hours!

Ah yes...the old days, when we did not even know all cards in a set. Imagine playing and your opponent suddenly plopping down a Nightmare if you have never seen or heared of the card

Needed to watch the video in 2x speed as it was quite slow, amazing video non the less as I am learning magic the gathering!
Its quite interesting to see how the game worked over time.

Great video, I would just recommend working on the cadence in which you speak on video. It’s a little distracting. But ton of good info.

Good old days when packets were $3 to $5 bucks a pack.

I remember back in my days some people were playing Magic The Gathering cards outside the cafeteria during middle school. We were not allowed to play it even in cafeteria

Wow. Just look at those cards' artwork.
It's like they are pages from fairytale books.
    Genius. 😮😮🤯🤯🤯

I know! So much better than the crap we get nowadays. I don't know why we don't go back to older style artwork such as this; and use the retro card borders as well.

Nice video! I loved the music choices, they were so nostalgic.
By the way, there actually is an effect similar to City in a Bottle. It is the Golgothian Sylex, whose Oracle text reads:
{1}, {T}: Each nontoken permanent with a name originally printed in the Antiquities expansion is sacrificed by its controller.
Interestingly, this is the same Sylex that Teferi went back in time to investigate its use for destroying the phyrexians. It was the same artifact used by Urza to unleash his ruinous blastto rid Dominaria of them.

Only dragon card i have is Wardscale Dragon with stat 4/4 and it's effects.
As long as Wardscale Dragon is attacking, defending players can't cast spells.
    Not bad.

I actually don't know a lot about Homelands, so I had no idea this card existed! This card will obviously be covered in the 1995 installment. Would have eventually found this in the research phase of the 1995 video, but I appreciate the information!

The topic is nice, i love these kinds of historic overviews of the game.
But... about 3 minutes in i found the music was too loud and distracted from the picture and voiceover. It was too typical and messy to block and i was unable to continue watching. I skipped ahead a couple of times but it didn't change. You lost me. Im sorry

@DMFF same I often listen to these things like a podcast but the music now is distracting. Also your voice needs some more body/lower frequencies. I dont think its your voice but just the mixdown or the microphone. 🙂Still i like your concept so please keep it up!

hey i want to know if its possible if somebody could do a podcast strictly on 1993 and year 2000 on how hard it was to get cards back when Magic and Pokemon first came out. There has to be other stories out there and your content kind of reflects that.

    • @DMFF_YT

This is basically similar to a podcast in the way that it is an informational history video. I plan on doing each year, one at a time and 1994 is about ¾ of the way done. Hopefully it will drop within a month if life goes according to plan!

Pokemon card games were more popular then came Yu-Gi-Oh card games. And Magic The Gathering were sadly forgotten.
